5 out of 5 eggsGreat HTIB Setup

Pros: -Fantastic Receiver
-Loads of inputs (5 HDMI was the primary focus)
-Upscaling if you want it
-Decent enough starter speaker set (sub-woofer is nice, the rest of the speakers are average due to bad highs)
-Zone 2 option (speakers to a different location i.e. outside)

Cons: -This badboy gets H-O-T! I put together an adjustable fan to slap on the back right corner where the heat radiates most (HDMI inputs)
-NO AC OUTLET ON THE BACK! To each their own on this one, but it'd have been nice to have one to put the fan I made on so it'd only be turned on when the unit was turned on.
-Ipod dock is some proprietary connection (worse than apple's)

Other Thoughts: Great first time unit for me. The receiver was what I was really wanting after doing all of my research, and getting a quickie speaker set along with it was nice.

The speaker wires that come with it are thin, so springing for something like 16 gauge would do you wonders if you decide to upgrade your speakers. I doubt you'd really notice anything on the ones that come with it.

The automatic tuner is pretty useless. It's a mic that you place where you'd be sitting mostly and it adjusts the volume of each speaker to "optimize" the experience. You can use it and see what it suggests to have a baseline to go off of, but you'll still end up making several adjustments to get it right.

4 out of 5 eggsGo for it!!

Pros: I have had a few systems that I have put together and I am an audiophile, this HTIB sounded great the manual is useful and is easy to understand. the system sets up good out of the box. Used the included Audyssey mic to set it up and I did have to tweek it after that but nothing major. I didn't set up 2 speakers do to the shape of the living room it is in but it still sounds amazing. happy to have the tower front speakers(worth the extra IMO) it really does a lot for acoustics. i recommend upgrading the speaker cable as well like other reviewers mention. the OEM wire will work in a pinch but upgrade when you can. I like that I can assign names to the different channels and set up individual settings and save them individually. also when switching from channel to channel the volume is reduced to min value so you don't blow you speakers when going from a movie to say the radio.

Cons: The unit does run hot. I got two 240mm fans to help move the air and it has helped immensely. I wish Audyssey set up better but it's auto set up what can you expect we all have different tastes.

Other Thoughts: Overall I am please to have the system. I am cracking one egg due to the heat mainly because I believe the unit should have fans built into it considering the temps when running. but if you can spare the money for the fans or have a WELL ventilated placement for the unit , GO FOR IT!

5 out of 5 eggsBest in a box.

Pros: This Onkyo home theater system is an unbeatable system you can find in a box. If you picked and chose each component you might not appreciate the astetics of the surround speakers until you power them up. A very worthy investment. I would suggest purchasing this system before Onkyo realize they have underpriced this home theater system.

Cons: Surround speakers appearance is at best mediocre...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Quality for the Money

Pros: Easy setup, good soundstage, well balanced system. You can't beat this system for the money. I spent a long time researching trying to decide whether I wanted to fuss with a custom built system or one of the HTIB. This system is really only a HTIB because it is one huge box. You can purchase all of the components separately (for a little more cost, especially if you count in the cost of the iPod dock). Set up was a breaze and with every speaker labeled as to what position it should be in and every wire custom colored for that spot. the autotune system with the included mic was easy and did a great job of balancing the speakers.

Cons: Cheap speaker wire, Sping clips connector for speakers. 10" sub could use a little more thump. Would be nice if the iPod dock allowed for on-screen display and control, you can watch videos but it's easier to use the iPod itself to navigate your videos and music.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat system!

Pros: Packaged very well, and an overall great looking system. The setup was very simple overall, the wires that come with the system are all color coded if you end up using them. They are pretty thin wires, but as of right now I am using them without issue. I will be buying something thicker in the future. It sounds absolutely awesome, and has a ton of features. Being able to take any source and put it through every speaker is very nice. Music sounds great because of the all ch. stereo mode. The onscreen setup was also very nice, it made customizing things very easy. The receiver looks pretty nice and works perfectly with my logitech harmony remote. I currently have a PS3, 360, and my computer hooked up to this receiver. That all goes to my 46" TV. 5.1 and 7.1 are awesome, it works very well and you can tell where the sound is coming from. The speakers don't drown eachother out.

Cons: THE BOX!!!! It's BIIIIG. It's like a very large mini fridge. A very very large mini fridge. My box arrived and pretty decent condition, just a few tears around the "handles" because people would drag the box by them, but that's no big deal. The whole box was dusty though, and the UPS guy said it's because nobody could move it so it probably sat in a warehouse forever. Definitely quite interesting to unpackage the whole thing.

Other Thoughts: So far I have no regrets, this system is just awesome. It does everything I want, and then more that I wasn't even expecting.

4 out of 5 eggsONKYO HT-S7200

Pros: Nice sound for a box set up. TV, Movies, Music all sound very good. 600 with shipping was a great price for what this box has to offer. I would recommend to someone who is looking to enhance their TV, but doesn't want to spend 4K doing it. Remote is easy and commands all (TV, Cable, blu-ray) with ease.

Cons: Speaker wire. Get a better gauge. Not Sirius/XM ready. Runs a bit hot.

Other Thoughts: I have two kids and not a great deal of extra funds to dedicate to blistering sound. This system fit my needs well with a solid, well built unit. Decent quality for the money. First purchase from Newegg could not be better. Shipped very, very quickly for the extra 2$ option (couple of days). Price on Newegg was 2-3 hundred less than others. Do not fear - they delivered what was advertised.

5 out of 5 eggsOnkyo HT-S7200 and Newegg

Pros: Great home theater system - just connected it to an epson 8500 projector and its sound is incredible - great value for the money. The ipod dock is a nice added feature.
Newegg is reliable and delivered on time.

Cons: a bit bulky

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing...

Pros: I dont want to burn any time. This thing is amazing and supports so much. Speakers sound fantastic. Onscreen configuration is WAY nicer then lcd configuration. Logitech univeral remote works great with it. A must have for any movie lovers.

Cons: No WMA Pro support -- not sure if that sucks or not, but why not?
The UPS guy stole my first one -- went onto his truck according to the tracking online (out for delivery), but never made it to my house with the rest of my stuff. He acted like "what, there was a 100 pound box on my truck???" UPS didnt seem to give a rats XXX. I wanted to see someone fired for theft -- second time from newegg. last time was 3 laptops. -- not new eggs fault, and just delayed me getting one about 10 days.
Wire not long, super thin. Worth buying the 500' roll for 80 bucks on newegg.

Other Thoughts: 120" Movie screen / 1080p projector -- all HMDI inputs (HTPC, Sony Bluray, Xbox 360). I get Master Audio DTS via my HTPC via HDMI (Im not sure why, but the sony bluray doesnt even output that stream).
I would recommend this to anyone. Only thing freaky is the "no return policy" that newegg has. If you get stuck with a bad one, you have to deal with the manufacture.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Buy!

Pros: Receiver is very nice. Upconverts to 1080i. The package as a whole is nice. Color coded wiring to the color coded speakers. Everything was clearly defined and was able to put together with ease. The on-screen programming/set up screen made things a LOT easier.

I researched this through and through before deciding on this. This is replacing my Bose Lifestyle 18.
I like the fact that I can interface numerous components without worrying about the receiver being "outdated" as with the Bose.

Cons: Wish that one could select the music from the iPod through the remote and TV.

1 out of 5 eggsManufacturing flaw

Pros: Works fine, when its not broken.

Cons: This receiver recently stopped switching the HDMI inputs.

I called a warranty repair vendor to get it fixed. They told me that this is a
KNOWN ISSUE with these models due to a manufacturing fault and it would take 2 weeks in & out.

I called after 2 weeks and they told me that had not received the parts from Onkyo yet and it would take another two weeks. Yet again when i called on the fourth week the told me Onkyo has been taking up to 2 months to ship the part that's needed.

I'd had enough so decided to call Onkyo directly, the told me the part is on back order and will be shipped to me on May 17th. At that point I will have been without my receiver for over a month and a half.
I mentioned that the vendor told me this was a known issue and the rep didn't respond. When i asked why it takes 1.5 months to repair a product that was known to be defective before it was sold all he could say was "I'm sorry sir the part is on back order"

I will not be buying an Onkyo product agai
