This camera work without internet connection?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but you will still need a router to connect it to and do the initial setup.  Obviously without internet you won't be able to view the camera/use the app from outside your network, but as long as you have a wireless/wired router to connect it to it'll still work.  If you're asking can you use the camera as a stand-alone without any kind of router or network I would say no.....it's an IP camera and requires a network connection to do the setup.  After that, I suppose the answer is technically yes as you can have it record to a micro SD card and you could probably manually put the SD card in a card reader to check footage, but I've not actually tried that.  It's definitely designed to be connected to a network, and to use all its features an internet connection is necessary, but in summary you could get by with a wireless/wired router alone and no internet connection.

Question 2

Is the camera wall mountable? What is its preferred opporting temperature? What temperature can it operate in? How effective is motion detection?

It is wall-mountable; it comes with screws and plastic wall inserts.  I can't answer about the operational temperature; it doesn't have a hard drive or moving parts so I would imagine it's rather wide, but it's not designed for outdoor use if that's what you're thinking.  As for motion detection....on my initial tests it seemed like it was going to very good, but once I put it in my living room I've found it's a little over-sensitive.  Even with the sensitivity dialed down to 1, I get a fair number of false positives although mostly during odd light transitions and low light (maybe 10-20/day with some true positives in the mix).  It does catch every time I walk by it though, and I'm planning to re-purpose an old laptop to setup as a server/NAS to record images to 1) because I don't want the wear and tear on my primary server and 2) so I can hide the laptop so that even if my house is broken into and it's stolen along with the camera and microSD I have inside I can still recover the images.  Sound recording is awful, even in a quiet room, but I don't really care about that.  For a good price I would consider adding a second or third; the app is great and quickly getting a view inside my house from my iPhone is reassuring.  I didn't even have to mess with my firewall/router for some reason to make it work for internet access.

Question 3

Does it work as a wireless Webcam for Skype?

My camera is in a box somewhere at the moment (I just moved), but I'm 80% sure there's no USB connection, and thus no.....I can think of no way to use this with Skype.  It's designed as a security camera/remote access recording device, not a "webcam."  Plus if you're looking for a webcam you can do much better in terms of quality/webcam features.
