1 out of 5 eggsAVOID THIS PHONE!!!!!

Pros: its an andoid phone

Cons: this phone is aweful, alot of the people that call me complain and tend to tell me that they cant hear me even when i have full signal and i can hear them perfectly and i recently added a data plan to my t-mobile account and i cant access the internet with it as if i dont have the data plan

the only way i can access the internet with it is through wifi. although on the specs of the phone it says it can access t-mobile 2G but it really cant and its really irritating

4 out of 5 eggsNice Little Smartphone

Pros: Solid entry-level smartphone with Android OS. I like the Samsung phone touch screen sensitivity.

I was looking for an unlocked replacement phone to use on a regional GSM carrier (in my case it is Cincinnati Bell Wireless). The phone has a good set of features for basic web browsing and IP enabled applications.

I popped in my SIM card and it voice worked like a champ.
After experimenting with the settings the APN/MMS/etc, which is a bit of guesswork and Googling, the data also works great, too, and the phone does support WiFi as well.

Cons: Screen resolution is a bit low and looks kind of pixel-ish.

The phone has a cheap back plastic cover which doesn't seem to stay on tightly. Also, I'd rate the battery life a fair.

Other Thoughts: For the price, I got a good value solid mobile phone, and was able to maintain my no-contract phone plan.

1 out of 5 eggsCall quality is horrible

Pros: Price was reasonable

Cons: Call quality and volume on this phone are horrible. I had to return this one because it dropped calls constantly and volume was so bad I had to keep it in speaker mode but still hold it to my ear for both me and other party to hear anything (hands-free volume was also really bad).

If the one I received was a dud and I get a better one sent back to me, I'll update with a better review, but for now, I'd recommend staying away.

2 out of 5 eggsData NOT compatible with AT&T Network!

Pros: Phone is decent for price, if you can handle a very small touchscreen.
Has all the hardware features I wanted in a smart phone, excepting the screen size.

Cons: AT&T does NOT support a data connection on this phone!
After repeated trips to my local store and almost 3 hours there last week while the tech was on the phone with their support people, it appears there is no way to use 2g/3g data with this phone on their network(s).
Screen is so small very difficult to text or enter things correctly using touch keypad.
I wish Newegg had included this very important information.

Other Thoughts: I wish I could return this phone and get a different one.
The voice and text functions work fine, I can use wifi for data when available.
However, since I have a grandfathered in unlimited data plan, I am stuck with a phone that cannot connect to the data network.

5 out of 5 eggsI love my little phone

Pros: Small, Beautiful. Unlocked, work with T-Mobile. Best phone I ever had. Wifi, GPS, Location, Navigation, Play Store, work with Gmail and Hotmail at the same time. Wonderful phone. Email is easy to set up, wifi is easy to set up. Update is going well once on wifi.

Cons: The phone came in default as Russian (got it from Newegg.com). It's simple enough to change default language to English. Battery life is poor, but I found Easy Batter Apps which allow me to turn-off Wifi, GPS, BT, and Data. Dim the display. My phone work fine without charge for 3 days.

Other Thoughts: For $139, I would buy it again.

2 out of 5 eggsDid Not Work As Advertized

Pros: Nice looking phone.

Cons: Phone did not work as advertised. It claims it is unlocked but it could not recognized my T-Mobile sim card. I am returning the phone for a replacement. Hopefully it works this time.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Value

Pros: Low price for a WiFi equipped Android phone. Very responsive and everything seems to work well. It came with a 2GB SD card, which was not listed in the included items.

Cons: Small, low-resolution screen makes typing difficult. Battery life is less than claimed, even with lots of stuff shut off.

Other Thoughts: Try some of the free to download keyboards for easier typing, like TouchPal, Go or Hacker's.

Mine came unlocked and NOT "rooted".

1 out of 5 eggsDeceptive advertising

Pros: Price

Cons: When buying this, one would think newegg is selling a phone unlocked by the manufacturer judging by the product description. Well, this is not the case. The phone I received was only unlocked because it had been rooted. There was a business card for a company called "Brainstorm" inside the box so I am guessing newegg was just re-selling the rooted phone from this company. Newegg advertised this phone as coming with Android 2.3.5, but what I received was Android 2.3.6. Again, probably due to the phone having been pre-rooted by Brainstorm.

Other Thoughts: I will probably re-root this phone on my own. Who knows what sort of trojans came pre-installed on it with it being rooted already. I'm starting to lose respect for the once great newegg. This is my second purchase in a row that I have been very disappointed with.

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic Phone

Pros: Very responsive! Android 2.3.5, wifi hotspot option, tethering option. If you connect USB interface in Xubuntu 11.10 (Ubuntu 11.10) it shows up as a eth* interface. with a private IP. Acess to std android app market + samsung app market. Battery life good using mostly wifi+sipdroid (16-20 hours)......The built in battery monitor says "cell standby"/"idle"takes most of the battery not the wifi. Many language choices! Unlocked! No data plan or any other foolishness needed to use the phone, although you'll need a sim card of some sort to access the samsung market (but not a data plan). I love the customizeable home screens. My nokia E63 with wifi breaks up when using SIP -> wifi that is 2 floors away. This works flawlessly. Can pinch to zoom in/out! responsive touch screen.

Cons: VERY small keyboard in any mode. This REALLY takes getting used to. If you are going to use this walking alot this probably isn't the phone for you unless you have very small fingers. I type with my pinky. Small screen size. Camera is only 2MP. It's livable (better than my Nokia E63) but doesn't compare to the more expensive phones.

Other Thoughts: This is my first android phone & I'm very impressed all around for the price paid. For < $200 with no contract, unlocked, no carrier-branding. I use this with puretalkusa (at&t) network just fine.
