Pros: Clean sound, up to 200W of power output, great looking, "big filling sound".

The Series 2 knocked down the price of this series 1 when the specs are identical. These are clean and powerful speakers - great for home theater enthusiasts starting off, audiophiles on a budget, and people who just want great speakers without a huge investment. Get a nice receiver and a nice sub to go with these and more likely than not, you'll be impressed.

Other Thoughts: would make a very good birthday present. sounds great even compared to the high end of the high end speakers,
5 1/4 inch woofers sound great with no distorsion at loud levels, if your on a budget and you look at the right time you could find these speakers at a good deal, like 100 each, where msrp is 250 to 299 each.

Pros: I have these bi-wired to a 50 WPC Phillips receiver. I also use an AR 10" subwoofer and an equalizer in the stereo mode for music. I could not be happier with the sound quality that I am getting. I get plenty of bass from these, even a couple of times that I did not have the sub plugged in. Didn't really notice. Frankly, it all depends on the source music that you choose to listen to. They look nice and have a small footprint either side of my 40" LCD. The highs that these speakers produce is very clear and is never in the irritating range. They sound fabulous when watching movies. Mine are setting on carpet and have no stability issues as some have stated on wood floors. Also, I do not get the bass boom that I have with other speakers. I think the front port has something to do with that since it is not bouncing the bass off of the wall behind the speaker.

Cons: If I were a rich guy I would have gone wild on speakers, but for what I got for the price, there ain't no Cons!

Other Thoughts: My speakers arrived in perfect condition. I did have them shipped to my workplace because I read a review that said things going to businesses tend to arrive in better condition. True or not I didn't take the chance. I have read a lot about Breaking-in the speakers, maybe there is truth to that but I must say that mine sounded good right out of the box to me. I did leave music playing all day while at work for a week just in case that was some truth to the myth.

Pros: For the price (repeat) there is no comparison - by far. I have taken time to listen to a wide variety of speakers in the price range and higher, this one brings it home and more.

When you read about 'I could hear things I never heard before', I never really could understand what the fuss was all about - now I do.

These are used for music / HT 50/50 so not only do they do a great job on the nuances of the music I listen to - but hearing every whisper, click and whoosh in a BluRay movie is something else. Dont wait these wont last long.

Other Thoughts: I stress the price point here - of course a speaker costing $1000 will sound fuller, richer and deeper, but at this price point, the Monitor 60 are the clear leader.

Pros: Can you get better speakers than these? - Sure.

However for the price these are awesome. Well built and sound quality is very good. Would definitely recommend for a budget system.

Cons: None really. The lows could use more help so if you're interested in high boom you do need a subwoofer, which I think most people have these days, and for the price I can't really call it a con as they do handle lows respectably.

Other Thoughts: I bought these on a whim when I seen the price. I never heard them before the purchase and I was a little nervous spending the money. The sound quality and the amount of sound I receive from these was way above my expectations. I'm so estatic from the sound I decided to complete my stereo system with the polk series!

Pros: Ordered Tuesday morning; delivered Wednesday in NJ. Wow! Great looking. Good value. Crisp, not muddy. No damage. Punching up the power, these babies seem to have no limit. Clean high end. Hear more of soundtracks.

Other Thoughts: I use with older ADC equalizer and a sub-woofer. Sound good alone but better than expected in 5.1 HT surround. Displaces older bulky speakers so wife likes them too. Look good with grill on or off. First Polk product purchased won't be the last. As always, newegg is a dependable source for my needs.
