1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy this piece of organic matter

Pros: Functional none, but it could be used as a nightlight. I suppose in self defense, it could be used as a shiny thing to lure evil doers away, failing that a very wimpy blunt object.

Cons: 1 No realistic app source, I examined the sites offering support, and found nothing of worth. 2. The touch screen is worthless. 3. Its wifi range makes it worthless as a network device. 4. to refer to it as useless is a insult to all the other worthless devices.

Other Thoughts: This tablet is one of the causes of toxic waste, I can't even in good conscience throw it in the trash. If I give it away, it will only cause frustration in another persons life. I will not buy anything from them or any of the companys under the Curtis umbrella.

1 out of 5 eggsNot such a good value anymore :(

Pros: cheap

Cons: I let my kid hold it for a second and she dropped it 12 inches off the ground causing multiple cracks on the left side of the screen, so naturally the left touch sensors don't work now. I looked online and called Curtis about the screen and they told me they don't make replacement screens. So not only does the screen crack VERY EASY, but such cracks render it almost useless, leaving you with the options of either finding a used one for spare parts, or just replacing the whole tablet.

Other Thoughts: This company lost a customer for life because they don't make spare parts for their tablets so people are forced to buy new ones if theirs breaks. It's called planned obsolescence, and its a predatory business practice that I find deplorable.

4 out of 5 eggsBest Value Budget Tablet - Refurbished

Pros: Good processor, good expandability, and HDMI. The processor is solid for the price and a 32GB card makes it even sweeter for the power user that likes to carry around videos,mp3s, and still have room for apps for my kids to play when we're waiting somewhere. The kicker is the HDMI port. I can't believe how well this thing displays in 1080p, no lag, no skipping, real smooth. You simply can't beat that for $45.

Cons: Poor app market support, No Camera, Weak Battery. Dosen't support Google Play, Netflix, or Amazan Appstore which are three big strikes against it, but in todays world you can just download the video files from a torrent site and just watch them straight from the tablet. Another strike is that it has NO CAMERA, not even a weak one, so if you like to skype/video chat this one ain't for you. I'm sure you can do some tweaking to it to fix the app store issues, if you care to invest the time & research it, but you can't fix a missing camera so I took off one star. The battery runs our relatively quickly, my kids can burn through a full charge in 2 hours playing their games.

Other Thoughts: If it didn't have the hdmi port, I might have given it a 3-star rating. The screen takes some getting use to but I'm sure thats the case with all budget tablets so I didn't count that against the score. I got a great deal for the two I ordered because they were refurbished, I would never have paid the origional retail price for them though with all the cons it has.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT BUY!

Pros: This is an awesome tablet for the money i was surprised.

Cons: Uses a rebate... I HATE REBATES! Also does not have access to some mainstream apps tho most are there. Wish it used good old google play but its app store is functional and has plenty of apps

3 out of 5 eggsIt is what it is!

Pros: It works. It's not fast by any means and the tap/zoom touch screen is not very responsive. All this said, I got it for $69 and then a $30 rebate. That's $40 for an android tablet that runs Skype, YouTube, and other apps I need for a project. Not a bad value considering the final cost.

Cons: It's slow and touch screen is not very responsive. More functionality, is available but you will have to mess with it.
Try googling the OS and CPU to explore your options, otherwise I recommend getting a newer tablet that does what you want.

Other Thoughts: I bought this Tab to use the remote GoPro wifi camera app. Once I finally got it on, It worked and I was a happy camper. This is a tinkerers Tablet. Often you need to search for the APK file and manually load the app you need. If you're not afraid to brick it, you can find ways around its limitations... add google play etc... etc... If tinkering is not your forte I would suggest getting a more modern tablet.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent enough for the price

Pros: The cheapest tablet I've ever found in new-ish condition in America. Shipped so quickly compared to the ones found on auction sites from China.

Real ARM Cortex A8 processor with NEON and VFPv3 instruction sets! This alone sets it apart from many of the fraudulent copies on the internet. A wonderful development tab once the RK29 chipset drivers are installed.

For the curious, Flash (and likely AIR as well) install and function just fine from Adobe's "Archived Flash Player versions" page. I'm watching a Flash animation right now in the browser. Light games also work (like drag racing, parking 3D, and what have you).

Very easy to install Google Market with any degree of technical experience. Or, for that matter, instruction following ability, because there are plenty of guides online (search for this guy's little brother, the 7033, for which the process is identical).

PowerAmp works on here (so audio can be spectacular), as do some CM mods (the DSP manager in particular deserves special mention), and videos (AVC-HP) seem to play well, even at high resolutions. Coupled with HDMI, this is quite a multimedia treat for just over fifty bucks.

Get it for:
- Listening to music on the bus
- Watching movies (of no more than 2.5hrs duration, of course, with wifi off, brightness low, and optional underclock)
- eBooks (not the best screen at WVGA, but certainly tolerable at medium to medium-large font sizes!)
- Light web browsing, checking email
- Emergency/secondary WiFi cell phone (side-load Talkatone for VOIP from your Google voice account)
- DEVELOPMENT. Seriously, if you are just getting into development, you or your students should consider this device.

Cons: Unfortunately, the advertisement is still a lie -- the processor's maximum frequency on my device is 912MHz. That's over 30% less speed. Said another way, this tablet is only about 75% as fast as they claim at best. In this case, clock speed makes all the difference, because one generic ARM Cortex-A8 is as good as another (1 BogoMIPS per MHz).

Also the fact that I had to spend a whopping 5 minutes installing the Play market is a bit of a bummer (more so to others than myself, but these reviews are for everyone's benefit and it's true a lot of people will be daunted by the installation process).

It deserves to be mentioned that graphically intensive games (including Subway Surfers), multi-touch games, and so on do not run smoothly or at all. This is partially due to the lack of GPU throughput (Vivante GC800 with shoddy drivers).

Battery life is poor. Expect under 2 hours of heavy use (unless you're using it with the screen off, disconnected from the internet, and/or underclocked, in which case you can actually squeeze out close to 5 in some cases!).

Other Thoughts: Somewhat solid device. Obviously, an older resistive screen means there is no multi-touch support, and this device is certainly no exception. Most people wouldn't notice unless playing games that require multi-touch (which, for better or for worse, the device can't really handle anyway), or zooming in on photos and web sites, which requires a double-tap on this device.

Benchmark (performance governor at 912MHz): 2679 in Antutu 3.2.1. (RAM 484, CPUi 563, CPUf 142, 2D 293, 3D 729, dbIO 250, SDw 73, SDr 145). Not terrible -- about 3/5 the score of a Samsung Galaxy S, weaker mostly on the graphics side.

I have not personally tested the HDMI port. My experience on similar devices leads me to believe it should work, though, without much effort (really, plug and chug, and there's an HDMI settings pane in Android Settings).

1 out of 5 eggsFinally the specs

Pros: touchscreen has good accuracy but NOT Multi touch like most Android 4.0 games require. this tablet should have never went to Android 4.0 & stayed with 2.2 if it couldn't include the standard feature required to run most 4.0 apps
Has a G-meter. why they can't list that on it's page is beyond me

Cons: Does NOT support GOOGLE play even if you install manually. Kindle doesn't work either
SlideME market place works 100% FINE, but it won't let you use anything else. If you update SlideME then you have to create an account to log in, just to view any free downloads. so either choose to stay with original version or create an account
Wifi is very shotty unless you are very close to the antenna

Other Thoughts: i didn't notice what Ereader app it came with, if any

Pros: Seems to function as advertised accept for the micro SD issue.

Cons: I inserted my micro sd card and it just slid all the way into the device, now its wedged inside so I cant get out the card but cant add storage.

Other Thoughts: wouldn't purchase again.

1 out of 5 eggsRemember the Robot from Lost in Space?

Pros: It didn't explode when I took it out of the box.

Cons: The device is a con.

Other Thoughts: The Lost in Space Robot is waving his arms screaming "DANGER!" Do not buy this. Forget you ever saw it.
