Please read the product description carefully for all unlocked cell phones.

Some unlocked cell phones sold by Newegg may have previously been locked to a specific carrier. A carrier-locked cell phone may often have carrier-specific applications and branding. Some of these applications cannot be unlocked and/or may not function with a different carrier. Also, applications requiring a data plan may result in data usage charges from the original carrier.

In addition, the cell phone box may arrive unsealed and the cell phone may appear previously handled. The unlocking procedure requires unsealing the box and manually handling the cell phone. In this case, the cell phone should not be considered "tampered with" or "defective".

3 out of 5 eggsFirst was great, second defective (screen)

Pros: I've bought this model three times - two for me and one for me sister - because it is a great package for a great price. My original model was great, but the second one... see below.

Cons: My second Palm Pixi Plus had a defective screen which limped along just until the warranty was up. I would have returned it sooner, but Newegg required that I work directly with the warranty department of their wholesaler, which was complicated and difficult. Moral of the story: if there is ANY problem, return ASAP. My sister's model has also had recurrent issues with shutting down unexpectedly.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's really glitchy, but still like it

Pros: It's the perfect size, nice and small. Yes, that means a small screen but I'm willing to make the trade-off. I love that it has wi-fi. I love that it works with Page Plus and I have a great 29.95 monthly plan.

Cons: I've had it now for 8 months and it will just turn off randomly. Multiple times a day. Sometimes in the middle of a conversation. Then I have to pop the battery out and sometimes it takes a couple of tries to restart. Also, the cover edges (maybe because of the repeated need to pop the back off) are peeling away from the phone. And by way of example of the crazy glitches, I had one friend who for whatever reason I could not send or receive any texts from. I looked on the forums and for some reason, without any rhyme or reason, this just happens. He's the only one ever. I had to completely wipe and restart the phone to solve that one. THankfully, it allows you to make a back-up of the data before you do this, but what a pain!

Other Thoughts: Unbelievably, despite all of the cons, I love the little phone. I just wish it worked better. I'm not sure if it will make it to the one year mark fully functioning...

1 out of 5 eggsNot So Happy

Pros: Price is right. Screen is clear. Wifi. MP3 player works well. Picture quality is not good. Email works well except couldn't open a PDF attachment. Works on Page Plus Cellular.

Cons: Shuts off randomly, too small to browse the web, hard to answer the phone. You have to drag your finger up the screen to answer and this is hard to do while driving. Wake up button is in on top of phone and hard to get at. Outdated OS.

Other Thoughts: Three small "cracks" appeared in the screen which made it unusable. The touch screen no longer worked. It was not dropped or mishandled. Don't know where they came from. Many complaints on the net about this issue. Not covered by warranty. Folks complained they couldn't hear me when on a call. Had to revert back to my 3 year old flip phone which works great. I would have been OK with the phone if it had not been rendered useless in less than two months. Never had a phone in 20 years that didn't last at least 3 years until this one.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Price

Pros: Size fits in my pocket. It was a good price, $39.95. It has decent display quality and it's a smart phone. For the price, I didn't expect a lot, but it meets or exceeds my expectations. Let's see how long it works before I get too excited though. I really like that it can be activated on Page Plus Cellular which uses Verizon's network. For $40 bucks, if I don't like it down the road, I can get another phone and not lose much.

Cons: Limited apps. Not much chance of any more WebOS updates. The screen could be larger for viewing the web, but I knew the size before I bought it so not really a con.

Other Thoughts: I bought it on Newegg, received it 4 days later and was making calls two hours after delivery and doing everything online. I did not have to talk to anyone or leave my house. I used Kitty Wireless's website to port my number from Verizon to Page Plus Cellular and it was done in less than one hour. Kitty has posted on their site how to activate the Pixi Plus and the instructions were perfect. .I got the $29.95 plan (1200 minutes, 3000 texts, 100MB data). It cost $29.95 exactly. My Verizon plan was $39.95 for voice only but it really cost $47.50. It would cost about $90/month on Verizon, so great savings. With Page Plus, You can even get a voice/dtext plan without data and still use the Wi-Fi function which you can't do on Verizon. I leave data turned off unless I'm away from a Wi-Fi and need to check my email, etc. I'm not sure how long 100mb will last.

The battery lasts me all day but I'm not a heavy user. I upgraded the OS from 1.4.0 to 1.4.5 and also upgraded the Facebook app.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable Smartphone

Pros: Can activate on page plus and have access to email, web, sms, gps, and calls.

Cons: for the cost, and cost and functionalities on page plus, NONE

Other Thoughts: I picked up this phone back in Jan 2012 after turning in a work cell phone and because of Page Plus using Verizons network, I couldn't be happier. I'm not a heavy cell phone user but it suites all my needs and it never drops calls.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible

Pros: Works ok as an MP3 player, camera and USB storage device.

Cons: Page Plus says the phone is bad, Palm says Page Plus is bad (and charges $15 to say it). JUNK

Other Thoughts: A total waste of money. I'm staying with Tracfone.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Phone!

Pros: This phone is outstanding for what it does. Granted it's not as fast as some of the other Palm phones but it's still great. I can read my twitter quickly through free apps, play games, read my email, etc.

The web browser is one of the best features, it's very reactive and fast. Easy to zoom in and out using two fingers.

This phone will give you alerts to things you want like new emails. You can set it so that you don't even need to look at the screen to know if you have a new message or alert as the thin light will blink white if something happens.

Closing a program is the easiest thing you'll ever do, just swipe the screen!

All in all I think this phone is great for someone who likes to keep updated on what's going on in the world and needs a very intuitive phone to do it.

Cons: I'm moving up from a feature phone so there really isn't much I can complain about, but if there were I suppose it would be the lack of memory. Sometimes, especially if I try to run anything remotely intensive like a game it will give me a "Sorry, too many cards." error.

One other thing is that for people with big thumbs/fingers, this phone will be hard to type on. Not impossible, especially after getting used to it but definitely hard sometimes. I find myself accidentally pressing the wrong buttons sometimes.

Other Thoughts: This phone DOES NOT need to be activated on only Verizon. There are other services available such as Page Plus that this phone can be activated on. It will save you tons of cash in the long run, especially if you use it for WiFi only and not 3G.

Make sure if you don't want to use 3G you turn it off! Even if the phone is sitting there it tends to use data, that will quickly drain your cash if you don't have an unlimited plan.

5 out of 5 eggsSmart Phone

Pros: After using many wanna be smart phones, I realize that this is a quality device. It works well in everything from web search, text, photos. WebOS is intuitive and easy to use. I have never owned an I-Phone or Android device (I have used them before) but after using this I don't feel like I am missing anything.

Cons: None so far. Except plugging in the charger is not easy for big fingers.

Other Thoughts: I followed the advice of other reviewers and went to Kitty Wireless for a Page Plus account. I now pay $29.95 a month and do all the stuff my sister pays over hundred to do. OF course there are limits, but there are limits on every carrier.
