2 out of 5 eggsWasted Money

Pros: Installed it, and it ran.

Cons: Although it worked, it didn't move anywhere near enough air to justify using it. In fact, given the amount of space it occupies, it made zero difference in my temperatures. I monitored it for two days before sparing myself the energy consumption and took it out.

Other Thoughts: At least it was cheap, and decided to take a gamble. Just don't always win them.

5 out of 5 eggsIt fit

Pros: It fit directly between a motherboard slat and my graphics card. Which is all I was hoping for. I can't hear it over any of my other fans. I'm sold.

Cons: None thus far.

Other Thoughts: I'm hoping it will cool off some of the air thats dealing with my processor.

5 out of 5 eggsGood fans for video cards that run hot

Pros: I have used these in so many builds in the last 2.5 years. They solve a lot of cooling problems without making your computer a blow dryer. They seem to hold up pretty good.

Cons: I had one fail in the first week. It was whining way too loud compared to the others I have used.

Other Thoughts: This is the only PCI slot fan I use because they move some air (42 CFM at hear 28 dBa is nice).

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Does it's job and you can change the orientation by just flipping the bracket around.

Cons: I had to pull this from my rig recently as it was the most noticeable noise coming from my case. (and I have 7 other fans 120-140mm)

Only has molex for power, makes it hard to control the speed/noise.

Other Thoughts: If you don't mind the noise, it is still a pretty good pci cooler.

1 out of 5 eggsJUNK!

Pros: I bought this in June of 08 specifically to help cool my 8800GTS Graphics Card on my old build. Because of the placement of the heatsink on the 8800GTS it worked very well in drawing heat away and exhausting it.

Cons: Unfortunately after several years of use it became very noisy. I took it apart, cleaned it, and it was quiet for a few months. It however, again became very loud again and repeated cleanings failed to quiet it. I finally removed it. It is very cheaply made and I suspect that they all go bad after a few years.

Other Thoughts: If all you care about is a few years of use then it is fine. I would not purchase one again. I would advise doing more research and getting one that is of higher quality.

4 out of 5 eggsIt Works!

Pros: Dropped the temp down a few degrees. Good quality.

Cons: Takes a little more then a PCI slot leaving the slot next to it unusable.

Other Thoughts: The size of this unit should be decreased to fit a PCI slot without interfering with neighboring slots. Do not get this is you have a micro atx board.

3 out of 5 eggsWider than a PCI slot

Pros: Works well, pushes out a good deal of air. Not very loud.

Cons: Widens a bit outside of the PCI slot. This means that you likely won't have luck sliding it in between two cards there.

I was able to fit it in between my wifi adapter and soundcard, but not between my graphics card and sound card. The images here are a little decietful as they are all at angles where you can't tell that it widens, and the description says it takes up "only one PCI slot".

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: I used this for several years to help pull hot air out of my system when it was an air cooled system. This does remove a good bit of heat and the face plate can be removed if you need to have the fan facing up or down. Either way, it still does the same job.

Cons: Needs a PCI slot position> Meaning you may have to move components around in the PCI area to get the maximum use out of the fan. I haven't used it a in a year because there's just no room due to video card 3rd party cooling fans.

4 out of 5 eggsgives that extra bump

Pros: Has a higher CFM than many similar units. Pass-thru MOLEX plug lets you install it without having to buy any kind of adapter. Mounting bracket is reversible (in a pinch) in case you want to use it with the intake facing the other direction (down). Oh and the price is just tasty.

Cons: No easy way to control the speed. And the underside of the housing gets a little hot. Don't think it's the bearing causing friction, this probably means it's been limited in speed to control noise. Though quiet, the sound is a little high-pitched, so more noticeable than your average fan. Maybe I should oil it...

Other Thoughts: Really simple. Great if you think you need to get a little more air out of the case, or even install it next to your graphics card to help cool it more. that's why I got it. Passive cooling graphics card was heating up the whole case like an oven cuz it's at the bottom. Now that's fixed.
