Lara Croft is back and in the middle of the action in this 8th installment in the Tomb Raider series. The iconic archeologist is southern Mexico where she uncovers portals between our world and the Mayan underworld, Xibalba. This 3rd person action adventure game takes Lara around the world with Easter Island, the Golden Triangle and Mesopotamia among the exotic locations. Fluid motion capture brings Ms. Croft to life as she fights enemies and solves puzzles in photo-realistic action.
The innovative programming allows consistency of mechanics which allows Lara to simultaneously shoot at two targets with two weapons or to hold an object in one hand and use a rope in the second. Non-linear plots allow for varied game play. The environments are truly immersive with levels of interactivity never seen before. As Lara moves through the jungles of Chiapas, she can push the foliage out of her way with one or both hands, depending on whether she has a hand free.
Splattered mud will be washed away by the rain, and any destruction – to enemies or the environment – will remain. Objects can be manipulated in multiple manners – a grappling line can be used to drag an object and a pole can be used as a tool or a weapon. The weather becomes a dynamic factor with Lara more likely to slip off a wet ledge in the rain.
