The WC-24 is for those who want home theater speakers that look as good as they sound. Compared to traditional center channels, Klipsch WC-24 takes up less space while still delivering high-output, low-distortion sound. In addition to employing an all-new proprietary technology “XT Tractrix Horn” to reduce a speaker’s width and depth, Klipsch WC-24 also features a timeless wood veneer cabinet finished in espresso or cabernet, which is made of an exotic, non-endangered Berlinia veneer from West Africa.

The WC-24 cabinet is carefully sanded, sealed, and stained (top coated with a polyurethane finish). This spray application involves 10 coats, with sanding in-between each coat to achieve the proper thickness. The cabinet is also inspected at every sanding level to ensure clarity over the stained veneer.

  • newegg Slim Stature The Klipsch WC-24 center speaker features a space-saving, slim design for a perfect match with your flat-panel TV, plasma monitors and other thin-line home cinema components. The all-new proprietary XT Tractrix Horn technology can dramatically reduce a speaker’s width and depth, and all the while delivering excellent output and dispersion.
  • newegg Exceptional Sound Quality The Klipsch WC-24 center speaker boasts dual 4.5" high-output, fiberglass cone woofers, a 1" titanium diaphragm compression driver mated to a 4.5" 80 x 80 round Tractrix(r) horn to deliver precise highs and amazing lows for crisp dialogue with dynamic impact. The XT engineering takes Klipsch’s time-proven philosophy to new heights by altering the surface geometry of the horn—making the WC-24 the true conversation piece of your home theater.
  • newegg Magnetically Shielded Using magnetic grille with no visible fasteners on baffle, the magnetically-shielded Klipsch WC-24 can be put at any proximity to display devices such as TVs and LCD monitors without loss of sound quality caused by interference.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing center channel speaker!

Pros: Amazing sound quality at all listening levels! Amazing quality from the inside out!

Cons: I honestly do not have one single complaint about this speaker.

Other Thoughts: I am sure there are some "sound junkies" out there that could find something wrong with this speaker, but for the rest of us out there, this speaker is simply awesome. I have a newer model (2012) 600W, 5.1 channel Denon receiver. My theater set up is in a room that is 20 ft wide x 13 ft deep, and this speaker is more than sufficient for my needs. I couldn't be happier with this speaker and would highly recommend it to anyone. On a side note, the craftsmanship of this speaker makes for an eye pleasing addition to my entertainment center.

4 out of 5 eggsgood center channel (but not great)

Pros: Rich mid-range, great for watching movies, casual music listening.

Cons: Weak at high, not crispy as a 10 years old mirage frx center

Other Thoughts: Initially a little disappointed at lack of clarity. However, the ultra smooth wood finish is remarkable enough to make up the shortcoming. Like the other reviewer said, it looks better than it sounds. After 2 weeks burnt in high frequency shows sign of improvement.

4 out of 5 eggsLooks better than it sounds

Pros: - Yes, the cabinet is awesome
- Nice intermediate size
- Sale price makes it very attractive

Cons: - Muddy upper midrange

Other Thoughts: I've had this center channel for almost a year now. I am using it a few times a week for movies played at moderate levels. I also have 2 x WF-34s and 2 x WB-14s as well as part of a 5.1 system. I am using an Onkyo NR509 receiver.
Maybe it's that my center channel is set in a cabinet or that I just have broken it in yet as much as the towers I use for listening to music, but this speaker just doesn't sound as good to me as I wish it did. Lower midrange and treble are pretty good, but vocals and similar pitches are just not that clear.
Yes, it still sounds 'good' (and looks great) but I was hoping for a more detailed sound and overall better performance especially given its full MRSP. I am hopeful it will improve with age without having to redo the electronics as others have described.

4 out of 5 eggshonest review

Pros: So, here is a hones review of WC-24 center speaker - I am a musician and having a brother who is an audio engineer exposed me to many different systems and variety of quality home speaker components. Amp used in this review is Onkyo Tx-NR809

This review will have 3 stages: Before burn-in, after burn-in and after speaker upgrade/burn-in
Upgrade consisted of:

1. Replacement all crossover parts with Jantzen z-superior capacitors, mills resistors, jantzen inductors - original crossover design was preserved
2. Replaced internal wire with a Dayton Audio 14 AWG in-wall speaker wire
3. Replaced/added sonic polyfill filler

"continued in cons"

Cons: After the initial hook up and calibration this center channel was a disappointment. Anyone who says that this speaker is great right after first hook up either hears what they want or never did hear good center channel. Sound stage is bad (just 2 degree angle change made huge difference), transparency was non existent and there was very little definition. Everything was "mushed together" If I had to give stars then I would give 2 stars (and say that it was a neutral buy if you can get it for less than 50% of MSRP)

But, it is common with compression drivers (plus all of the crossover components need to burn-in too) to get better performance after burn-in. I would say minimum burn-in for this should be 100 hours (I waited 200 to recalibrate)

After burn in things became a bit better. Speaker opened up a bit and the clarity/definition improved - sound was still mushed, but not as bad as before. Speaker was still with out the stage or transparency. I would give it 3 to 3.5 stars

Other Thoughts: Now - After the upgrade and 200 hours burn in I did final recalibration and wow!
Definition and clarity - what an improvement! I can now hear vibration of the voice strings during the dialog (speaker also, I guess due to the filler upgrade registers as 50Hz in both audyssey and room imaging software).
Transparency - big improvement - sometime it "disappears"
Sound stage has improved a lot - it took about 4-5 degree angle change before I started to notice changes

The speaker is still not the most detailed and "open" out there but even at MSRP it becomes a good buy and at the "50% deal" becomes an amazing (bare in mind that the upgrade cost in parts was about $140)

4.5 stars after the upgrade

Overall even before the upgrade this speaker is a good lower-mid level center (especially for the money - I would never pay MSRP for it). Do look into the upgrade if you want something more high end (beats DT CS8040HD) - if you can't do the upgrade it still is a good speaker for the mo

3 out of 5 eggs"Audiophile" Review

Pros: See my review of the Wf-35 floorstanders as my same general thoughts hold true here and it tells you more about my reference system comparison (B&W and Paradigm) and how they are being driven. The difference is that, what is merely a "weakness" in the WF-35s becomes a big issue with this center channel as it is a mid-range speaker of course.

That said, this is a very neutral sounding center channel that is still clear, not bright, and offers great low-frequency feedback. As with the WF-35s, I believe the center lacks "fantastic" imaging (imaging is okay) and is missing an upper-midrange presence, which is my biggest problem with this speaker. At $200 or so, for example, my JBL ES center in my basement sounds nicer -- in every respect, frankly (but doesn't look 1/3 as nice, to be fair). I've done a side by side just to confirm. I'm not saying this isn't a good value, because it is, however, center channels are tricky to get right and this one falls just short.

Cons: Lacks an upper-midrange that is used so much in a center channel.

5 out of 5 eggsDouble your pleasure

Pros: I have a built in wall center and was using a old "good in their day" pair of bookshelf speakers. So I bought a pair of the Klipsch's and put them just above the TV on the bookshelf. I'll add to all the good reports below. I had my wife in the room when I first turned them on and she appreciated the difference. This is the single best pair of speakers I've owned in 40+ years. I'm using them mostly for listening to internet radio on my Sonos so don't need surround sound.

Cons: At $230 including shipping, are you kidding . . .

Other Thoughts: Another 5 * for NewEgg on fast shipping, excellent packing by Klipsch, they come with 4 rubber feet. If you're thinking about buying a pair of the WC-14 bookshelf speakers, consider buying a pair of these.

5 out of 5 eggsBig can be beautiful

Pros: -Icon W series always looks great, yet to be disappointed
-great clarity at low volumes
-makes ears hurt before any distortion, so loud volumes => check
-got it for $230 and is a complete steal at that price. Buy it while you can

Cons: Makes my 65" Mits look small...guess that means I'll have to get the 73" or 82". Must be a conspiracy.

Other Thoughts: Getting closer to a complete Icon W 7.1 setup and this center has made me like this line of speakers even more. Also is it sad to be excited abut playing with my new center channel speaker? Please say no

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible Dialog Clarity

Pros: Gorgeous cabinet. Powerful, clear dialog that locks you onto the screen.

Cons: You'll be mad at yourself for all the movies you watched without it!

Other Thoughts: I bought 4 WB-14's and a WC-24 to be used in my 5.1 system powered by an Onkyo 709 and a Cadence CSX-12 sub. My system is installed in my 24'x16x9' living room, that opens up to the rest of the house. The WC-24 delivers clear powerful dialog that makes dialog in even the loudest action scene, clearly ineligible. Also, it firmly locks the dialog to the center of the screen, and off axis dispersion is also good. In Saving Private Ryan, all the horrors of war were pounded out of the WC-24 with power and precision. If you are looking at this speaker, buy it now before they're all gone!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat speaker

Pros: -Very clean & crisp sound for TV/movies and music (I actually think it does a better job with music). I paired it with VF-36 towers, and the set meets all my needs.
-Very polished quality furniture finish, your wife won't complain about this one.

Cons: A bit pricey without discounts; I got mine at a large discount during the holiday season, so very happy.

Other Thoughts: Need rubber 'leggings' (not supplied) to hold it in place - it has a very smooth finish and will otherwise slide around easily, a particular concern if you have small kids.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply Awesone!!!

Pros: Clear and crisp...voices are stunningly clear, of course a high end receiver helps.

Cons: None so far. I have had it for about 2 weeks and have not found any flaws.
