5 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal with NA & Euro Maps!

Pros: It comes with both North America and Europe maps, which is a huge $$ Plus! We are currently residing in Germany but return to the US for the summer, and this is the perfect setup. It has served our purposes well. We have had a few problems with it (died when left without charger), but the on-line FAQ's quickly explained how to do a soft reset, and we were back in action. Map updates have been relatively easy. Map data is, for the most part, accurate and useful. As with any GPS device, always follow the sailor's maxim that you NEVER RELY ON A SINGLE MEANS OF NAVIGATION, and doing so leaves you what I call "GPS Stupid" which is akin to being "Mapquested."

Cons: The touch screen is rather clunky. We've found that at times it takes you on a route that we know to be less than desirable, which is probably a feature of any GPS and rel to how you set it up (ie short vs. fastest route, etc). As noted, it locked up at least once, so know ahead of time how to do a soft reset (hold the "on" button, the only button, down for 15 sec or something like that). And know how to recalibrate the touch screen. So far, we have not had problems with the size of the internal memory/data base noted in other reviews. Although advertised as slim/compact, it is rather large and inconvenient in your pocket when walking.

Other Thoughts: Very few other options if you want both NA and Euro maps preinstalled. To add one of these maps to a unit with just one installed adds $100. to the cost of it. Given that, this is a great deal.

2 out of 5 eggstoo expensive compare to other models

Pros: Bluetooth and Europe map

Cons: Will not save anything if it is not from the internal memory, that is a no no because it consumes all the precious memory for any update software for America and Europe maps.
I already wrote a review yesterday Oct. 8 but deleted it, may be because it is too negative, I don't like NewEgg did it that way.

Other Thoughts: There is a slot for an external micro SD card that can recognize size up to 16 gig, but...what for? You can save jpg pictures to be able to watch from its picture viewer folder, but you can not save them as wallpaper or as an icon from "Favorite" folder. Once saved, and you exit, when you come back the wallpaper is blank or the icon is blank. After so many frustration trials n errors I found out the only reason those pictures will appear again on any place that you saved on the GPS is you have to save them "locally" on the internal memory, which in turn also means they will comsume all your precious internal memory for any update for the two maps that you have on your GPS: America and Europe. I have another GPS the Garmin NUvi 360 which did save on the external memory as my choice, but not forcing to use by default to its internal memory like this Gamin 1370t. I just wonder what Garmin intent its use for the external memory.

1 out of 5 eggsnuvi 1370t

Pros: I bought this nuvi 1370t to replace the 755t that I bought few months ago only for the fact this 1370t has Bluetooth. Last week in California I almost got a ticket, when I answered a call while driving right behind a cop car. I forgot that california law forbid talking while driving. I am from Phoenix. So I bought this one to correct that problem, also since I do vacation every year in Europe, I bought this 1370t for that purpose too.

Cons: Switching from the 755t to this I am a little disappointed. Because this 1370t has no music player or I can't play any MP3, it does not read book too.
There is no use for the micro SD card, and I really don't know its use too.
I can not save anything on the external micro SD memory, except to plug it to my pc, then save from there. But please note anything saved on the external micro SD memory card will be useless with the GPS. I Can watch all my jpg (though its size is very small, only 40 - 60 KB) pictures but not save to my GPS at all. So frustrated, and after so many trials n errors I found out, if you want to save any of those pictures (the one reside on the external micro SD card), lets' say as a wallpaper, you have to move them to the internal memory of the GPS, which also means they will consume all the precious internal memory that are important for some important of the GPS.

Other Thoughts: For short the micro SD card is useless!!!l, then what is the use of the extra memory???? This comes up with the reply to CCNA. you mention this 1370t does recognized the 16 gig micro SD, but what for? All the downloads, update maps: America and Europe maps, they just by default go directly into the internal memory, which I see it has only about 40 MB left. I tried very hard to switch or to force it to save on my micro SD card (a brand new Sandisk 16 that I just bought from Adorama), but it just ignores my request, and from the connection of my 1370t to my pc. I am very surprised to see from Garmin co. all the updates go directly to the internal memory, which I don't want at all, because they will fill up the internal memory and the Garmin will cease working soon, once it is full, while my 16 gig micro SD is still empty and waited to be filled!
CCNA should not mention about the micro SD, instead should complain, also what is its use? what can you do with the external micro SD card?

4 out of 5 eggsSlow to acquire stats at times

Pros: Map coverage is impressive. I bought it primarily for the US/Canada/Europe maps, and it's gotten me safely where I needed to be, with one caveat.

Cons: Sat acquisition is slow at times, and has required a reboot. Worst case was in downtown SanFran where it took almost 10 minutes to figure out where it was. My guess was urban setting, but still

1 out of 5 eggs1370T defective unit

Pros: 1370T comes with Europe maps, a big step up from most GPS units. The directions are clear, and the setting options make this GPS easily customized.

Cons: I bought a lemon, clearly. My Garmin would unexplainably shut off, though fully charged. When I emailed Garmin to have it replaced and subsequently received a replacement, they had not included a traffic updater/charger cord like the one I sent off. When I requested that it be replaced, the rep said it would be a $60 charge (and that was "half off!") to replace it. I only realized later that the original email requested that no cords be sent, but then the rep said that my cord had been lost and could not be tracked. So, now I'm stuck with a traffic-alert Garmin with no traffic alert cord...and my product is useless. Thanks for the great product, Garmin! Do NOT buy this product.

Other Thoughts: Terrible Garmin customer service.

5 out of 5 eggsSatisfied

Pros: Speed limit indicator works very well.

Compared to my older nuvi:

Noticeably faster route recalculation time.
Noticeably faster satellite acquisition.

MicroSD Card slot (Will accept my 16GB MicroSD card)

Customization capabilities that will keep most people satisfied.

(Free vehicles/icons can be downloaded from Garmin's website)

Cons: Vehicle icons are limited to ones Garmin provides.

Traffic indicator is not useful to me.

Other Thoughts: Very accurate speedometer.

Faster positional refresh rate.
