Wouldn't it be great to leave the tangle of individual device chargers home next time you travel? SuperBattery is designed to charge most USB-capable devices such as mp3 players, handheld games, and PDA's, and cellular phones, using adapter tips.

SuperBattery can work on AC (using the included AC adaptor); on its rechargeable battery, which, fully charged, lasts 2 weeks on standby; or using the hand crank. The pre-charged battery can support your cell phone for up to 10 hours of talk time, or your iPod for 5 hours of play time. The unit is splash proof, so it's suitable for outdoor and marine use, and has a built-in super bright LED lamp. Includes adapter tips for cellular phones made by Samsung, LG, Nokia, and most Motorola phones.

5 out of 5 eggsHere are the specs from the manual

Pros: The USB is always powered, no led to drain it. Light is a single white LED.

Cons: I guess it could be a tiny bit smaller.

Other Thoughts: 9V adapter. 2/3 AA NiMH, 4.8V, 600mAh. Charge time 12 hours. 500 cycle times. Capacity 600mA.
Dimensions 3"W x 1.5"D x 4" H.

Crank charger only operates when you turn it, and seems to put out around 30mA when youre turning it.

3 out of 5 eggsDoes not work on iPod Touch!

Pros: Lightweight. Charges cell phone and ipod nano.

Cons: Does not charge iphone or ipod touch. Power adapter is only 110v, not dual voltage for overseas use.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these to use for an upcoming 13 hour overseas flight, only to find they can't charge my ipod touch at all. It works on my cell phone and my friend's nano, but I would have bought a different item had I known it will not power my ipod touch. Now it's too close to my trip, so it will be a long flight. DateXX and Newegg should disclose which models of ipod this item is compatible with, and the voltage requirements of the adapter.

Pros: very compact design, seems to work fine.

Cons: from the pics online it looks way bigger than it is. Double check the size before you buy.

5 out of 5 eggsvery useful product

Pros: This has all the abilities of more expensive charging solutions with the bonus of hand-cranking and a flashlight. You can charge any portable handheld device with this if you have the correct tip. The battery is powerful enough to charge my Nano or cellphone and is itself easily recharged with the included AC adapter. Hand-cranking works too but I usually charge the battery and then the device instead of hand-cranking to charge the device.

I've used this as a nightlight for kids and it works great, it lasts all night for essentially no power cost since it only requires a few minutes of cranking to power it all night.

Cons: There are other products that have removable AA or AAA batteries which this lacks. That would make this even more useful, but then again they don't have hand-cranking or such a bright built-in LED flashlight.

Other Thoughts: Buy this if you travel or want the ability to charge your cellphone, PDA, iPod or other handheld device in an emergency. It's far too weak to charge a laptop but for anything that draws around 500ma it works great.

5 out of 5 eggsMuch cheaper then buying a back-up battery

Pros: This delivers on all its promises.

Cons: The ability to use disposable batteries (i.e. a couple of AA Alkaline) would be uber cool as a third method of charging this. Maybe that feature will be on the DATEXX LED-100 :)

Other Thoughts: With standard extra phone batteries costing in the $75-$200 range this is a great way to extend battery life of you mobile for low dollars. Plus the added benefit of being able to charge small devices in a post apocalyptic environment using the hand crank will be very cool when the revolution comes ;)

5 out of 5 eggsReally cool

Pros: Must have! It charges my Motorola Krazr, my iPod Nano, and works as a flashlight. Has a plug in charger and a hand crank that you use to put a charge into the internal battery (not user changeable). My iPod plugs directly into the USB socket on top and happily charges up. Cell phones us a special USB cable that accepts different tips for each type of cell phone; I had to purchase one that would work with my Krazr as the Motorola tip that came with it was for the older 2-pronged charging port. I carry this with me at all times, and use it to extend/charge my iPod and CKrazr, I’ve even used the flashlight a time or two. I have other portable chargers and this one is the best deal I’ve seen.

Cons: Had to buy a special tip to charge Motorla Krazr or Razor

Other Thoughts: In a long power outage where you won’t be able to use the wall-charger, you’ll have to crank the thing by hand to charge it. It would be nice if you could somehow use disposable batteries with it too.
