Polk Audio RM510 5.1CH High Performance Home Theater Speaker System

Pros: This system is compact and surrounds work OK in a bedroom sized home theatre.

Cons: Speaker wire connections do not accomodate 10 Gauge wire. Wall mounts only allow tilt adjustment in one axis.

Other Thoughts: My dedicated home theatre room is only 12x14 feet. I deployed this as an adjunct to a good Left-Right pair for a 7.1 system. The surround and subwoofer work OK in this venue, but the center channel is notably weak.

Pros: I don't know how to explain it, but when you pick these speakers up, they feel like high quality speakers. They have a great weight to them. I love how they came with wall brackets to mount them too. The sound is great as well, i have no complaints. All in all, these are some great speakers. definitely worth the $$

Cons: none that i can thin of.

Other Thoughts: I'm using them in a 7.1 set up, im using the RM8's as the two side speakers and the RM7's as the surround speakers. I might have to fool around with them to get the optimal setting.

Cons: I wish they have a screw hole on the back of the satellite speakers so I can use the stands that I bought for those previous ones so I have to improvise a little bit to make it work with the stands. No other cons.

Other Thoughts: Adjust and fine tune your receiver EQ if any and importantly the CROSS-OVER setting on the receiver and the Volume on the sub, You will get a decent balance sound from this system.

Pros: These have a superior feel and build quaility. The speakers are heavy to the feel and the sub is a tank. This thing pumps out bass that is room filling and no distortion.

This is my second set. I have been eyeing this set's price for 8 months, waiting for it to go down. I caught it on Newegg this week for 179.99 shipped. You cant go wrong with this set for that price. I paid 249.99 for the first set.

A note to make is that: The SUB on this system is 100 to 200 WATTS MAx the sub on the Polk System with 135 Reviews is 50 to 100 MAX. I don't know why so many people bought the other set vs this one but I can't imagine it being better than this set.

Cons: I cant think of any cons to be honest. It does what you need it to do and the quality is great. I am VERYYYY picky about feel, weight, smell, functionality... All the things that give off the perception of good or poor quality and this set passes with flying colors.

Pros: I've been using these for about 5 months (with an Onkyo TX - NR609), and I couldn't be happier. They produce great sound whether I'm listening to music, playing a game on the PS3, or watching a movie. I live in an apartment with a modestly sized living room, so I needed high quality speakers that weren't going to take up a lot of space, and these did not disappoint.

Cons: If the sub is on 'auto', it'll occasionally cut out; I tend to switch it to 'on' prior to watching a movie.

Pros: Geat sound for a 5.1 setup

Cons: Setup can be a bit tricky, but once you get it right is awsome for a bedroom.

Other Thoughts: You might want to invest on some good 8 guage speaker wire for your rig.

Pros: the surrond speakers are clear and crisp. although you need to turn the crossover frequency up because they lack midrange.

Cons: subwoofer stopped working after three days.

Other Thoughts: I am active duty military and was out to sea and couldnt RMA within the 30 days and newegg wouldn't work with me to return it. Good thing Polk audio customer service is better.

Pros: I really appreciate not on the quality of these speakers, but also the overall value. For the retail price, they're good. For the actual purchase price (I paid less than retail with a promotional code), they're great. The sub throws out a ton of bass (and has an off switch, which I'm sure my upstairs neighbor appreciates). It features a dial to fine-tune the volume and another to fine-tune the low-pass.

Cons: My only complaint are the wall mounts. Placing the curved surround sound speakers behind the viewing area proved troublesome and took some finagling' to get them just right.
