Please read the product description carefully for all unlocked cell phones.

Some unlocked cell phones sold by Newegg may have previously been locked to a specific carrier. A carrier-locked cell phone may often have carrier-specific applications and branding. Some of these applications cannot be unlocked and/or may not function with a different carrier. Also, applications requiring a data plan may result in data usage charges from the original carrier.

In addition, the cell phone box may arrive unsealed and the cell phone may appear previously handled. The unlocking procedure requires unsealing the box and manually handling the cell phone. In this case, the cell phone should not be considered "tampered with" or "defective".

3 out of 5 eggsActivation & set up is painful

Pros: Great features. Easy to navigate to different apps. Great sound quality. Availability of third party add-on apps. Decent camera quality for a phone.

Cons: Would not activate after I inserted SIM and battery. Didn't come with instructions on how to activate either -- I had to go to AT&T's web site and follow the instructions which didn't work. I eventually gave up, and tried again the next day when it did work. I also had trouble setting up internet and email -- again following the instructions didn't help. I eventually had to go to an AT&T store to have it activated. What a pain!
Also, I hate all the shopping icons that are included out of the box. If I wanted craplets, I would have bought a computer!

Other Thoughts: This is my first smart phone, and I consider it to be a relative disappointment, although I don't have a good reference point. I will probably sell this phone in 6-12 months and get either a Nokia E61 or iPhone. Also, what's with AT&T not having 24 hour technical assistance???

5 out of 5 eggsTruly a smart smartphone

Pros: Awesome, light all in one gadget.First time I held it,I thought there was no battery in it till I realized it is that light.Camera is great.Contacts/Calendar works great.Email works great.Got all my Yahoo/Hotmails in easy.Browsing is ok.If you have iphone, the browser here will feel cheap and goofy.Phone calls are great quality.Nice home screen.Overall, highly recommended for a good PDA phone.TeleNav GPS is a ripoff.Buy a garmin instead.

Cons: Has no video recording.Applications menu cluttered with shop this and shop that icons.

Other Thoughts: Red BB Curve looks much better than the silver one.

3 out of 5 eggshardware will fall apart after a year

Pros: The blackberry phones are great and there are lots of good features for the professional on the go. The ability to sync up your contacts and calendar with Outlook/Lotus Notes is great. The Gmail application works great with this, and also the Instant messaging is good.

Cons: The trackball "or pearl" and phone will start to wear out after a year. So far my trackball has fell apart, and the back cover has worn out and wont stay on. I am a heavy user as well. If you're looking for durability and not looks, try one of the older phones RIM makes, or Apple Iphone; or stick to a plain old RAZR type. Also web browsing sucks on these.

Other Thoughts: If I were you, dont get a data plan. First, try learning about what the phone does, then graduate to a data plan or text messaging plan. Chances are you will use those features for the first couple of days, but the "crackberry" affect will start getting to you. Try not getting hooked to this thing because it will drive you crazy.

5 out of 5 eggsPure Awesomeness

Pros: This phone is great. The interface is simple and easy to navigate. I love being able to use the track ball, it makes navigating through menus much faster. I haven't really used the phone much, but from what I have done it is amazing.

Cons: None as of yet, it truely is a great phone.

Other Thoughts: GET IT!
