5 out of 5 eggsSounds great

Pros: Works well with my Media center (PBO) & Harmony remote. My media center plays many different video and audio formats. This receiver plays them all with no problem. No more searching for the right formatted video so that the surround sound will work! Everything goes through the receiver to a single HDMI cable up to the TV... 1080p video looks Awesome!!

Cons: Is a little bit deeper then my old Sony receiver makes the cabinet a bit tighter.

Other Thoughts: Works great so far! Newegg had it to me under 2 days even with free shipping!!!! Thanks Newegg!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value for what you get

Pros: HDMI 1.4 for 3D passthrough on a relatively cheap receiver
Smaller and lighter than most other comparable units
Good remote

Cons: Connecting bare speaker wire can be a pain (see below)

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace an Onkyo TX-SR607 so I could pass through 3D video while retaining HD audio decoding. I chose the Yamaha over the SR608 because this is cheaper and provides exactly what I needed. I was worried it might be a downgrade in overall sound quality, but I think it actually sounds better. In any case it certainly isn't worse, which makes this price a really good deal.

Connecting the bare speaker wires to the posts on the back was annoying though. The posts are arranged such that the positive terminal is above the negative terminal for a particular channel instead of them being side-by-side. This means that connected the wire to the negative terminal involves some hand-cramping contortion. This is a one-time thing though, so not worth knocking off an egg. Also a non-issue if you use banana plugs.

I see several reviewers citing the OSD for being outdated, but I like it. It's simple and easy to use. Great product overall especially for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat reciever

Pros: this yamaha 567 was bought as an upgrade from a previous model with no hdmi connections.this unit eliminated about 6-7 connections that were previously component to one cable per component and with the pass through feature all is great.
typical smooth yamaha sound on music and movies rock through my def tech 7 speaker system.
im using this in a dedicated theater room so i didn't need the additional zones of the 667 model.
the sound and features for the money is second to none and i am very pleased as usual with yamaha.

Cons: the only cons i can think of is this unit has no pre-outs for bi amping with additional power nor does it have a 120 plug on rear for adding other amps but hey i didn't expect this at this price point.

Other Thoughts: for a great reliable unit that is easy to set up and use and does all the basics with ease this 567 is highly recomended.as always newegg was quick on shipping and very good price

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent receiver

Pros: Been using it for more than a month now and I am pleased with the performance. I paired this receiver with Energy Take 7.1.. Size of the room is ~12x20 and this receiver/speaker combo works excellent. Various preset modes are good and I actually like the surround enhancer mode. My previous receiver was AVR320 and this feels like a nice upgrade for less than 1/2 the price of AVR.

Cons: Only 1 HDMI out
Only 1 Zone
Both these are good to have but not necessary and specs clearly state that these 2 are not there :)

5 out of 5 eggsGood receiver

Pros: Got this receiver free with the Klipsch HD 500 speaker promo. Was looking at the Yamaha's because of the HDMI standby pass-through function and ability to change inputs while in standby.

It came with the latest (F018) firmware preinstalled, so I did not have to see if my DVD player's Coax output was compatible with it, since I've heard lots of folks struggle with that.

YPAO put the front & center speakers about 2 feet further back than they are and the sub about 9 feet further, probably due to the odd shape of the room (walls slope after 5' and then flatten out on top) but was exactly right on the rear speakers since that was a straight line to the YPAO mic. After manually tweaking the distances and speaker levels they sound great.

Plenty of manual config options so be sure to print the user manual from the CD and keep it around for reference.

Overall I'm very pleased with the features and sound quality.

Cons: Old-style text-based on-screen display (OSD). However, not a major issue since it's not something you need to get into too often.

Other Thoughts: YPAO warned that the front and center speakers were out of phase though they were wired properly. I presumed this was due to the room shape, so I ignored it and went ahead and then manually adjusted the distances and levels.

I recommend that you only use YPAO as the starting point and don't be afraid to make manual adjustments since every room is different and automated setups cannot get everything right.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat receiver

Pros: Great receiver, easy setup. Set the microphone where you sit and run the auto setup. Determines speaker placement for you. If you want, there is a ton of manual adjustments including distance, volume, individual equalizer settings for each speaker and more. So you get the bet of automatic or manual settings, depending on what you want. Automatically senses all types of surround and selects the correct decoding. Easy input selection on remote. So far I have not noticed any latency between video and audio that you might come across on cheaper receivers. There is a delay adjustment if you need it. Way too many adjustments to list here, or just let the receiver do everything on auto. I use this receiver with a set of Klipsch SL's and sounds great for music, movies and Xbox.

Cons: Could take a while to see all the settings you can make manually.

5 out of 5 eggsA Great Mid-Range Receiver!

Pros: Hooked up are a HD Cable Receiver, a HDD Recorder, and a Blu-Ray player. All are working just fine. Had no problem connecting all these units. This Receiver has a lot to offer for the money. It has a great surround sound and lots of power. A nice mid-range Receiver.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Has a lot to offer for the amount you pay. Everything works just fine. Why pay a thousand $ for a unit which sounds the same? You really cant tell much difference.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Love it... I have Xbox360, Sat TV, and a Blu-Ray player running through the hdmi ports and they all work amazing. With the 4 hdmi inputs I eliminated the need for a seperate hdmi switch. It sounds great with everything.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Got free with the Klipsch 500 surround speaker set!!!!! I would pay full price for it though after using it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat system

Pros: Got this system with the Klipsch speakers and it's an awesome combo. Had the speakers wired in about an hour and had the system up and running shortly after. Only issue was running the auto setup for the surround. Had a polarity error upon setup, but after reading the manual, they say that happens with some systems. Plugged in a cable box, blu-ray, and wii and had no issues with any. Sound is amazing at full volume. Rocks our house and brings nothing but smiles to everyone that listens.

Cons: None that we've found yet. System was a simple setup. People complain about no manual, becsaus it's all on CD but what isn't these days?
