TRITTON XBOX 360 Warhead 7.1 Wireless Headset

Cut the Cord

TRITTON's Warhead 7.1 Wireless Surround Headset is a truly wireless solution - no need to connect a chat cable to your Xbox 360 gaming controller! A robust 5.8GHz wireless signal ensures interference-free operation from other 2.4GHz wireless devices and provides crystal-clear audio at a range of 33 feet. Hear immersive 7.1 Dolby Headphone surround sound through a pair of precision-tuned 50mm speakers featuring Neodymium magnets. With two rechargeable battery packs for 24/7 gaming, one battery always charging on the base station means you can simply swap in a fresh pack whenever the headset needs more energy.

Immersive 7.1 Surround Sound Powered by Dolby Headphone Technology

Dolby Headphones provide 7.1-channel surround sound to enhance directional awareness and create a detailed, spacious audio landscape which sounds as if it's beyond the limits of the headset. Hearing each and every disturbance within a game's environment gives you the competitive advantage by enabling you to locate hostiles long before they sense your presence.

True Wireless Xbox 360 Voice Chat

Gone are the days of tethering a controller to your head. The lack of a chat cable or adapter provides an all-new level of gaming freedom previously unheard of on the Xbox 360 console.

Premium 5.8GHz Wireless Technology Delivers Crisp Audio

The Warhead 7.1's proprietary 5.8GHz wireless technology offers far superior audio clarity when compared to the industry standard 2.4GHz. Many wireless products on the market today are on the 2.4GHz band, so if your headset operates within this frequency, it's prone to interference from cordless phones, Bluetooth devices, Wi-Fi routers, and even your microwave oven. The Warhead 7.1's 5.8GHz wireless range sidesteps potential interference by utilizing a less crowded frequency.

Dual Rechargeable Battery Packs with On-Screen Readout

One battery pack powering the headset and another charging in the base station means you can freely swap whenever the on-screen indicator informs you that the headset is low on juice. The included AC adapter provides the means for each pack to charge whether the Xbox 360 console is on or off, and a handy LED indicator lets you know when a battery is ready for action.

Easy-to-Locate On-Ear Controls

Intuitive placement of all controls provides simple adjustability without the need to remove the headset. Frequently used controls are easy to find at a moment's notice – mute the mic, independently adjust game and chat volume, turn SVM on/off, switch inputs, and even toggle EQ settings – all while keeping your eyes on your monitor.

Selectable EQ Settings for Games, Movies, and Music

Need to give your hands a break from a stint of marathon gaming? Take a well-earned rest and catch a movie or kick back and listen to your favorite tunes. The equalizer settings on the headset's base station help maintain your media's original acoustic properties and allow you to fine-tune your personal audio experience.

Separate Game and Voice Volume Controls

If the chatter from your online rivals gets distracting and starts to hinder your gameplay experience, just turn a dial on the headset to quickly tune them out. Game volume can also be adjusted on-the-fly, so you can drown out your foe's voice but still hear stealthy in-game footsteps creeping up behind you.

Hear Your Own Voice with Selectable Voice Monitoring (SVM)

SVM allows you to choose whether or not you want to hear your voice through the headset. When certain situations - like those late-night gaming sessions - dictate that you talk softly or loudly into the mic, easily activate/deactivate SVM with the push of a button and take control of all your conversations.

Includes Everything Needed to Connect to Any Xbox 360

Whether your console is legacy or current-gen and connected to a display via HDMI or component/VGA/composite, the Warhead 7.1 is ready to go right out of the box. All required cables and adapters are included to help ensure you can connect to any Xbox 360 within minutes.

Ergonomically Designed for Extreme Comfort

Headset comfort is of utmost importance during extended gaming sessions. The Warhead 7.1 keeps your ears comfy with its padded, adjustable headrail – which extends an extra 1.25 inches on either side to accommodate a wide range of head sizes – and soft, pliable earcups which encapsulate your ears in an immersive sound field while keeping ambient sounds at bay. The earcups also swivel to provide a comfortable around-the-neck resting position.

Amplified 50mm Speakers with Neodymium Magnets

Neodymium drivers are the highest quality available for use in commercial headsets. Each earcup houses a 50mm speaker, which outputs high-fidelity game and chat audio for rich bass and crisp undistorted highs.

Durable Performance Mic Can Be Removed When Not in Use

When not communicating over Xbox LIVE, and just listening to music or watching a film, a headset's microphone only gets in the way. Problem solved with the Warhead 7.1 Surround Headset's removable solution – it provides the freedom to use the mic only when necessary.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat at first

Pros: These sound awesome!, No wire for Xbox Live chat; Super!, keep sound in; Yes!, easy to connect; Yes! Two batteries, Awesome!

Cons: After 8 months of owning these Triton Warheads, utter disappointment, the unit is falling apart, microphone quit working and the speakers started to squelch, ear pads just fell apart , I am currently RMA'ing my set.
I have 2 other sets of Turtle Beach xp400, although the Triton's seam more, elite, better sounding, easy to connect, My 2 year old sets of XP400 are still rocking like they were new. If I could only combine them together.

Other Thoughts: great product but seems to lack in the durability category. Which is really odd, they sound better, look cooler, have a better microphone setup, but then seem to fail shortly

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for games and movies

Pros: Wireless, good sound, long battery life, 2 batteries + charger, well built, comfortable, detachable mic

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: These have proved perfect for late night gaming and/or movies...when you don't want to wake people. The surround works great for FPS games, as you can tell which direction sounds are coming from. I love having the extra battery, and how long they last, very convenient.

2 out of 5 eggsDo Not Buy

Pros: Great game sound. NO WIRES. Very comfy on your head. Quality sound. Sound depth and crispness.

Cons: Very flimsy, does not last long

Other Thoughts: I bought this headset because I heard it was good and Newegg had a great sale price for it (originally $250 sale for $119) so I figured instead of buying astros I'd give these a shot. They got to me and worked fine as can be, but one day out of nowhere the left speaker for game sound just blew out and was completely distorted and "staticy". It also doesn't help that Tritton's repairs take at least 2-3 weeks with shipping and processing. If you have $250 to spend I recommend Astros, you have to deal with wires but at least they wont break within 3 months!

3 out of 5 eggsdecent

Pros: they look nice. wireless. 2 batteries. fairly light. the sound is good. good battery life.

Cons: the bass is fairly weak. you get a nice deafening "POP" when the battery goes out. the mic is okay. I do have to repeat myself sometimes because it cuts in and out. there's a constant hiss when there's no sound.

Other Thoughts: i bought these back during christmas when they were half off, but for 250-300 dollars you could get something better.

5 out of 5 eggsAll around decent

Pros: Pros: Very lightweight
Rechargeable Batteries
Price Tag

Cons: What I do not like about this headset is that if someone screams into the microphone, like children usually do, it becomes very distorted. The problem is very easily fixed by muting said player. Included optical cable is not very long, but I had an extra lying around.

Other Thoughts: I bought these on Newegg for $119.99. At this price it was a very easy decision. I use them with my Xbox, PS3, and even PC after buying an adapter from Microsoft and I couldn't be happier. Fans of the FPS genre will be particularly elated.

3 out of 5 eggsupdate to previous PC review

Pros: Now that I've been using these for 5 months on a regular basis, it is time for an updated review.

The sound quality is still good and I like the easy access to the volume controls & mute function.

Batteries are still lasting plenty of time. I can use one for about 6-8 hours and then pop the other one in.

After the initial few days of working through the setup problems, I've had no other issues keeping the device connected. It works every time without hassle.

Cons: The microphone quality was terrible (on PC) to the point that I gave up trying to get it working any better. It CAN be connected to a PC, but don't bother trying. I have not tested the microphone quality on XBOX. I opted to buy a separate desk stand microphone, the Blue Yeti, which is serving me well.

The other big problem is that over time the material on the ear covers is wearing off. There will be pieces of it stuck to my head after taking the headphones off! That has never happened on any other headphones I've owned, so I assume the material used was not appropriate for these. For this reason I cannot recommend these to frequent headphone users. I have not, but probably will contact support about this issue sometime before the warranty expires.

Other Thoughts: It's still a nice product, but with some glaring flaws that definitely should be addressed coming with this price tag. I hope Tritton makes a similar version specifically for PC with a decent microphone. If not, I would go to another brand next time.

3 out of 5 eggsGood but not great

Pros: Everything they are advertised to be.

Cons: 1) very tight on your ears. Do not expect to play comfortably for more than a few hours. I have to take them off during long gaming sessions.

2) Very easy to inadvertently change the controls on the headset when you try to turn up the volume, adjust the headset because they are tight, mute the mic. I spent lots of time messing around with these because I hit a button by accident.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing..

Pros: Quite possibly the BEST wireless headset I have owned!! They connect fast, they sound amazing, 2 rechargeable batteries, not very heavy, easy to setup, did I mention that they sound amazing??

Cons: A lil bit tight on the head but you'll get used to them.. Expensive.. Chat volume doesn't go up with game audio.. No biggie..

Other Thoughts: Granted they are not a "true" surround sound headset, they work pretty dang well.. LOVE the fact that there is no loud popping or static in them except for when there is no audio (sometimes) and even then its not that noticeable..
