I pluggedit into my phone charger and it is blinking red. Is that bad?

it means it needs to be charged. plug it into usb to charge. it will be solid blue once its charged. when charging devices it should be a solid red led then flashing when it gets low

Do you know if this product has a lithium ion battery or some sort of Nickel battery?

I believe it is lithium, it charges slow with the cord provided but stays charged verry long.

will this work with a LG Tribute. Does it come with charging cables??

It comes with a cable to charge it's self from a USB port, either computer or wall adaptor. If you have a charging cord with a standard USB end on it. Usually LGs use the micro USB plug so the cord that comes with the unit may be able to double up as the cord for your phone. If not, the cords are cheaply bought anywhere. I generally get about 1.5 charges out of it before I have to plug it in.
