Polk's Monitor Series has been the gold standard of speakers since the 1970's. This current generation features clear, accurate sound with strong bass and exception aural imaging. Polk made the enclosures out of MDF to be uniform in density and not resonate. They've also included ¾" thick baffles to help produce clear lifelike sound.
The two 5.25" cones are made from a bi-laminate composite for an optimal balance of weight and rigidity. The small driver delivers a wide open sound and exceptional responsiveness. The 1" tweeter is a fabric/polymer composite the responds swiftly to the high efficiency Neodymium magnet. The crossovers between the drivers use Mylar bypass capacitors to let all of the details in the higher frequencies shine through.
No matter how good they sound, they have to look good too. Their contemporary look compliments today's flat panel televisions and modern decorating styles. They're magnetically shielded so you can place them near your electronics. The slim design takes up less than one square foot.
Pros: Great sound, fantastic looks, Bi-wiring/Bi-amping binding posts. A terrific upgrade from the speakers I've had previously (Sony, KLH, Inifinity, Sansui, Pioneer, couple of others I don't remember). Great value for the price. Much more efficient and much lower distortion than most every other set I've ever used.
Cons: Not a top-of-the-line speaker series, price drops indicate that these are soon to be updated/replaced in Polk's lineup.
Other Thoughts: UPS needs to learn how to handle these with more care. They are well packed, but the boxes were beat up pretty bad. These are pretty good speakers for the money, and Newegg carries all the additional speakers needed to build a voice-matched 5.1 or 7.1 HT setup.

Pros: Great for the price, I'm using them as center surrounds on my 7.1 system
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: U.P.S. damaged cabinet, small hole ripped in box thus resulting in a slighty marred finish ... ughh

Pros: So lets get one thing straight, these speakers are cheap. They don't look cheap, and they don't sound cheap. However these are definitely not the most powerful setup by a long shot. Quality is what you would expect for a 100 dollar per speaker setup, good enough. It even makes 2 way easy by having two separate connectors per speaker.
Cons: For this price, I really have nothing bad to say, other then the fact that they are not all that powerful.

Pros: for the money these rock! Can't do better for less money.
Cons: Not as powerful as their 70 series cousins, but they are twice the money.

Pros: Good weight, sturdy speakers. Cherry finish looks good, matches my furniture and contrasts with my lighter american cherry floor
The sound is just amazing with these. I am using them for fronts with a CS2 center and 30's for the surrounds
More low end than I was expecting
Can hear details in movies that I've never heard with TV speakers, or the 2" Yamaha satellite speakers that came with my AVR. Clear and crisp.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I was expecting no bass at all from some of the other reviews, but these speakers have enough to fill the sound, and even provide a small amount of rumbling for movies.
Multiple small-diameter driver design delivers wide dispersion, better mid-range, and more detailed bass response for an open, "box-less," three-dimensional sound.
Non-resonant all-MDF enclosure construction with 0.75"-thick baffles and front–to-back and side-to-side internal bracing ensures cleaner, clearer, more lifelike sound quality.
Crossovers use Mylar bypass capacitors for more detailed high frequencies.
Magnetically shielded for safe placement on or near TVs and video monitors with no risk of video distortion.
Lower -3dB Limit: 57Hz
Upper -3dB Limit: 24kHz
Crossover: 2.3kHz, second order high and low pass
Enclosure Type: Vented via rear panel flared port
