5 out of 5 eggsGreat MP3 player

Pros: Been using for over 4 years now, using to go to the gym, and have has zero problems with it. Easy to load songs, great battery life. Addition of the SD card allows me to load a ton of music.

Cons: Display is a little small, but I bought it knowing that (and I prefer the monochromatic display as opposed to the newer ones with color, which have larger screens/larger overall footprint.

2 out of 5 eggsNot reliable

Pros: small, and hold a lot of stuff. So cheap it got me to buy 2 of these things after I broke my first one.

The problem is I bricked the second one I owned on the first day of ownership... another downside so cheap I didn't even bother to deal with the hassel of the return because it was only 25 bucks.....

Cons: Extremely fragile easy to lose. Really slow,

And apparently easy to brick.
plugged it into my computer to load music onto it the SANSA symbol came up and it seemed like it wasn't doing anything. I shut it off, then I couldn't get it to boot up after that.. I bricked my second device

Other Thoughts: Seems like it was a well thought out and well designed little guy and is really cheap to buy. I think that I just possibly had the worst luck out there. idk for sure.. but it got me twice I wont buy a 3rd.

2 out of 5 eggsLasted 1 1/2 yrs of light use

Pros: Worked well while it lasted.

Cons: Died after 1 1/2 yrs of very light use. Tried for warranty repair but warranty is 1 yr only. Used with treadmill in house for aprox 3 hrs a week during winter. That's not durable IMHO.

Other Thoughts: I have 2 more and am crossing my fingers. I think 3 years of light use would be more avg.

3 out of 5 eggsyes, it does break easily

Pros: Nice design, Rockbox friendly, standard mini USB port for charging/connecting.

Cons: It died after 10 months of normal usage. In fact I've owned four Sansa products and thee of them failed within about 1.5 years or less. (The fourth is a bit less than a year old, so I expect it will fail in another few months.)

Other Thoughts: It wouldn't be so bad if Sandisk offered a longer warranty, but they are very firm about the 1-year expiration. My Clip+ died after only about 10 months, but unfortunately I procrastinated and didn't contact Sansa until 14 months after purchase, at which time the warranty had expired. Well, I cannot fault them for not honoring a warranty they never agreed to. But I CAN fault them for selling shoddy products which need to be replaced every 1-1.5 years.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: - I use it when I work out everyday and get sweat all over it (attached to my waistband) and I've never had a problem with it.
- Still working great after 1 year.
- Doesn't list .flac as a supported format but reads it perfectly fine.
- Charges quickly.

Cons: - A longer USB cable would have been better.

Other Thoughts: If you ever have issues with this player (as some have) it will be because you either didn't charge it or you didn't read the instructions. I highly recommend this if you don't need anything extravagant.

2 out of 5 eggsBreaks easily

Pros: Small, lightweight and a decent interface. The radio is a plus to.

Cons: I've gone through 2 of these. Each one immediately stopped working the minute a small amount of sweat touched it. If you plan on using this during workouts -- DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS. it will break on you quickly. They also had issues reading SD cards other readers had no problems with.

This thing would be great but they break way to easily for me to recommend one. Save your money and get something better.

5 out of 5 eggsFavorite music player

Pros: Small, light, real buttons, good clip, plays open source codecs.

Cons: nothing

Other Thoughts: I prefer the Sansa clips over the Fuze. I originally bought a Fuze+ for the larger screen, but got frustrated with the sensitivity of the touch pad. I bought a clip for one of my kids and liked it enough to buy another for myself, then wife, and finally another child.

Connects to Linux just fine for loading music. Runs well with Rockbox firmware as well (can dual boot with original firmware).

5 out of 5 eggs2yrs old and still fine

Pros: Works reliably

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I waited for this review for over two years. I've used this MP3 player with an 8 gig card which holds my whole music collection with 2 gigs to spare. I use it in my shop hooked to a sound system and use it a lot with a 120V-USB charger when needed. No problems at all.
