5 out of 5 eggsAwesome speakers. You want them.

Pros: These replaced a set of so-so speakers with decent sound but practically no stereo imaging. Wow, what a difference! I am so happy I made the switch. These have far superior sound and a huge sweet spot for stereo imaging. Coupled with a quality subwoofer, they produce sound to rival much larger speakers. Even without the subwoofer, they seem like they could perform admirably on their own.

They are also very attractive and hook up nicely with screw-down posts rather than just wire clips. According to the manual, it is also possible to plug in banana-plug connectors, although I didn't need to investigate this possibility.

Cons: Just a tad large for bookshelf speakers. I'm using them in a bedroom and can't quite position them optimally due to their size, although this is somewhat mitigated because they seem to be quite forgiving when it comes to positioning.

Other Thoughts: They are definitely worth getting if you are thinking about a top-quality pair of bookshelf speakers. Probably best suited to medium-to-large room sizes where you don't want to either spend the money or dedicate the space to full-size floor standing speakers. Pair them with a good subwoofer for best results.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Once I set up the the EQ for these speakers, they sounded amazing. High ends are crisp, mids are clean and the bass is a real surprise! Stevie Ray Vaughn sounds almost live. The first riffs of "Voodoo Child" made the dog think that someone was knocking on the door. From classic to jazz, rock to RNB, blues to alternative - these little speakers make it sound great. I bought these for our living room. Will get two more pairs for the media room along with a sub and center. I listened to lots of speakers and these sounded the best. Now that they are in our space - I'm blown away.

Cons: These sound best mounted 6" - 12" away from the wall. The sound is just a bit richer, but it does make it hard for them to be wall mounted or on a bookshelf.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat speakers

Pros: Detailed sound reproduction, taut bass, loud for a bookshelf speaker. They look good.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I have the pair of Tsi 200's hooked to a Yahama RX-V465 and the Virtual Cinema DSP ( surround sound without surround speakers) is like that. But I will be adding more speakers for true surround sound in the future. Newegg has the best prices and fastest shipping.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent for the price

Pros: I purchased these speakers after 3 months of arduous online shopping for the best priced bookshelf pair I could find. I tested some used Infinity speakers that were "ok", and also put these head to head with a pair of Infinity Primus 162's. I bought a pair of these Polks AND the infinities, knowing that I would return one of the 2.

The review: Polk TSi200 vs Infinity Primus 162
As history goes, unless you spend huge $$ on Polks, they are not known for high end brightness. Most long-term audio fans know that. These speakers break the mold, I believe. There are (2) 5.25 drivers with a 1" tweeter. They are bi-wire capable, and are meant to be wired that way. I have these paired to a H/K avr240, which is a "low" wattage 55 watt receiver. It is a decent receiver, and was a good test. I also have a 2 channel Yamaha RX-350 stereo 2 channel amp, to also test these. Firstly to reiterate, you need to bi-wire these speakers to get the fullest output

Cons: none. They are excellent for the money. They are a great value, and if you can't demo speakers, like none of us can any more because there are no more stores left, then try these!

Other Thoughts: Here are my impressions, Sound-wise:
1) EXTREMELY bassy. But all in a very good way. They swallow up the low end and in 80% of the cases don't really need a sub except for home theatre.

2) The highs: Are bright. but just enough. I have the treble setting maxed out at 8/10 on both receivers I tested, and it was not too bright at that setting. The response at O was too flat. These speakers really need to have the treble up to at least 6.

3) I listen to mostly acoustic based music. I find that it is VERY hard for speakers today to reproduce a natural sounding upper end (ie the high notes of a guitar, clear cymbal crashes, etc etc). The Polks can do that. They are not perfect, but for $200, they are very good. The infinities are were not as good all around. Their bass response was no where near the Polks, and the upper end response was just ok. The Polk's mid range is also excellent. I would buy these, and I highly recommend!

4 out of 5 eggsGood job for a low price

Pros: Solid speaker that is cosmetically pleasing, very clear and defined reproduction in a fairly small package. Great speaker for rear speaks in a 5.1 array.

Cons: Not quite as livily a sound as I have experienced with other polk speakers.

Other Thoughts: Midline speakers, may consider looking into the RT series but, the RT price is quite a bit higher.
