Pros: I've had these Energy EF-500 speakers for about 7 months and absolutely LOVE them! They are a key feature of our entertainment system in our large (20ft x 28ft) family room, and they fill the room with high quality sound with NO problem at all. They reproduce crisp highs, rich mids, and punchy lows; however, they are not intended for deep bass, so I have them pared with an Onkyo 10" powered sub. A first-impression, tell-tale sign of most high-end speakers is that they sound 'tight' at first and require a 'break-in period' to deliver their full spectrum of sound (cheep speakers typically sound as good as they're going to get when first hooked up). When I turned on my receiver after hooking them up, these EF-500s indeed sounded very tight. I was initially doubtful that these would sound much better after the break-in period, but after several days of use they loosened up and blew us away.

My son-in-law has a similar setup in their home with Klipsch Synergy F-20s (similar-ish design), and these Energy EF-500s sound just as good (if not better). Not surprising if you consider that Klipsch Group is the parent company for Energy speakers...

Cons: I paid $99/pair for them on sale Oct 2012, and I should have got two pair. Will probably never see that price again...

Pros: Hard to go wrong for a c-note. These are doing great as rear surround speakers, and could be primaries in a small to medium room. They don't require much power and can handle a fair amount.

Cons: Coated paper drivers, not made in the USA, and the bass could be lower, but are still better than expected.

Pros: Great sound, look great, pretty sturdy.

Cons: Could use some better feet, especially at the price they're charging for them now.

Other Thoughts: I bought these speakers in a kit that included the center channel and surround speakers. Glad I bought them when I did because the whole kit cost me less than $300, which was obviously a HUGE bargain. The sound is nice and smooth, no real harshness to be found at all. The bass is a bit lacking, but that's what they make subwoofers for. All in all they are a great set of speakers considering most speakers that compare would cost you what they currently go for, each.

Pros: Price $99 (would easily pay $299)
Sound Quality - great clear range, good bass for the woofer size.
Good connectors
Fills the room or building with sound when turned up.
Everything about these is great!

Cons: Would be better if the base were a bit heavier to prevent tipping a bit more but great nonetheless.

Other Thoughts: Simply put: If these are on sale, buy them. Well worth the money.

I have these hooked up to an old school receiver and they work great even though they are only 6 ohms.

Pros: Great looking towers. Sound is amazing; crystal clear even at high volume. Good down to 50Hz. I have two pair, one pair for front left/right and one pair for rear channels.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: Paired this with the Pioneer SW8 sub and a Denon AVR-391 receiver for an outstanding theater and music experience.

Pros: Cost. So many picked these up on Black Friday for $99, I got them at $129, free shipping. These immediately replaced my Samsung HT Set.

Cons: I did not buy 4 more pair when on sale. Other than this, if they hold up for 5 years, that would be 7 cents a day for the cost delivered.

Other Thoughts: This was an absolute no brainer when I came across these. Would never have looked at the present price of $599, although still can be had elsewhere for about $300 if you look hard enough. I kick myself for not realizing, while totally realizing it was NOT to good to be true. If you get these under $300, you will not be sorry.

Pros: The mids and highs very good.
Not too heavy, so moving them around was very easy.
Excellent for the price (especially if you can get them on sale).

Cons: The base isn't great, but with no sub-woofer, that's to be expected. Also, these are 6 Ohm speakers, while most low-end speakers are 8 ohms, so a lot of cheap receivers won't work as well with these (though higher end ones generally will).

Other Thoughts: They look nice and they're WAY better than the built-in speakers on the TV.

Cons: not the best looking speakers I ever saw
not the best bass (but that is what a sub is made for)

Other Thoughts: For under a hundred bucks, you cannot beat this price. These sound better than the Polk 50's or 60's IMO. When I first got them and played through my Denon AVR-2313, I was kinda nervous. But after a couple of days I noticed how amazing they were. No fatigue like the Polk's at ALL. I can listen to these for hours. You DO need a sub though, if you like bass. These aren't the bass champs of the world, but they aren't supposed to be, they go nicely with my Martin Logan 5.1 set up. I'd say these are twice the price at least. If you need an economical set of speakers for your HT, and you are not some douchie audiophile who needs 5K worth of speakers to be cool, grab these, you wont be sorry!

Pros: Efficient and dynamic. The top end and midrange manages to be open, articulate, and detailed without being harsh or edgy. Relatively forgiving when it comes to pairing... it shines with great electronics. Performs well above its price class for sure. The light weight build doesn't show up in its sonics i.e. no bad cabinet resonances.

Cons: The only fault I hear is the slight lack of cohesion between the Top and Bottom bands. The lower frequencies are less refined and can't quite keep up with the upper frequencies in terms of timing and refinement.

Other Thoughts: I guess Klipsch thinks its easier to market this speaker under the Energy label than the original Jamo label. Its a great speaker never the less.

Pros: Professional design, Sounds incredible, Slim & sleek, Nice weight to them

Cons: Don't expect much from the bass

Other Thoughts: These are some amazing speakers for the money. Even though they are rebranded, don't that fool you; these speakers pack a punch!

Be sure to break them in for about three days of normal use until you rate them on how they sound. Out of the box, they don't sound that incredible, but after some time, the true sound starts to shine.

As long as you have the crossover set at in the 70-80Hz range, you should have these speakers at optimal levels. Just make sure you have a dedicated sub as well; even though these speakers are starting at 48Hz in frequency, you're not going to get that deep bass you love without a good sub. :)
