Menus open faster, tabs are more responsive, and web pages load quicker with virtually no lag time. Switch between apps effortlessly with true multitasking on Android.

Nexus S has a dedicated Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). Playing mobile games, browsing the web, and watching videos are fast, fluid, and smooth. It's like having a pocket-sized multimedia and game console.

  • newegg Outdoor viewing Take Nexus S outside, there's 75% less glare than on other smartphone displays. Your videos, pictures and games look their best and the sun won't wash them out.
  • newegg Lighter and thinner profile The Contour Display uses a thin-profile glass panel, making Nexus S uniquely slim and trim. It's subtle but you'll notice.
  • newegg Rear and front-facing cameras The rear-facing 5 megapixel camera is capable of taking stunning pictures and videos that you can share with friends and family. The front-facing camera can take VGA quality images and video.
  • newegg Near Field Communication (NFC) Nexus S can read information from "smart" tags, or everyday objects that have NFC chips in them. These can be anything from stickers and movie posters to t-shirts.
  • newegg Never get lost again Explore the world in 3D from the palm of your hand using Google Maps 5.0 with Navigation (Beta), Places, and Latitude. Zoom, tilt, and rotate the map with two fingers to explore cities in 3D. Orient yourself with compass mode, which automatically rotates the map to the direction you’re facing. Keep viewing the maps you use the most, even if you lose your connection. Find local spots like restaurants and ATMs using Places. Then, use Navigation for free turn-by-turn GPS voice guidance with offline rerouting.
  • newegg Speak don't poke Nexus S listens to you. With Voice Actions, press and hold the Search button from anywhere and speak almost anything.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Phone

Pros: Screen,Processor, AT&T 3G, Price.

Cons: Was made by Samsung

Other Thoughts: I would have liked, HTC had done this phone, because Samsung is well know for take long time to update their phones or no updating at all.
Google should set some kind of standards to the use of their
OS, and make the manufacturers follow that standards, so the
phones using Google OS can get updates more easily.

Pros: processor is good, gorilla glass screen, great plus.

Cons: really has to have a case of some sort. is like picking up soap, very slippery, easy to drop.
terrible reception
worst of all, no light to let you know if you have missed a text or call, have to constantly pick up phone and unlock it to check.
memory not expandable.
camera not really up to par with competitions phones, no hdmi out

Other Thoughts: much better phones on the market. get a motorola.

5 out of 5 eggsWhAT?!

Pros: I've been having a blast with this bad boy. It's no galaxy which is like 799$ right now, but wow is it ever fun! I have two very fast 3G networks around me so the phone has been running exceptionally well. A lot of fun apps to play with along with necessities. Most for free. At 369$ you couldn't find a better phone. Exactly what I wanted, can run without a stupid contract so I don't have to be a slave to some company :D can phone, text, organize and play from any hotspot/wireless zone. Can upgrade to Android 4, but saps battery a lot quicker.

Cons: Cons would basically be looking a gift horse in the mouth. It's not the best phone and I didn't pay for the best phone. I paid for a darn good phone and I got one :D

Other Thoughts: Be sure to customize the phone entirely. I had to do a lot of aftertweaking and initially had a lot of complaints because it was not in the initial setup. Once I realized they were, it's just sunshine, lol.

1 out of 5 eggsYou need to enjoy repeated flashing with insecure binaries

Pros: It is a good hardware for the money

Cons: Search bug (google),
Insecure - lack of official firmware/radio that fixes the bug, Ugly (my 16 year old does not want it),
Time consuming - you will waste lots of time flashing/reflashing trying to get it work

Other Thoughts: At this moment I am not aware of official 4.0.3 build for this phone (i9020a), there is the official i9020t build from google that needs to be accompanied by flashing 'radio' with binary of unknown source (not even open source with signature). No official google binaries.

Google support is horrible:
Google Search Bug Nexus S. It is almost a year still plaguing many users. If your provider does not provide you with OTA update (even that it took over half year for that to happen), you will need to root and flash both ROM(OS) and radio ( 'driver') yourself. You can find semi-trusted (open source) ROM but not the Radio. The only one that is rumoured to fix search bug a zip in xda forum attachement (no md5 for that one).

I tried to build my own kernel from sources, no such lack: build requires 'repo' tool which was hosted on was down for few weeks following the hacking Google did not bother to provide alternate download.

5 out of 5 eggsNice phone

Pros: Has a great screen and plenty of horsepower to do just about everything. It's a "Google Experience" phone, which means there's not a lot of bloat, no funky UI, everything is good right out of the box. It does have an official ICS port, and a huge community of people creating their own roms (that work better than the official one).

Cons: One possible con is that there's no memory slot, it comes with 16GB of hard-wired memory. I've never used more than 3-4GB so I really don't care, but you're not going to be carrying your entire music collection on this thing.

Other Thoughts: As the other reviewer mentioned, the battery life sucks on ICS, BUT that's really only with the official version. If you get one of the many third party roms, the battery life is great. My phone hits the charger with 50% or more battery left every night, and that's with plenty of gaming, texting, browsing, etc.

I don't find the 3G to be that slow, maybe it varies by area? Maybe it's because I'm using the TMO version? In any case, yeah, it's only 3G.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: -Beautiful screen (SAMOLED)
-Fast Single Core Processor (1ghz)
-AT&T UMTS (3G) working
-Good camera quality (picture)
-Android 4.0 (ICS) upgrade
-Good battery life (Android 2.3.4)

Cons: -Single Core
-SLOW 3G speeds
-No HD Camera (video)
-Official ICS update is laggy (use custom ROMs)
-Awful battery life (Android 4.0)

Other Thoughts: Great unlocked phone. Got it when it was on sale for $359.99. It supports AT&T's 3G bands but it is still slow compared to other 3G phones.

It is unlocked which is always a plus and you can tether without AT&T seeing it, since it is unlocked.
