1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: Fast Shipping (as always)!

Cons: Gave short warning with everything plugged into this except cell phone charger or e-cig charger. Finally had enough and tossed in the trash.

Other Thoughts: While I'd owned this for more than a year, this product never worked right. Just never got around to throwing it away. Kept 'hoping' whatever the issue was would magically fix itself (as sometimes happens). Not this time.

1 out of 5 eggsBarely used but already broken

Pros: 400 watts, nice compact design.

Cons: I am sure I didn't use it for more than 20x because I have 2 power inverter. Finally gave my other one away and begin to use this RCI-400ms. I suddenly gave me a fault error. I only used it to charge my phone in the car. I will now look for another brand.

4 out of 5 eggsOne failed after a while

Pros: Cheap, does the job

Cons: I bought 2 units and after a few months one of the units blew a fuse in the car and gave the short circuit warning

I dissembled and found a melted solder joint on on of the transformer legs, I resolderd but still get the short warning

didnt have time so i never got around to trying to get an RMA

my other unit still works well

Other Thoughts: they are modified sine (like most on the market) so they tend to mess up sensitive electronics but i guess that should be common knowledge cant really take an egg off for that pure sine inverters will never be $20

5 out of 5 eggsActually Does Make Breakfast

Pros: Portable
Durable Housing
Comes with 12v outlet plug as well as "jumper cable" style clamps

Cons: Would have liked the clamp cables to be a bit longer so I don't have to set this on top of the engine.

Other Thoughts: If you plan on using heavy duty equipment, you're going to need to use the clamps and connect it directly to the battery. If you try to use the lighter adapter you run the risk of blowing a fuse, which means you're potentially stranded.

Used this for a portable electric grill. Supplied enough power to cook breakfast for the whole family.

Because of the previously mentioned cable length issue, I had to place the portable grill above the car's radiator while I'm cooking. A simple extension cord would have remedied this though.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked to power my sump pump when we lost power with the car running. Would not power sump without car running and only direct battery hookup. Overall, bought to power sump pump during power outage and it did it's job.

Cons: Not powerful enough to power refrigerator, but not bought for that purpose.

5 out of 5 eggsThanks Newegg!

Pros: Works great! I lost power at my house for 6 days. I ordered this from Newegg and they got it to me the next day (free shipping)- it couldn't come at a better time or at a better price (on sale)! This inverter saved my sanity. Thanks Newegg- I owe you one!
At 400 watts (800 peak) this could run a TV and a small computer. I didn't really push this device because I didn't want my car battery to die. If you are using that much power, use the battery clips. The cigarette lighter's fuse will probably blow. This inverter has a fuse, but it's 40amps- that's quite a bit of current that is well above a safe level for most cigarette lighter outlets.

Cons: Hurricane Sandy was awful, but that's not Rosewill or Newegg's fault.

Other Thoughts: With the obvious climate change, having an alternate source of power is a must today. Sorry to those that don't believe, but over 100 years of using the internal combustion engine and pollution inducing industries has to produce some effect. Welcome to earth!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Seems to work as expected powers basic stuff tv, laptop, computer, lights. but only to the extent it was built to handle, has a ground pin which is nice since another one i have does not which can make connecting certain devices troublesome.

Cons: It was not free?

3 out of 5 eggsConfusing lead colors

Pros: Silent

Cons: Battery leads and clamps have confusing colors- after blowing the fuse twice, realized that the clamps colors are confusing: the black clamp is connected to the solid red wire, the red clamp is connected to the red/ blk wire, leading one to believe that the red clamp is the positive terminal when one is only focusing on connecting the terminal ends to the unit. Other than this, no serious concerns, though I have not tested it on load yet. Good to know that it is reverse polarity protected, though by fuse only, and maybe not by internal diodes or electronics.
