5 out of 5 eggsVery Cinematic

Pros: Very Cinematic theatre-like rumbling bass. Has a lot of custom sound options. Love the Auto-Calibration. Simple and easy set-up. Great for music, too. No lack of audio inputs. I can't say enough good about the subwoofer, even though it isn't active. Speaker wires are plenty long for my needs.

Cons: Speaker wire could be a little higher gauge, but it still sounds awesome. One more Digital Coaxial input would be nice, but it does come with an optical audio input.

Other Thoughts: Trust Sony! This 800 watt system will not disappoint. Very house shaking bass, just like the theatre. You can adjust the treble and bass levels too, which is nice for mu set-up. I watched the Return of the King last night, and Middle-earth comes alive with the DTS even better than the theatrical experience I remember. But it!

2 out of 5 eggsWeak and poorly constructed

Pros: Low price, good bass.

Cons: Cheap construction. Never recognized more than 2.1 channels from my DVP642, weak mid range, S/PDIF jack fell out after 95 days.

Other Thoughts: If you don't live close to Houston, it's not worth the money to ship it in for repairs. Sony will NOT ship a 50 cent replacement S/PDIF jack to keep me as a customer.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Best speakers for the price

Pros: The sound quality is amazing, the bass is really powerful, movie theater like vibration! The price is unbelievable it outperforms some $500 systems out there, its Sony!

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a affordable sound system for your bedroom, living room, or home theater room than this system is for you! I can't believe the amount of bass and sound level this thing produces! Buy it right now! Also Newegg shipped it to me very fast amazing service!

4 out of 5 eggsInexpensive, clean sound

Pros: Clean sound, easy hookups, inexpensive, powerful bass, sounds good with music, remote can control all media devices(as long as they are sony), and the autocalibrate feature cannot be underestimated! Within the menu's there are also alot of options..

Cons: I would say it isn't very loud(at least after being run with autocalibration in my small room), the bass can be overpowering at times(I had to turn mine down to -2 and its still strong), and that the speaker wires are permananetly attached to sattelites and sub.. But thats it..

Other Thoughts: Despite my littel complaints, this inexpensive system is great. It is a great basis for a home theater and audio system. My room is small(12*13) and I ran the autocalibrate. The result was not soo loud audio, but it is extremely clean. The bass can be a bit much at times when watching SE heavy movies. But I love the system and it controls all of my current components with one remote. If I purchase a new tv, I will buy one of sony's universals also..
