5 out of 5 eggsSounds Amazing

Pros: The sound quality of this system redefined my definition of good sound. It has plenty of inputs for me, and switches HDMI. It is 3D capable if I ever decide to buy into that scam. The receiver doesn't cause lag between my PC and my HDTV.

Cons: The FM reciever is not very sensitive
The Bluetooth module is another $100
Ever since I bought this, other systems I thought were great just seem mediocre now.

Other Thoughts: When I first bought this system, I was using two Sony bookshelf speakers in 2.0 configuration, and they sounded Ok. I decided I needed surround sound, so I bought the Klipsch HD 300 speakers. Good speakers make all the difference.
Also if you're using this with a PC, don't forget to configure Windows 7 to output 5.1 surround sound over the HDMI cable.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat for the $$$

Pros: does what it should and more for the money

Cons: none at this price point

Other Thoughts: review is not a play by play for why it is a good value, just reinforcing other reviews that it is, indeed, a good value.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat receiver

Pros: This is a great receiver, it has become my hub for my entertainment system. It has crisp and clear sound.

Cons: Won't do Dolby trueHD from my ps3, but that's my ps3's fault since the older fat models can't decode it.

Other Thoughts: I hope it lasts me many years, and it is future proof with 3D and HDMI 1.4.

2 out of 5 eggsI'm not mad, just disapointed

Pros: Wide variety of inputs, 3D ready, came with free Bluetooth adapter. Lots of decode options, inluding TrueHD and DTS-HD and passthrough of surround LPCM (for PS3, which decodes internally and sends the uncompressed signal to receiver) to speakers

Cons: Had multiple video connection issues on HDMI connection. Whenever input was shanged or source reset video connection roughly 60% of the time receiver would output an "Invalid Signal" output severely distorted video, output video with with layer of pink or green on top. Would intermittently drop video signal as well. Audio and analog (component) connections worked fine, so HDCP issue was most likely culprit. Tried different HDMI cables, used some pro quality cables (extra thick, extra shielding, net jacket) just to be sure and in various TV inputs.

Aside from defective unit issues, there is no analog to digital converter, so this will not help you cut down on cables going into your TV if you have multiple types. For example, if you have an HD cable/satellite box a PS3 or X360 with HDMI and a Wii using composite or component you will have not be able to have a single HMDI output to the TV, you will need HDMI to TV for all HDMI to recevier conections AND Component to TV etc.

Other Thoughts: Returned defective unit for replacement after trying other every other possible issue for 2 weeks. After a few days my RMA status showed as Approved with a replacement coming. After a day it still stated replacement but had not updated with shipping info. A few hours later the receiver was out of stock and status had changed to refund. I now have a 5.1 speaker system that sits idle while I wait for my refund to go through so I can buy a replacement. I was definitely disappointed in Pioneer for the faults of this unit and, for the first time, I'm disappointed in Newegg as well.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Decodes HDMI sound (no more running optical and digital coax to my receiver). 3D ready (don't have a 3D TV yet, but just in case I upgrade in the future).

Cons: Only works with powered subwoofer, not passive. Only a con for me because it was replacing my existing receiver and I can no longer use the sub I have.

Volume level is not displayed unless the volume is being adjusted. Where I would expect to see the volume level displayed, it shows the audio input source instead (O1, O2, C1, H). Maybe there is a way to change that, but I haven't found it yet if there is.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Amazing Receiver for the money. I got this under $175.00, on sale.

HDMI
-Works with PS3
-Works with PC
-Worlds with DirecTV box

Sounds good. Very happy. Now to figure out if I prefer PLii or Neo:6 for SD, lol.

Cons: Kinda hard to adjust a few things like center channel width. Also it's not very clear without reading the manual why the Midnight button works only on certain modes. Receiver is mostly plug and play simple.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 3 HDMI in. My tv only has one hdmi so this was perfect to switch between multiple hd inputs (cable box, xbox, computer).

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Pretty bulky unit but not really a con, fits in av stand fine.

5 out of 5 eggsWOWeWOW

Pros: great sound quality even with so-so speakers; this thing can really bring the noise not to mention the tons of ports in the back; video and audio-philes dream cant wait until my 42" LCD is hooked into this system, im not 3D ready yet but the availability is nice

Cons: that new electronics smell doesn't last forever? none really just make sure your sub can support this system the only way to hook my sub was with a janky set of adapters that splits 1 composite cable into 2 to get red and white plugged in. Look at the pictures to see the ONE sub out

Other Thoughts: would be interesting to see how well it works with the blue-tooth adapter (sold separately)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Price was right. I didn't need much, have a simple set up with 4 mounted speakers. Have connected it to the TV and have listened to some music I produced after mixing to test it. Everything sounds good and there are plenty of great sound settings.

Cons: none so far
