2 out of 5 eggsBeware: Incomplete!

Pros: Good Specs; Reasonably Fast CPU; Decent Build Quality

Cons: HDD/Caddy Not Included; Unusable Out-Of-The-Box

I've had pretty good luck with Lenovo ThinkServer systems in the past (RD230) but now that they're no longer available, I switched up to the RD330.

Unfortunately, unless you buy a [ridiculously overpriced] HDD+Caddy "kit" from Lenovo, there's no way to add your own SATA/SAS drives: this unit comes with four hot-swap HDD slots on the front, but three only have dummy façades, and the other is completely empty. And there's no way, as far as I can tell, to buy empty caddies.

Similarly, I was hoping to add a second E5-2420 CPU, but there's no heatsink included for the 2nd LGA1356 socket. (That's not a show-stopper, by any stretch of the imagination, but I just wanted to make sure you know what you do and don't get...) I guess that's why the Newegg page lists only "1 CPU" whereas the Lenovo Tech Specs say Dual Socket.

Other Thoughts: This unit wasn't meant to be sold separately, I don't think... It's more of a bare-bones system that was meant to have additional configuration options added to it before being shipped out the door.
