4 out of 5 eggsAwesome tv! but...

Pros: This television is really thin!
Picture quality is crystal clear!
Got it here from newegg on black friday for well under 50% retail!

Cons: Newegg (for the first time ever I've experienced) didn't know what was going on with my order. The television was still in the warehouse a week later after I ordered it. I contacted a newegg rep and they didn't understand why it was still there. Shortly after calling it was shipped to AIT.
AIT is another story. Making multiple phone calls, they couldn't give me a straight answer on when my package would arrive. When it made it to AIT a week later, they finally got a hold of me and told me they were unable to deliver it until the next week. In all, it took me just about 3 weeks worth of shipping to receive this tv.

Other Thoughts: I was very disappointed with the shipping of this product. This is a very expensive unit to be floating around for almost 3 weeks. However, when I did receive it, the packaging was 100% and the television works like a charm!
Also, I hooked up my xbox 360 to it with components and it does display at 1080p (1st gen 360). However, in some games I will get a black screen for 2-3 seconds every 15-30 minutes. in 720p with components, this does not occur. I have not yet updated the firmware.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat TV

Pros: 1. Came with 3 more months extended warranty (have to register online).
2. 10bit LCD panel better than D65U which use only 8bit panel (better picture accuracy).
3. Excellent power consumption when OPC is turn on (75watt when OPC activate but 245watt when OPC is off).
4. Reallyyyyyy thinnnnnnnnnnnnnnn LCD TV, probably thinnest LCD TV in its price range.

Cons: 1. Auto OPC is make picture too dim.
2. Firmware no longer update, right now latest firmware post on sharpusa.com is S0801101(mean 01/10/2008 version 1) but the firmware that came with my TV is S0804201. Confuse? yeah me too, so I call sharp customer service. They confirm that firmware in the web is still the latest, but when I tell them buy tv serial they say that I don't have to update cuz my firmware is newer. Even more confusing right?
3. Experience some picture distortion when using with my PC 1080p and the background is all white. And some ghosting picture too when play an animation movie and the color change dramatically in each frame (Kungfu panda, in the scene where he go throw across the screen for right to left) , I don't know it because my LCD is defected or it the best it can do.

Other Thoughts: I would have give 5 egg if I didn't experience any ghosting.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing TV!!

Pros: My parents bought this TV about 3 months ago. When I first saw it my jaw dropped and I knew from that point forward I was going to purchase an Aquos. I bought this TV in December and have been using it for about a month. The brightness and color clarity is amazing. The automatic contrast adjustment makes blacks look great, something that many LCD's are not good at. There are tons of inputs, pretty much anything I could ever need. The component and HDMI inputs on the side of the TV are great for quick gaming or PC hookup sessions. Overall I have been EXTREMELY satisfied with this tv. Buy an Aquos!!

Cons: The remote looks like something from a granny TV, a little big. Not a huge deal though, use your cable remote...

Skin tones can look a little reddish if you dont tune the colors out of the box. Buy one of those color tuning DVD's and you will be set.

Other Thoughts: Great TV for a great price!

5 out of 5 eggsVery happy!

Pros: We got this on Black Friday and it's been amazing. Optimum viewing for this is AT LEAST 8 feet away from the screen. Any closer and you're conscious of the SD resolution but eventually that won't be a consideration. We don't have Blu-Ray yet but the DVDs we have look amazing on this. I was freaked out initially by the color settings out of the box. The way the factory has it set you will burn your corneas. However, under the little door on the bottom of the remote you'll find an AV MODE button & you will get 7 or 8 viewing settings (4 more than my parents very expensive Samsung) that dramatically change the picture for the better. Choose your mode & go to the MENU button & make your tweaks. Piece of cake. The sound quality is great. Eventually we'll get a sound system but honestly the quality is wonderful, even if you have the volume high enough to blow you off the couch & into the wall behind you. Considering our room size, that's no mean feat. Very glad we got this one!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Newegg.com earned our return business because they made good on a promise to rectify an error on shipping costs. VERY impressed! Shipping via AIT, different story. AIT didn't bother to update us on a tracking number. The item was on the ground at our airport 8 days after we bought it and we had no idea. Even at this price, it's an incredibly expensive item to have floating around w/no idea of it's whereabouts. We expected much better service. Got the number from AIT, found it landed about 11:30 that morning & called the delivery company they contracted to see about delivery. They didn't know it had arrived. At this point beginning to wonder what we've gotten ourselves into. They caught up w/it the next day & told us they could deliver it the FOLLOWING Tuesday. Told them I didn't think so. I went out and got it. **Newegg.com folks, if you do read these things, your service is GREAT. But you might seriously consider finding better shipping partners. These guys just aren't it.**

4 out of 5 eggsHappy So Far?

Pros: Black Friday price. It works. I was a little worried after reading other reviews. No banding issues noted...yet (I'm hoping it never happens). No dead pixels. It's a nice looking set, better than many I've looked at. Picture is viewable at all angles. I'm not sure what else to say for pros, this is my first LCD TV. No issues with the built in sound, works for me.

Cons: Out of the box color settings were awful, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get them right. The reds and skin tones were killing me. Not enough info available to the amateur HDTV user to figure out all of the color settings, it was trial and error. May still need more tweaking. Not a con for Newegg or Sharp, but the shipper: I took the day off work to meet their schedule, and then they cancelled on me at the last minute. I was unable to have someone available for rescheduled delivery, ended up having to drive 50 miles to warehouse to pick it up myself. Not sure if there will be any recourse by Newegg.

Other Thoughts: It definitely needs HD content, SD is bloated and pixelated. I owned a regular DVD player, this TV rendered it useless, the DVD picture is horrible. Time to upgrade everything else. Based on price paid, I feel this TV was a great deal, and I am definitely happy with the set after adjustments. Sony XBR models are just too expensive. Not sure if I should try the available software update, I'm scared after reading some horror stories of set not turning on afterwards. What's that saying...if it's working don't fix it? I will probably post another review down the road as I test more of the TV's features.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Television

Pros: I did alot of research on tvs and foudn that this one is the absolute best bang for my bucks. I bought this TV at 999... got a great deal from Newegg! HD content looks great on it, my Xbox 360 looks great on it, and upconverted DVDs are crystal clear!

Cons: Although I am extremely happy with this TV, nothing looks absolutely perfect on it. Maybe I don't have all my settings just right, but for 1000$, this takes the cake as the best TV.

Other Thoughts: This TV is a model from a year or so ago, so it does not have all the latest technology, or features. Again, though if you can pick it up for around 1000$ it beats out similar tvs for the same price.

4 out of 5 eggsHappy

Pros: Beautiful picture especially with Blu-Ray. Very bright, crisp, and clear. I love the amount of image quality options in the menu. Just a nice looking set all around. The price was unbeatable with the Black Friday deal, especially with free shipping. ( THANK YOU NEWEGG!!!!!111 ) ^_^ The TV will include a card advertising membership to the free "Aquos Advantage Program." If you register the TV and sign up for the free Aquos Advantage Program you receive a 3 month extension on your 1 year factory warranty. This program also offers better tech support and over the phone help with setting up your new TV.

Cons: Mine came with a couple dead pixels. :-( It's not that big of a deal, they aren't noticeable, but it still made me a bit sad. I don't believe I can return it unless the dead pixels number to 8. The black levels don't seem to be that great but I am still tinkering with the image options. ( But hey, it's an LCD so a bit of that is to be expected. )

Other Thoughts: Be careful when you lift the main part of the box off. My remote fell out and almost hit the TV screen. Hahaha! >_<
I have yet to see any of the banding problems people have been mentioning with this TV. I have a 2 year old Sony LCD that has a bit of banding so I would definitely notice if my Aquos had it. I'll knock on wood and hope it doesn't show up.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome TV, great deal!

Pros: The TV looks fantastic and it hooks to my PC via HDMI without issue. I got a great deal on Black Friday with this too. Go Newegg!

Cons: It took 2 weeks to get it; however, this is to be expected during the holidays, I guess.

1 out of 5 eggsIt's bad experience

Pros: The TV looks great

Cons: The screen turned off in less than 3 hours after I got it, then it can never be turned on again. The power light keeps flashing whatever I did, I even try to disconnect the power and waited for several hours. The first service station number the custom service gave me is no in service. Really bad experience!!!!
