The sound isn't really coming from out of thin air, though your guests may think so. The frame and grill of the RC60i in-wall speakers are paintable to match virtually any décor. Its round design mimics the look of recessed lighting. The easy install cam locks make installation a four step process, cut hole, run wire, install speaker, enjoy the music.

These full range speakers have a 40Hz to 20kHz frequency response so you don't even need to find a place to hide a subwoofer. The mid/woofer is an 6.5" mineral filled polymer cone and the tweeter is a 0.75" metalized soft dome tweeter. The tweeter is swivel mounted in a ball-and-socket joint so you can precisely aim the sound.

These speakers use durable, moisture resistant materials so they are safe to use in bathrooms, kitchens, or under the eaves. They are tuned to use the in-wall space as a virtual enclosure for fantastic bass response.

N/A 4/22/2013 11:40:27 AM Tech Level: 4/5 Ownership: 2/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 5/5Great for rear/surround Pros: I just installed 2 of these in my living room for back/surround speakers they sound great for music and movies alike I was a little afraid they would get lost with my promonitor 70 fronts and 25c center but they fit in very well not a ton of bass however I wasn't expecting a lot from them these are not meant to blow your ear drums out in my opinion they are for surround and presence however in the ceiling between my 1st and 2nd floor they do have some kick I did not add insulation around them at this point as others have done. I did not have any issues with the grill as others have. Cons: I hate patching holes in the wall after snaking wires, not really the speakers fault. I do feel that the wire connectors could be a bit tighter I used 14ga wire and it was popping out of the connector because it was so stiff. Other Thoughts: Great addition to my setup! Other Thoughts: Maybe its due to the fact that I don't have a subwoofer in the room but bass response is limited at best. But... what the hay - they're six inch speakers! Cons: High frequencies not as pronounced as I would expect. Other Thoughts: Makes a nice addition to get music in my kitchen without having extra equipment standing around. Clean install and decent sound. High freqs not as pronounced as I'd like, but then again I guess I am spoiled with M70s in the tv room. Did you find this review helpful? The tweeters can be angled to provide the separation you want, and the mids are pretty clear. Bass is okay for 6.5" speakers - I'm happy. They also install quite easily, and if you need to pull them out for some reason that's easy enough as well (hint: use a paperclip to remove the grill). Cons: While they say they use the wall as a "virtual enclosure," don't believe it's going to sound like a sub - their bass response is decent but it's still a set of 6.5" speakers. Comparable to a good car system (without a sub). If I had to nit pick, the plastic legs that are used to secure the speaker in place could be a little more robust, but just the same they didn't break on me. Also, a lower profile design might be useful for some users (I didn't have a problem installing them in my dropped ceiling). Other Thoughts: Works fine as a ceiling install. If you want really big bass sound, get an in-wall sub or similar - but try these out first as they're pretty effective just the same. When I play music, I use whole room stereo, and they sound great. If they were your only speakers, you'd probably want something deeper with a bit more punch, but if you are using them for second zone music or surrounds, they are ideal.
