3 out of 5 eggsWorked Great for 3 months

Pros: Cheap, holds a decent # of songs, clips onto shirt, sound quality decent.

Cons: Clip holding mp3 player to shirt broke first, then battery died after 3 months of daily use.

Other Thoughts: I used it a lot, and it performed well for the 3 months that it was operational. I thought it was a good buy at the time, but I would have liked to have gotten 1 year out of it before replacing it.

Spend a little more cash on something a bit better.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Small and light. Easy to use.

Cons: Died after two months. Can't replace the battery so you get to buy another brand.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money on this one.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Works as advertised. Works just like a USB flash drive in the proper mode, so it works on any OS.

Cons: No battery access. Someday, if the battery ever fails completely, the entire device must be replaced

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk

Pros: None, zero, zilch!!!

Cons: Arrived without install disc that the "short" user guide said was the first thing you should do with the unit or all the functions would not work. Contacted Sandisk's web site and asked for the disc and their response was that the disc was only for using the computer to load songs and they gave me a web site to download it. Did so and loaded some songs but the unit would never work right and I complained again and they told me to download the 'REAL' users manual from their web site and it didn't help either. Almost all on the units functions will NOT work such as simply adjusting the output volume and getting around on the screen. It appears that even the touch screen only works when it feels like it and for some things, not at all. This thing isn't worth wasting my time over anymore; I'm giving up and will NEVER buy a Sandisk item again, ever!!!

1 out of 5 eggsPitiful!!!

Pros: Absolutely none!

Cons: Player came with no setup disk which the instructions said was needed to get all the player's functions to work. Emailed Sandisk for a disk and they gave me a runaround about having to register the thing and told me to enter the serial number, of which I could find no source of either in or on the packaging or on the player. All the functions, such as simply changing output volume, etc. would not work. Instead of offering useable assistance, the Sandisk response was to put me to work to find solutions to the problems on their web site.

NO MORE SANDISK for me!!!

1 out of 5 eggsDead after 1-2 months

Pros: Small
Great Battery Life
Easy to Use
Clip is good for working out
Good sound

Cons: Bought this twice, died twice randomly!

Other Thoughts: Great MP3 player, which is why I bought another one after the first one died. But the second one died as well, and only after a few months!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive and works well.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This isn't an ipod, but it's pretty nice for a basic MP3 player. The radio works, the menu system is decent, and so on.

5 out of 5 eggsNice player

Pros: Small, physical buttons and built-in clip - Nice for sticking on a belt loop or something and I don't need to check it when changing songs or volume.

MicroSDHC card - Already had a couple 16GB cards lying around, but if you don't, you could pick one up and get a player with 20GB storage for a reasonable price.

Cost - Was on sale when I got it. Not that the normal price is bad, but the sale put it at a price point where I could bang it around and be fine with it.

Sound quality - Picked up a decent set of Sennheiser IEMs over the summer, and I'd say the Clip easily sounds better than my smartphone (Galaxy S3).

Drag & drop file management system - No need to mess around with another application.

Rockbox - Used it in the past before Sandisk added FLAC support to their MP3 players, but even though they seem to play FLACs natively now it still adds some helpful features.

FM Tuner - Won't use it much since with the MicroSDHC slot I have enough space to put a large chunk of my music collection on it, but it's nice to know I can listen to it if needed.

Cons: Not really Cons, but:

I'm still used to the older style Sansa players which had the dial-style volume control that had the dial that went around the buttons. Occasionally find myself feeling around for that until I remember the buttons on the side.

I kind of agree with a previous reviewer. I would have gladly payed the extra couple bucks for a metal clip and casing, just for that extra bit of durability.

Other Thoughts: I'd have to say this is my first "new" Sansa. Normally I just jump on refurbs that fall into the sub $30 range and abuse them till they collapse, but when a sale put this new clip into that range, I had to grab one.

My last one was a refurbished Fuze+ which I wasn't too crazy about. Wasn't a fan of the capacitive buttons and it died after only a few months. That's when I switched to my smartphone for music. I was never crazy about the sound quality of most phones, and was never a fan of having to dig out my phone and unlock it whenever I needed to change songs.

When I saw this on sale for the price of a decent smartphone case with a clip on it, I had to grab one. At least this way it's the cheapo MP3 player exposed to the elements and not my phone.
