  • newegg 6 heatpipe dual radiator design Providing more surface area, better heat-distribution and superior airflow efficiency than conventional tower style heatsinks, the NH-D14’s six heatpipe dual radiator design was developed to provide ultimate quiet cooling performance in dual fan mode.
  • newegg Dual NF-P14/NF-P12 PWM fan setup The NH-D14 sports a premium quality dual PWM fan setup consisting of Noctua’s award-winning NF-P12 (120mm) and NF-P14 (140mm) fans. Supporting fully automatic PWM speed control, the NH-D14 SE2011’s NF-P12 and NF-P14 fans use Noctua’s novel, custom designed NE-FD1 PWM IC that integrates Smooth Commutation Drive (SCD) technology. By providing smoother torque impulses, SCD suppresses PWM switching noises and thus make the fans quieter at lower speeds.

5 out of 5 eggsAn Exceptional product for Exceptional cooling

Pros: This heat sink can keep my 5820k cool at 4.5ghz up from 3.3 and its also pretty quiet

Cons: Its really huge, so huge it blocks the RAM slots and has some trouble fitting with certain RAM types. Their site has a guide for all the different types of RAM so make sure you check it.

5 out of 5 eggsBest 'quiet' air-cooled solution out there

Pros: -Durable (Have had over a year without any issues)
-Quiet / Silent (Depending on what profile you setup and the needs/strains you put on your system the Noctua can go from completely silent as in cannot hear it at all to a quiet soft whooshing sound if turned up)
-Easy to install
-Copper pipes
-Good quality native fans
-Great airflow

Cons: -None

Other Thoughts: It's big, really big. Make sure you have a case large enough to fit this thing.

Cools my 4930K at 4.5 while maintaining low noise profile. Under Prime can reach up to 80C however, mainly due to sacrificing increase in fan speed to maintain low noise.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great, Easy Install, and nearly Silent too!

Pros: This CPU cooler inst any more difficult to install then a stock cooler.
- There is no backplate to install first.
- You aren't left wondering if you used too much or too little pressure when tightening down the screws.
- The 140mm fan helps cool your motherbd components and ram!

It even comes with High Quality Thermal Paste... and enough of it for you to check your 'spread' and reapply it a few times.

The Cooling Performance Rivals that of All-in-One Watercooling without the disturbing high speed fan noise most of them have when under stress.

I buy cooler to keep my system on the quiet side of life and this more than does the job, even with my meager 4ghz overclock (5820k) the fans never go above 60% and keeps my CPU at 46c during stress testing

Cons: None at all

Other Thoughts: Hardest part of the install is deciding if you want a normal front to back airflow or updraft cooling*. LoL

*bottom to top airflow (for those with top vents)

4 out of 5 eggsNH-D14 for 5820k Review

Pros: This guy moves A LOT of air, and very quietly too. during a prime95 cpu stress test (i7 5820k) temps hovered around 70C. During normal use; rendering and gaming, highest temps I've seen are 60C.

Cons: It's BIG, when other reviews say this believe it. on the Noctua site they have a list of boards and incompatibilities. HOWEVER, this doesn't list ram compatibility. Check the physical dimensions of your ram, or the ram cooling fins may interfere with it. I run Corsair Vengence LPX (ddr4) [44mm height I think] and there is enough space for me to wiggle the ram into and out of place, but not much else.

I would NOT recommend this fan for anyone who has a need of moving their case around a lot, be it to work, lan parties, or even inter-office. The install instructions indicate that if your going to move the case remove the cooler first, and I tend to agree, its relatively heavy and the attachment system attaches to the base using 2 screws.

Other Thoughts: If your looking at this fan your going to want to look at a full case, not a mid. chances are it will not fit in a mid case.

2 out of 5 eggs'UGE....so big, there's no room for the 'H'

Pros: or anything else for that matter. I'm sure if your case is a warehouse, you'll have no problem with overheating. This thing is massive.

Cons: I checked the measurements prior to ordering; actual dimensions and theoretic dimensions are totally different things. The L x W x H says It "should've" fit into my case, however when everything else was installed, I couldn't even close the side access panel.

Other Thoughts: Be warned. or just keep it in your car as a back-up radiator...

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing performance

Pros: Keeps things very cool. Silent. Dead silent.

Cons: Takes up a lot of space. Blocks cool looking Motherboards.

Other Thoughts: I was very nervous about his heatsink clearing the RAM, but was careful in measuring and had no problems. IT fits perfectly into the case. It is big and heavy, but produces really low temps with no real noise. I have yet to see my CPU go over 42 C, and typically runs about 28-30 C. This is well worth the money, but do your research and make sure it will fit your build.

5 out of 5 eggsMassive

Pros: Keeps a hexacore Core i7 running super cool.

Cons: Surprisingly large.

Other Thoughts: This fan is huge. I bought it for my mATX build, and it occupies all room from the Gfx card to the bottom of the case, front to back. It was not possible to route cables around it before install, and nearly impossible to do after the fact.

5 out of 5 eggsCool and Quiet

Pros: It keeps my 5820K running at 4.5Ghz 1.20V at 55C under full load. It is super quiet, almost inaudible.

Cons: Ram compatibility due to clearance issues.

Other Thoughts: This CPU cooler is massive, its almost the size of my head. Make sure that your RAM, case and motherboard are compatible.

5 out of 5 eggsNoctua NH-D14 SE2011

Pros: Great cooling solution with 6 heatpipes dual radiator for a LGA 2011-v3 X99 platform. Installation was simple and the included hardware is of high quality. The LGA 2011 mounting system, SecuFirm2, is very secure to the motherboard. Several adapters are included to control the fans and it can be made even quieter with low noise adapters. The included thermal compound, Noctua NT-H1 is easy to apply. The cpu cooler is large, there is no doubt about that, but there were no issues in installing it over G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 DDR4 ram with medium size heat spreaders. It readily fit inside an Antec 300 case, which is not a particularly large case. The fans are quality with good bearings for longevity and low noise.

The NH-D14 keeps temperatures reasonable on an overclocked 6-core i7-5820k. An overclocked 5820k, at 4.3 GHz and 1.25 V the temperature was reasonable at full load for long periods of time. The cpu cooler performs very well and that has been shown in the many reviews online showing its performance compared to other high end air cooling.

Cons: More expensive than some other cpu coolers. The color of the fans is not the most appealing as it does not match with most motherboard color schemes. There may be issues clearing RAM that has cooling fans, so be sure to consider that.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent product

Pros: Excellent temp reduction from a hyper 212 evo, at least 5-10 degrees celsius at idle. Haven't overclocked my xeon 1650 yet, but I don't anticipate cooling being a bottleneck.

Cons: It's big. Do your measurements and research, don't assume it'll just fit. Noctua has a list of compatible motherboards on their website.

Other Thoughts: Get it if you can't get the D15. Better temps than water cooling in some cases.
