These thermal pads offers a suitable alternative to using heatsink paste/grease. The thermal pads remain solid at room temperature, and soften at heatsink operating temperatures - eliminating the mess of heat grease, while maximizing heat conduction to create a cooler operating environment for your hard working CPU.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrid

Pros: None

Cons: Too thin to be useful
Impossible to remove from the backing without destroying the pad
You'd be much better off using a small plate of copper and thermal grease than this, because this product is absolutely useless.

Other Thoughts: Avoid these.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: None.

Cons: *The pads are very small in size, about a inch squared.
*The pads are very thin, and very sticky. Impossible to work with.
* Never managed to apply it correctly. Half of it sticks to the heatsink, the other half to the paper.

2 out of 5 eggsAlright for testing, not much else

Pros: I have used these in the past when I was rebuilding computers and I just needed a quick test, and they mostly worked fine for that.

Cons: I wouldn't use these in as a permanant solution, they don't transfer as much heat in my experience and are hard to adjust for different applications. Use these for testing in the shop, and then use AS-5 for the final build.

Other Thoughts: Nice idea, just needs a bit more work to really be useful.

1 out of 5 eggsStay away from these!

Pros: None. Seriously, none.

Cons: As discussed by many previous users, these cannot be applied without destruction of the pad--"wax" paperback will not separate cleanly without tearing or destroying the compound pad. Wasted 3 pads and tossed the remaining two pads--waste of time.

Other Thoughts: Use 3M thermal pads, Artic Silver thermal compund, or Antec Reference silver thermal compound. They all work! I prefer the last two silver pastes, but when a pad is needed, use the 3M pads.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None

Cons: The adhesive side does not stick. The wax paper side acts like it is super glued. Impossible to get off without tearing. I would never buy this product again

1 out of 5 eggsNot A Good Buy

Pros: None

Cons: Not At all worth the price tag... To be honest I wouldn't try this product again if you aid me to

Other Thoughts: Blew through all 5 "pads" trying to get just one to adheare to heatsink without success... as of now computer is a doorstop while I wait for AS-5 to come in mail.

5 out of 5 eggsgood pads but small

Pros: good at moving heat to heatsink, with Zalman my AM3 X3 cpu is idle at 20C

Cons: small, didn't cover my whole cpu, only about 80% of it

Other Thoughts: they should be made a little larger, expensive for the small size - but I didn't want to have to re-apply grease every year so I got these

1 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely worthless

Pros: None- Used all five to mount 1 processor. Read directions five times to make sure they were followed.

Cons: Potentially damaging product. Will not work if your heat sink is not larger than the pad. Not only did I waste 4 trying to get one to stick, the fifth had no effective value at all. The processor went into thermal shutdown while the second processor that fortunately I had to use a traditional silver compound was fine. When I removed the processor assembly, the processor was welded to the heat sink (not reusable in the slightest). After cleaning and reapplying with a silver compound the processor was fine. There were no gaps in the pad, so it is proof positive that the pad was ineffective. The real question is whether permanent damage was done to my processor, so I would appreciate the manufacturer emailing me for the address to send me a new Mac Pro.

Other Thoughts: If there are limits to this product such as “Do not use on Liquid cooled processors” this should have been known and advertised.

System used on was a Power Mac G5 quad.

1 out of 5 eggsdon't waste your $$$

Pros: Zero

Cons: These stuck to the plastic too much to get a full application.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money. Go with paste.
