The name "Monitor" adorned the speakers that first made Polk famous. Monitor means simple, sturdy construction, clear, accurate sound, powerful bass and superior imaging (all at a surprising price). This new Monitor is classic Polk: a quality-built, affordable line of high performance loudspeakers for music and home theater. They are highly efficient, so they can be driven easily by unpretentious receivers, and they are voice-matched for lifelike surround sound environments. The Monitor Series boasts a stylish look that complements today's flat screen technology, with wood grain finishes and modern Titanium faces. Built for sound quality and value, the Monitor Series is a great introduction to high performance sound.

This 4-way ported speaker is the flagship of the high performance Monitor Series. Its multi-driver design and non-resonant enclosure delivers the classic Polk sound (open, spacious and clear), even when driven by modestly-powered amplifiers and receivers. Its size guarantees a bold, realistic audio experience whether you’re building an extreme home theater or a sensitive stereo system.

  • newegg Monitor-Grade Sound 1-inch (25mm) silk/polymer composite Dynamic Balance dome tweeter with powerful neodymium magnet structure delivers clear and detailed high frequency response for realistic reproduction of vocals and instruments. Four 6 1/2-inch composite Dynamic Balance drivers are lightweight and stiff with good damping for high efficiency, excellent bass and lower distortion. Multiple small-diameter driver design delivers wide dispersion, better mid-range, and more detailed bass response for an open, box-less, three-dimensional sound.
  • newegg Refined Bass Port Critically tuned flared port minimizes port noise (chuffing) for good low frequency extension with low distortion, resulting in natural, full-bodied sound with rich bass.
  • newegg Finest Crossover Circuit Crossovers use Mylar bypass capacitors for more detailed high frequencies.
  • newegg Sophisticated MDF Cabinet Non-resonant all-MDF enclosure construction with 3/4-inch thick baffles ensures cleaner, clearer, more lifelike sound quality. Tower models feature additional front-to-back and side-to-side internal bracing for further reduced resonance.
  • newegg Top Class Construction Dual 5-way binding post connectors allow for more secure hook-up options, as well as bi-wiring and bi-amping flexibility.
  • newegg Built to Last All Polk products are made using the best materials and the most advanced manufacturing techniques. They pass the industry’s most exhaustive quality tests, including drop testing, extreme signal response and UV & salt exposure testing. Polk loudspeakers are built to perform for a lifetime.

3 out of 5 eggsThese + Yamaha AVR = bi-amp

Pros: bought at 180 apiece

Cons: Power starved on Yamaha RX-V673

Other Thoughts: These did not sound good on my receiver. I had to bi-amp these to get them sounding worth even the deal of a price but without a dedicated amp and using the Yamaha's internal channel for bi-amping you lose 7.1 option.

5 out of 5 eggsBOOM!

Pros: I waited on grabbing a pair of these until they went back on sale, and they effectively doubled the output of my 5.1 system going to 7.1. Excellent sound quality, do a search and you'll find lots of reviews on them. I highly recommend them if you can find them on a decent sale.

Cons: None so far. They sound great!

5 out of 5 eggsMonitor 75T

Pros: Very pleased with these speakers. They have very nice highs and decent mid and bass. At this price point I don't think you will find anything better.

Cons: None Yet.

Other Thoughts: These replaced a pair of Polk RT400's that are still working and this is a major improvement. I have a Yamaha RX V473 receiver went into setup menu and turned on extra bass and this helped. I put in some Led Zeppelin turned it up and the clarity was fantastic heard background that I have never heard before.

3 out of 5 eggsok

Pros: not too expensive, looks good, highs are very good

Cons: low bass, low mid

Other Thoughts: have 2 of these speakers hooked to a yamaha RX-V473 80 w/ch at 8 omhs, the highs are pretty good but vocals sound thin and bass is weak.
this speakers are ok i think.

3 out of 5 eggsI Guess It's Ok

Pros: not too expensive, looks good, outstanding highs.

Cons: weak mids, weak lows

Other Thoughts: i'm using a Yamaha rx-v473 which outputs 80 p/ch at 8 omhs not 115 as one poster mentioned, with a pair of these speakers but the bass is really pathetic, u would think that 4 of the 6 inch sub drivers would sound acceptable but is not, so i got a powered sub and that fixed the bass problem.
i gotta say that the highs are crystal clear, the vocals are not well defined and sounds very thin.
overall i think this is a very average speaker that is not too bad for the price.

5 out of 5 eggspolk + newegg = good

Pros: I have 3 different polk speakers from newegg. They are good. This 75t sounds open, spacious, and clear as expected. Now all I want is a really good receiver with a bi-amp 7.2 setup and 2 powered subs. Turn that bass down.

Cons: As expected, speakers are big. Weight is around 55 lbs. Shipping is always a concern to me, but not a problem with 90% of these big items.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I do appreciate good audio quality. These speakers sound great out of the box, offering very good sound over a wide range of applications (games, movies, TV, music).

The build quality is great, but I'm not sure if the grilles will hold up over time. I shall find out.

Cons: The bass is very clear; however, it isn't as quite powerful as I'd hoped. I'm not going to ding the product for this, but you may want a subwoofer.

Other Thoughts: If you can get these at NewEgg's recent sale prices, I would not hesitate to buy.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Crystal clear highs, defined mids, and enough bass for a metalhead like me. Everything I needed and a good price too.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: For those who say the 75 t's lack bass, a little set up adjustment, and enough time to "burn in" and they really come to life.

5 out of 5 eggsBest fronts for average joe

Pros: Size
Sound
Ease of setup

Cons: Finish rubs away
No internal bracing
No internal insulation

Other Thoughts: Great front speakers for first home theater. This is definitely the entry level into audiophile speakers. So I highly reccomend them. Make sure you complete this system with the monitor 25c!
