1 out of 5 eggsEconomy indicator

Pros: Good price.

Cons: Would lock up. Locked up when I needed to go to a job interview. Pulled battery, booted super slow. Two weeks out of warranty. Screen went to the map detail disappearing. Then the screen went blank. Would still tell me when to turn. Then after three days of this, no more boot. Still makes a really slow storage device, like I care. Grrrr...

Other Thoughts: I would like a GPS that is a GPS, not a camera, not an MP3 player, not a USB storage device, no WiFi. Oh, and how about one that lasts. Any US company out there remember a thing called Quality?

4 out of 5 eggsNice GPS... decent other features.

Pros: Light, cheap, easy to use, and bright. Weather feature is nice, and being able to use WiFi is kinda cool as well.
It's very slim, and stylish... easily mistaken-able for a phone. The screen is large and a pretty decent quality resolution.
It also came with plenty of internal memory, with the ability for additional memory with a microSD slot. Plenty for any map that'll ever come out anytime soon, along with some pictures.
It picked up "walking" really well. My other Nuvi (1390 for vehicles) doesn't seem as accurate as this, but maybe I'm crazy. But it did pick up my exact position on the map (+/- 5 feet) and my walking speed... This would be perfect for vehicle use and walking around town, in my opinion, which is pretty much why I settled on it.
Also, I like how the battery is easily accessible, and the cover seems quite secure. (The rest of it is quite sturdy as well)
As with most Garmin items, it came stocked with plenty of accessories, a USB Cable, Car Charger, mounting system,

Cons: I think it's a resistive touchscreen, so it's not the most "accurate" touch system in the world. It gets by, but sometimes it gets annoying. It's also kinda important to note that, even when you touch it lightly (I'm not smashing it by any means), you can see the "distortion" of the LCD because you're adding pressure. Even very small amounts. I'm kinda worried about how it will hold up, but we'll see.
The WiFi won't connect unless you're quite close to the router... I'm guessing they smashed the antenna in where it could fit and it doesn't get exceptional reception. I read about this in other reviews, so I knew about it ahead of time. But the main function is the GPS here, not the WiFi.
Sometimes the screen will rotate when you don't want it to, but I haven't really seen an electronic that doesn't have that issue.
The camera could stand to be better quality, but, seriously... it's a cheap GPS, not a 600 dollar cell phone.

Other Thoughts: This was a GREAT price and deal from newegg at the time... which is why I picked it up. It may have its flaws, but for 75 bucks, it's hard to pass up a new Garmin GPS unit.

3 out of 5 eggsMust be kidding!

Pros: i bought this for gps! to be fair, I will only grade this on gps. fast & accurate, easy installation, easy to understand menu, includes mounting kit, small and doesn't block your view, remembers your recent entries.

Cons: voice is ugly, speaker is VERY weak, no traffice report, shortest time is dumb because took me 30 more minutes following its direction, screen dims while gps is active while driving like 5 min. battery life is pretty short, it speaks whenever it likes (no adjustment on how often you like to have an update on distance, estimate time of arrival, etc.) doesn't learn about the way I like to travel each morning.

Other Thoughts: The followings are not graded (eggs) in the review.

Camera = plus (but picture quality is really bad, won't work under low light); Web & email = plus (but screen is too small to display all the information), no setting for media card (format, listing of files, copy, delete, etc); web browser does NOT play youtube, pandora or yahoo music.

this unit needs many improvement: starting with a better speaker & camera;

I will pay twice or three times as much if has the following:
1. web browser plays youtube & yahoo music
2. support video files
3. bluetooth for stereo audio (play music or movie)
4. capability of organizing files
5. Sync with PC on address book, mp3, movies, etc.
6. FM transimitter, so your car stereo announce the direction and plays the music.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: For the money it's a great little gps. For me it aquired the signal quite quickly. Weather reports is a great feature. I love the fact that you can replace your battery just like in a cellphone. My last garmin had to be sent in to change the battery.

Cons: Camera is not great quality. When ever I tried to use the internet it locked up. Too small really for surfing anyway. Don't want to really be too critical since I paid less than 100 bucks

4 out of 5 eggsGood product that needs a bit of fine-tuning

Pros: GPS: I give a 5 star for the GPS feature. It works every time and pretty accurate

MP3 player: I give a 4 for the MP3 Player feature. It's not bad at all. I do have iPod nano. Featurewise, Nano is better but sound qualitywise, not bad!

WI-FI feature: I give a 3 stars. I can connect to the internet via wi-fi, check my stocks and weather. That's about it. Browsing the internet on this thing is NOT ideal! It crawls big time. A faster CPU and faster OS like Android instead of Linux may help tremendously. But keep in mind the price (good price for what it offers)

TouchScreen: Don't expect it to be like iPhone, Touch, or iPad. It uses a resistive touch screen technology which is sluggish and not quite accurate.

Cons: WI-FI connectivity is very weak. Web browsing is painful. Touch screen sucks! These three things combined can give you a heart attack! <---if you were to compare it to iPad, iPhone, Touch, or Samsung Galaxy.

Other Thoughts: A product like this at this price range. (I paid $90 at NewEgg), I would say buy it! This is a little gadget that wants to be everything. Unfortunately, it is not. BUT fortunately, there are features that I like and that they work VERY well for me. GPS and MP3 player. I use GPS and MP3 Player concurrently and they both work very well. Of course, the speaker is weak but I don't expect it to be blasting. Ultra portable GPS system which is the way I like it. Suggestion: Update the maps as soon as you open the box and connect it to the computer via the USB. It takes about 30 minutes to do that. Overall, if you are looking primarily for a good GPS system yet still want to be able to play around with other built-in features, BUY IT! IT's worth it for the price but keep your expectation low for the Touch Screen and Wi-Fi technology. Good luck. Good try, Garmin! Now add a faster CPU, a faster OS, and faster Wi-Fi, you'll make it there.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat as a GPS

Pros: It's a great gps with extras that come with it, camera and other gadgets. I use it mainly as a gps. I love Garmin for it's GPS capabilities...Garmin rocks!!!

It's slim, compact, light, very portable. Faster processor than my Nuvi 360.

You get a free map update after registering which you have 60 days to do their site states, however I calculated less than 30 days so I have to get on that quick.

Cons: -It came in a brown box, strange but it works

-The sound is very low despite having it on the highest volume compared to my Nuvi 360.

-It has a 2.5 mm jack, I will need to get an adapter if I decide to use the mp3 player.

-The web browser is horrible, extremely slow, don't expect to do any surfing on this thing, I will use my iphone over this thing. I would have to be really desperate to use this browser. Even with Wifi it doesn't work good at all...NOT made for surfing the web!!!

-Megapixels are horrible as well when trying to surf.

-I brought up one web page to try it out, I will never try it again

Other Thoughts: in 2008 I bought my Nuvi 360 for $220, I'm regretting that now but what can I do? I did get this off of another site that has to do with a river for $74 and a free case.

Would I get it again, yes! For the GPS and the extras are nice too!

Garmin has a lot to do with their Wifi if they want to keep up with the competition.

5 out of 5 eggsBuy it!

Pros: GPS & Wi-Fi worked flawlessly on out and about last weekend. Found everything on out of town area was not at all familiar with, driving or walking. Did not have to drag along laptop. Have no idea what others complained about it acquired satellites really well.

Cons: Takes abit of getting used to, but once you get familiar with the apps everything worked well.

Other Thoughts: Was going to upgrade phone & package to Android OS just to get the GPS apps. Would have cost an extra $30/month as well as a couple of hundred for the phone. Bought this at awesome price. Immediately downloaded SW and map (2011) updates through Garmin, found recently finished 4 lane highway my buddy's TomTom still thinks doesn't exist. Have no need for MP3 so haven't used it yet, camera will come in handy as I take this with me all the time.
