5 out of 5 eggsGreat Tv Questionable Service

Pros: I've been reading and watching for sales on this tv ever since i seen it in a store about 5-6 months ago. I waited and waited to get it and when the sale went to 899$ i placed my order for this magnificent tv. Now i ordered it on jan 6th but did not get it till feb 6th more on that in a moment. Once i got the tv and set it up it has been amazing. Great picture and just amazing 3D. I've watched a Samsung active 3D tv and to me there was no difference except for the fact i did not have to pay 150$ for the glasses. Tv had tons of picture settings to change and make it look great. I recommend going to AVS Forums or just searching 47lw5600 calibration settings and putting in what the experts recommend and tweak the settings from there.

Cons: So far there have been no cons from this tv. I just need a new Receiver in order to use all the grandness of the tv. Now about the service i got from Newegg and their shipping company CEVA. I ordered on the 6th of Jan. About the 9th of Jan my tv was at the local shipping plant ready to have the delivery scheduled. I waited because the estimated date was the 13th. The 13th came and no tv. So i called CEVA and they looked for about 5 minutes while i was on hold and came back and said "Umm Sir we lost your tv you should call Newegg and tell them that and see what they wanna do. Good Bye". Now at this point i'm more confused how you lose a 47inch tv and why is it newegg's problem. So i called Newegg and i filed a claim. Now if you haven't read the claim system, you should really take a moment to. The minimum wait is 3-5 and the max is 7-10 just for the claim. Due to my product being lost in shipping i had to wait 7-10 just to get a new tv orderedThis process is a very ridiculous

Other Thoughts: I do not believe the customer should have to wait 7-10 for a claim between the shipping company and Newegg in order to get my new tv sent. Since they already have my money for the order they should just send out a new one with a different company and deal with CEVA on their own. I know they do it so that CEVA can locate the tv and maybe get it to me. But to me i do not want a tv that has been lost because for all i know is that it was at some employees house for a week. This irritated me waiting 7-10 days. None the less it took 11 days. At this point i called Newegg after claim had been done and low and behold the tv is now out of stock. They just said they would give me a refund and if the tv came back in stock to place order and call. I asked about getting price matched and they stated "We will have to check into that cause it may not be beneficial to us to give you that price". After speaking with supervisor i got price matched. Ordered a new tv and got it in 3 days from UPS

5 out of 5 eggsLG 47LW5600 TV

Pros: I received it on 7th day after placing my order, UPS delivery was quick and it was nicely packed , good picture quality, 3D is awesome, I watched few 3D videos online and checked netflix movies, the wifi internet connectivity is seemless, 2 remotes, wifi dongle and 4 glasses are Cool. newegg price was the dealbreaker. :)

Cons: The verification process took few days (5 days for me), 2D to 3D is not comparable to cinema 3D but i will still say it is good.

Other Thoughts: overall it was a good deal for me, I feel lucky that I bought it before it is Out of Stock. i will suggest people to go for it if it become available again.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: After much searching and homework, this TV seems to be the very best choice for anywhere near the value. Consistently excellent reviews on many sites, from both the public and the professionals.

It will be replacing a 6 yr old 42" Samsung plasma that had been a good set until male teenager in home met Battlefield 3. The latter and all forms of PvP have met the permanent Banhammer.

Cons: None that I am aware of, other than waiting for it to arrive.

Other Thoughts: I had just ordered this, and nothing seemed amiss whatsoever. Payment has been charged to my account and I am eagerly awaiting my tracking #.

Now, I log in and this item is listed as "Out of Stock", and to my mind that all very much adds up to meaning that I placed on of the last successful orders. I will be heartbroken and very disappoint if I find out otherwise tomorrow,,, because Newegg Rocks, and Newegg wouldn't let something like that happen.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic TV, Fantastic price!

Pros: Perfect size TV for a medium size room. Paid 899 total, free shipping. After messing with the settings the picture is incredible. Also power consumption is extremely low which is awesome!

Cons: For this price there are no cons. In fact, I'm hard-pressed to think of any cons at all.

Other Thoughts: Shipping took a bit longer than expected (9 days), but I purchased it on a Saturday and MLK Day was in the mix. It was free anyway. The guys that dropped it off knew quite a bit about these TV's so that's a plus. Overall, this is the best value I found in this category of TV and I'm very satisfied.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic TV!

Pros: The picture delivered by this TV is fantastic. Everything I have thrown at it thus far has been amazing. This includes my HTPC, Xbox 360, HD cable, and a Wii. I wasn't sold on 3D in the home prior to this set, but consider me a convert. Other positives include the super thin design, plenty of inputs/outputs, 4 pairs of 3D glasses and a wifi dongle in the box. Don't forget the low price!

Cons: About the only thing I don't like is the sideways facing inputs/outputs. Facing down seems like it would have made more sense.

Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a 2.5 year old Samsung LN37B550 (which is still a solid TV and now resides in my computer room). While I haven't seen active 3D, I have to say that even at a lowered resolution the 3D delivered by the passive method on this TV is spectacular. Cheap, light weight glasses is definitely a worthwhile trade off. Smart TV is largely unnecessary for me, but it would be a nice feature for those who don't have a HTPC.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: contrast & black level
hdmi/arc inputs
wireless "N" 5ghz works well

Cons: zoom functions!
needs level adjustments out of box
speakers (similar to any thin hdtv)

Other Thoughts: It spent considerable time trying to get the backlight, contrast, black level, & brightness levels to something that would look reasonable regardless of channel/input. It seems that my old Sony hdtv was much better using the standard choices. My other complaint would be the zoom functions. No simple "zoom" to fill the screen with a 16:9 formated 4:3 channel. Also, no real equivalent to Sony's wide-zoom. The only choices are 16:9 zoom and cinema zoom, which is just basic levels of stretch and screen position. You have to go through the whole cinema zoom adjustments screen every time you would want to create the standard "zoom", a real "pia".

5 out of 5 eggsFirst Large LED TV

Pros: The brightness is very uniform. I've seen some sets where they are brighter in spots. 3D looks amazing on Cars 2. The 2D-to-3D conversion is only slighly gimick-y. The conversion works well, but not great. Very light, low power consumption, very easy to adjust brightness quickly whether making room darker or lighter. HDMI inputs a plenty! "Wii" like remote works rather well, especially for inputing text.

Cons: Netowork adapter is SLOW. I guess I can't complain too much when one comes in the box, when they could've easily charged extra. I'm connected via wireless N on a 5 GHz network, but every video has to stop and load too often to make me happy. For some reason, when watching Netflix, the display will automatically dim.

Last thing, and more of a gripe against the direction TVs are going: My old Hitachi Plasma looks great in HD, and great in SD. SD programming does not look nearly as good on this display. However, since upgrading from a 42" to a 47" I may have to adjust my veiwing distance accordingly. I guess SD programming isn't afforded the same attention as HD. Such is life...

Other Thoughts: I'm still getting nVidia 3DTV Play, my PC, and my TV to play nice. Played a little Borderlands in 3D, pretty cool. But I'm having isssues playing vidoes and getting them to display properly. Using a Core i7 960, 12GB RAM, and a GTX 560 Ti. All this, as well as the TV, shown as supported equipment for the nVidia software. And my PC certainly has enough horsepower. Growing pains I guess. I bought this set at a brick-and-mortar, and I got 6 extra glasses, for a total of 10!

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing television even if you don't care about 3D

Pros: We purchased this model when the sale price dropped to within 50-60 dollars of the 2D-only 47LV5500. We don't really care about 3D, but the contrast ratios are higher for this model (thanks to local dimming) and the HD picture quality is simply superb. This smart television comes with a USB wifi dongle, but it also has a built-in Cat 5 ethernet port for a wired connection if you're so inclined (as I am).

We've only taken advantage of a couple of the built-in smart apps; but the Netflix app's interface is as good as any I've seen (probably "better than any" would be more accurate), and the Plex client works very well if you have your own streaming video library - you just need to download the free Plex Media Server and install it on the computer that holds your videos/music.

Cons: This TV's picture is so much better than other television I've seen that I can't stand to watch anything on another television - I'm too spoiled. Also, it's too thin to put a Wii sensor bar on top - you'll need to set it at the bottom of the television.

Actually, to be serious - when you first power on the television the built-in apps can take 5-10 seconds to initially load. This can be a minor annoyance if you're turning it on to watch a Netflix movie. After the initial delay in loading, though, everything works great.

Other Thoughts: This is a superb HD television even if you never plan to watch anything in 3D. It comes with four pairs of 3D glasses; it comes with a wifi adapter; it's ridiculously thin and light.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic TV

Pros: 3D....Wow..Wireless Link Included WOW...Picture Fantastic...4 Pair of Glasess included, the Color/Contrast is Fantastic too.
TV & Picture 100% Thumbs up
The Dlink Wireless setup is straight forward/easy..if you can use your router too set your PC up..then you can do this too.
As long as your movies are not Bluray Size < if so break them up into 4GB peices> it will stream them Just fine.

Cons: Only cons I have are NO Inputs/Outputs on the Side of the TV....all are on the back ( even if they point to the side...the only access to them is from the back of the TV) would have liked the earphone Jack in the front/bottom of the unit....but guess all that is offset by the Amount of inputs this has...PLENTY of them.

Other Thoughts: I would Recomend this TV to ANYONE that wants a great TV, notch 3D ( it will blow you away)...the type of 3D LG Uses is called SBS < side by side>...not the red/blue glasses type...SBS looks like 2 Identical pictures on the screen..until you put it in 3D mode...then just 1 blurry screen...till you put the glasses on...the BAMMM 3D
