5 out of 5 eggsDecent Cooler Great Price

Pros: Inexpensive. Drops max high load temp by 15 degrees Celsius. Runs quiet.

Did I mention cheap?

Cons: Large. Some sharp edges.

Other Thoughts: My main reason for buying this unit is that it is one of the cheapest coolers available. It did not disappoint. To install, I had to remove my motherboard in order to attach. It sounds like this is common with many models. I did notice that there are other models that do not need a back mounting bracket, but I have had problems with coolers coming loose with these types or just not making solid contact. This bad boy will still be snug long after it finds it way into a museum.

I have a first generation i7 and it runs hot at full load. I was get up to 85 degree Celsius with stock cooler. I am now getting 70 max. CPU temp usually hovers around 55 under average load.

The cooler is big. I have a full tower and an ATX mother board. I had no problems getting it to fit, in any orientation, but I can see how you could have problems with a smaller board and case.

There is a protective cover on the bottom that clearly says to remove before installing. Well, the written instructions do not mention this and I almost forgot to remove it. You have been warned.

5 out of 5 eggsSurprising Performance

Pros: It keeps my i7 920 D0 cool enough to run at 4Ghz

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I picked this cooler up for $20 when it was on sale. Without question that is the cheapest HSF you can find that will keep my cpu over 4Ghz. This HSF is not strong enough to allow me to hit 4.2Ghz at all like I could with a $75 Noctua. Even at the regular price of $30 this cooler is a good value. Probably second in value behind the 212Evo. If you are just looking to run stock speeds or a mild OC this is plenty of cooler for you

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Runs cool and quiet.
Currently have an old Pentium q8200. Old factory cooler had cracked and needed an immediate replacement. In the interim was able to use this new cpu cooler with my current equipment pending purchase of newer I7 system. This cooler works great and can be used on my next system.

Cons: Broke the end of one of the fan mounts by pulling to hard. The mount still works and had no effect on the operation and overall mounting of the fan.

5 out of 5 eggsBeats the pants off stock for cheap!

Pros: What can I say? For $25 on special I got a heatsink that chopped 15c off my idle times and 20-25c off my load temps.

On an i5 2500K, my idle temps are ~30C, and my load temps STRUGGLE to get above ~50C running stress tests at 100% CPU load using standard clocks. This gives me plenty of play room to overclock with while staying under stable temps, and its why I got this heatsink.

For an i5 installation is pretty simple with one exception (see below).

Also, I really love the included thermal paste. It works well and it means I don't have to buy more. Just a small-pea sized glob in the center is all you need folks to get great coverage.

Quiet as well. The mounts for the fan are rubber so you are not likely to hear to hear it against the heatsink.

Cons: Installation is easier with the help of a 2nd person. The backplate doesn't screw onto your motherboard at all, it just sits there and your heatsink itself is supposed to keep it in place. I had to have a 2nd person come over and keep the back plate pressured while I tried to figure out how to line up the heatsink with the holes (being a universal mount it requires fiddling with screw positioning to fit the set up for your motherboard).

Other Thoughts: My PC doesn't have the most amazing cooling/airflow in the world, but I have pretty decent airflow - the heatsink fan pushes air through the heatsink and right out the back exhaust fan.

Just make sure you have enough space. It's 160mm (or 16cm) high. My pretty standard mid-tower case fits it perfect without any issues. Fits in nice and snug next to my ram to with my i5 socket without competing for space. Worst thing space wise is the fan ends up being right on top of a ram stick, but its not actually touching it with how high it is off the motherboard so its not really an issue.

Its a no-nonsense heatsink that is well designed, gets the job done very well that leaves plenty of temperature room for overclocking at a no-nonsense price. If only all things you could buy with money were like this.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat, but oops

Pros: Probably a great CPU cooler for this cheap price. Great quality.

Cons: As advertised, it says it can be mounted to a LGA 1150 socket. IT CANNOT AND DOES NOT. Made that mistake and I don't have a CPU cooler that can mount to my motherboard ASUS Z87 with Intel i5-2670K.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler for the cost!

Pros: -Great performance for the price.
-Quiet fan.
-Compatible with many different socket types.
-Able to keep a moderate overclock perfectly cool.
The AIOLOS Plus is a pretty good cooling system for what it costs. The included fan is nice and quiet; I couldn’t hear it at all over my case fans with normal use. I could just barely hear it when I ran the stress test. So, volume was great. The installation process is fairly straight forward and very easy to understand.
This cooler with included thermal paste on an i5 2500K: (The stress tests were the highest temp after 45 minutes of prime 95)
Stock speeds:
-Idle: 27 degrees Celsius.
-Stress: 53 degrees Celsius
Overclocked to 4 GHz:
-Idle: 27 degrees Celsius
-Stress: 64 degrees Celsius
Overclocked to 4.5GHz
-Idle: 28 degrees Celsius
-Stress: 74 degrees Celsius

Cons: -Installation can be time consuming
-A bit tall, make sure it will fit in your case
-No really major cons come to mind
The only real con I can come up with this is the installation. While it is easy to understand, actual execution of it can be difficult. If you don’t have a cut out for the back of your motherboard in your case then you will have to remove your motherboard completely to change it out (though that is the case with many aftermarket CPU coolers). Beyond that, it has nothing to hold the backplate in place, and since I didn’t want to remove my motherboard completely this meant I had to hold a hand under it while putting on the cooler and making sure that I didn’t smear the thermal paste badly and then screw it down all at once… maybe I should have asked for assistance? Overall, the installation isn’t too bad, it would probably be easiest to just remove the whole motherboard (which if it’s a new build you wouldn’t have to worry about that), I was just trying to save some time.

Other Thoughts: This is a great buy for what it costs. I would highly recommend this CPU cooler. It does an amazing job. I did some comparisons to the Intel stock cooler and a Hyper 212 EVO. I also tested with my normal thermal paste vs the included paste. All comparison tests were done at 4 GHz. In order of performance, here are the results:
Hyper 212 EVO:
-Idle: 26 degrees Celsius
-Stress: 59 degrees Celsius
AIOLOS Plus (with my normal thermal paste):
-Idle: 27 degrees Celsius
-Stress: 63 degrees Celsius
AIOLOS Plus (with included thermal paste):
Idle: 27 degrees Celsius
Stress: 64 degrees Celsius
Intel Stock Cooler:
Idle: 30 degrees Celsius
Stress: 89 degrees Celsius (I really should have known to watch this one, because I was not happy about this temp when I came back to my computer and saw it; I blame my cat)

Keep in mind this is a lower cost than the cooler that out-performs it. This cooler is a great value! I highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible Improvement, but some issues

Pros: Very powerful
Quieter than my stock fan
Whereas my stock fan would run about 70C under the stresses I put it under, this kept below 35 C with the same stress
I used to idle at 30C, now I idle at 20C

Cons: AMD mounting bracket can be a little tricky if you aren't taking the motherboard out of the case
A little taller than I expected. I used previous comments' guidelines, but it still nudges against the side of my case, and I had to move a case fan to a different slot

Other Thoughts: For the price, you really can't do a whole lot better. I'd suggest this to anyone doing a build with a processor exceeding 120 watts.

3 out of 5 eggsPlastic?

Pros: Great design overall see cons. Purchased for client, not me.

Cons: The Fan is held in place by plastic...literally...there are 4 plastic "prongs" that slide into the heat sink and then you pull them through the fan mount hols and they pressure set. They are not clipped in place or anything...they just use pressure to stay in place. This is not what I expected at all. Normally these types of heat sinks will have clip on brackets which are far superior...I would not purchase this part again.

Other Thoughts: Overall if you need a low cost cooling solution then this will do just fine.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fan Easy To Install

Pros: I've built three previous computers here at NewEgg. The last build lasted for four years. All three had stock cpu coolers. This one did not. I was concerned.

I shouldn't have been. The video made it easy. Just remember to remove the plastic protector on the bottom where the heat sink pipes make contact with the cpu.

I did this right away but awoke the next morning worried that I hadn't. Wished I'd have placed it somewhere obvious but it was buried beneath instructions and boxes.

No worries though. My cpu is running cool.

Cons: None
