Polk Audio CS1 Black Center Channel Loudspeaker Each

Pros: This speaker is magnetically shielded well, it hasn't damaged my monitors. It has a sleek, clean design and somewhat light weight for easy mounting. The bass is okay, it handles loud volumes.

Cons: I wish I bought a better model or brand, the treble sounds quality is extremely lacking, it's coarse and tinny. You get use to it, but just playing my DCM-12 tower speakers it's like a breath of fresh air. I still probably won't replace it but I wasn't happy with the purchase. They could of put more money into making a better sounding treble.

Pros: Great full sound. Sounds better then some floor standing units. It over powers my floor standing units and had to turn it down.

Cons: A little big but the sound makes up for it.

Other Thoughts: A must have for full surround sound. Dont let the price fool you. I have bought overpriced speakers and learned the hard way you cant go by just price. Its how it made.

Pros: These are a very good and clear CS .. They have a wide sound stage but very clear .... I have some hearing loss but these have fixed that issuer for me. Remember the CS is the main speaker in a Home Theater set - up

Cons: Just be aware these are not little speakers

Other Thoughts: allow them to break in ........ had almost a month and gets better with each play

Pros: This speaker provides an excellent frequency response along with the typical speaker goodies such as 5-way binding posts that you can plop banana plugs into. It's exceptionally clear and flat sounding. At this price you are stealing this from newegg.

Cons: It's definitely bigger than you think. Get your tape measure and make sure you have room. I have a sizable entertainment stand so this fit quite nicely on my shelf just below the TV. It's not a CS2.

Other Thoughts: Hooked up with other Polk speakers this is obviously my center channel driven by an Onkyo HT-RC260. Sub is the only non-Polk unit (Sony).

Pros: sounds great, mids and highs. can't beat it for the price. makes me wish I had a complete set of polks.

Cons: its a little big, i had to get a tv shelf to put it on my tv

Other Thoughts: I caught this speaker on sale for $69.99 + $2.99 shipping which isn't that bad. This speaker is a huge improvement over my previous yamaha center channel. Beware, this speaker is massive and may not fit nicely in your home theater. But, for the clarity at this price, it's a no brainer! Buy this speaker!

Pros: great entry level center speaker, provides realistic sound reproduction, price...

Cons: none really, its a great speaker at this price!

Other Thoughts: I actually ended up selling this one and looking to upgrade to a bigger center but thats just me, guess I caught the upgrade bug :)
If you can afford a better speaker than go for the CS20!

Pros: Very clear sounding. I never heard a CS20 but don't see how it could get any better. Voices sound much clearer. I like it so much I had to buy a set of Monitor 60's to go with it today. Last day for the $110 a piece sale. The CS1 was about $73 shipped. I can't give a real technical review because I'm not an audiophile, but if you're like me and really didn't want to spend a fortune on speakers, grab these when they're on sale and you'll be happy you did.

Cons: The speaker is very big. I wish it could have been shorter. It's about one inch too high where I have it placed in front of a Samsung LN52B750. So if you have any of the Samsung Touch of Color series TVs, the speaker will be in the way if you sit low. The height thing is fine if the video you're watching has black bars anyway.

Other Thoughts: The polk speakers I've mentioned seem to be the best bang for the buck speakers you can get right now. I really didn't want to spend much on new speakers but the quality of the CS1 got me to order the monitor 60's and I'm sure I'll be happy when they arrive. Grab these when they're on sale and don't hesitate because they've been discontinued and once stock is gone you won't be able to buy them anywhere.

Pros: Excellent sound quality, excellent overall build quality, gets much louder and much clearer than the Yamaha HTiB tiny center it replaced. It even rivals the huge Definitive center channel my boss has in his $3500 7.1 Denon/Definitive setup!

Cons: Not really a con, but it is definitely big. I have my HDTV mounted on a swivel mount, with a small shelf below it, and a larger shelf below that. I had to move my receiver to the bottom shelf with everything else, with just the center on the top shelf.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg was great! Shipped fast, arrived in perfect condition. Another satisified NewEgg shopper!

The sound is amazing!

Pros: Got this on sale and for the money it was worth it.

Cons: After reading all the reviews, I thought this center speaker would make dialog in the movies sound great but it ends up sounding a little muddy. I wish I would've stepped up to the CS2. Maybe next time.
