The ARCTIC F PWM forwards the PWM signal from the CPU to the whole case ventilation system. The entire system is cooled quietly, but still offers the superb performance when needed.

  • newegg Versatile Applicable With the standard 25mm frame, the ARCTIC F PWM can be applied as intake or outtake system fan.
  • newegg Silent Operation Thanks to fluid dynamic bearing and the fan holder design, the ARCTIC F PWM is not only quiet, but also highly durable.
  • newegg Quick and Easy Setup Via the PWM signal, the CPU fan is controlled by the mainboard to reach the ideal temperature for the CPU. The PST (PWM Sharing Technology) is forwarding the PWM signal to all other fans inside the system. This way, all fans are spinning at the same speed. This provides silent operation in idle mode, but also gives sufficient performance, when required to offer efficient cooling.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Pair with GPU CLC

Pros: Completely silent. PWM Splitter works flawlessly. Hooked directly to my VGA fan header using a VGA->PWM adapter and it is controlled by the GPU very well. It's very low power at 12V @ 0.17A so the GPU has no problem powering this and a 120mm off the PWM

Cons: The yellow wire is flimsy and in the way

5 out of 5 eggsLets you use 1 PWM connection for more that one PWM fan

Pros: Works as advetised. Have been using these fans in 120, 92, and 80 mm to get PWM from 1 connection to more than 1 fan since they first appered on NE. No issues with any of them so far. All fans make some noise, but I've never had one of these "whine" at me.

Cons: None, it does what it is supose to do.

Other Thoughts: All fans make some noise, but I've never had one of these "whine" at me. If you get one that does, send it back, or at this price, toss it, it's probably cheaper.

Not all 4-pin fan connectors on a MB are PWM connectors, read the MB manual to verify pin-outs.

The fan power cable is designed to go between a MB PWM fan connector and another PWM fan, say the CPU cooler, with fan monitor connected to another MB fan connector. When all else fails, read the instructions.

Pros: Does what it says on the tin, quiet and moves air.

Cons: Requires electricity and not dreams and starlight.

4 out of 5 eggsHmmm.

Pros: using on an ASUS P8Z77-LK motherboard:
(3) case fan 4-pin headers, and (1) 4-pin header for the CPU.
nice fan,
except...

Cons: I am a bit leery of Arctic's patented PST (PWM Technology) claim. I also don't like the fact that the fan connector on this Arctic fan is not a simple 4-pin connector but involves a second connection for the yellow wire to get RPM monitoring...

Other Thoughts: it will probably cost me more than the fan is worth to exchange, but that is my problem. I will be SURE I know what I need B4 I place an Order.

2 out of 5 eggsnot so good and noisy

Pros: None really. It was supposed to be a quiet fan, but IMO, it is not nearly as quiet as it's ".4" scone rating.

Cons: It makes an audible vibrations noise even as the fan spins at low speeds. It doesn't see to move as much air as expected.

One sone (1.0) is said to be only as loud as a quiet refrigerator in a quiet room.

A sone is a measure of noise. This fan was rated at .4 sone which should make it less than half as loud as a quiet refrigerator in a quiet kitchen. IMO the fan is louder than 1.0 sone. Perhaps as loud as 1.5 sone.

Part of the problem is that the fan blade seems to vibrate as it rotates, even at low speeds. Something - maybe the vibration of the fan blade - is causing a "phiff, phiff, phiff" reminiscent of $1 to $2 fans from the early 2000s.

I'd expected better performance and less noise. It's just not there.

5 out of 5 eggsMight need to stack yellow wire also

Pros: As others here have noted, fan is quiet, durable and moves alot of air. I have a push-pull configuration on an Xigmatek cooler (replacing the one, stock 92mm fan), on an Asus M5A87 mobo.

Cons: At first, I was puzzled by a CPU fan speed error of zero. But then, as one other reviewer here noted, CPU fan monitoring can be made functional, but you need to plug the single, yellow wire from one of the CPU fans in the three-pin connector into the stack also. So that you have fan one, fan two, and the yellow 3-pin connector as the third and final connection, all stacked and plugged into each other in line.

Other Thoughts: Speculation is that plugging the yellow, RPM sense wire into the stack separately is necessary because there are two fans going in the stack (because it's made to do this), and if two sense wires were sending signals to the mobo, it would confuse the mobo with too much voltage (or something similar), or if one fan for some reason started running slower than the other, that would also confuse the mobo.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: -Well made, silent, good looks

Cons: -None

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace the fan that comes with the
Rosewill RCX-Z1 sold here on NewEgg, since that HSF doesn't come with a PWM fan. Fits perfectly and silently cools a Phenom II 955 well with aforementioned heatsink.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Quiet Fan

Pros: Quiet and moves air. Replaced the OEM fan on my CPU cooler with this, and reduced noise to near-zero.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Excellent for the price. The wiring is adaptable to any mobo.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat improvement over stock fan on brand-name PC

Pros: Bought to replace an 80mm fan on a Gateway desktop that was repurposed into an HTPC. Huge airflow improvement, much quieter.

Cons: None. Fit it's role well.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat CASE fan, not for CPU fan

Pros: If your looking for case fan you're in luck, I should have done better research as I was led to believe that this could be used as a primary replacement for the cooler... but it gave me CPU fan error open first boot, so I entered the BIOS and changed the alarm to six hundred rpm with no luck. now it's the pull fan and works great

Cons: for some reason it will not display its rpm even though it's plugged into a four pin case fan connector on my Asus m5a99x evo

Other Thoughts: DON'T BUY FOR CPU COOLER, CASE FAN ONLY
