1 out of 5 eggsSamsung's customer service

Pros: The TV itself is great.

Cons: I bought this TV about 20 months ago. Last June the remote control got bad. I called Samsung to tell them that I need a new remote, they send a very nice but rather incompetent technician. He replaced some parts (bluetooth and remote modules) before he realized that the remote was bad. After waiting for three weeks I got a new remote (under warranty). Last week the new remote went bad again (obviously, there appears to be a problem with these remotes).

Thus, I called Samsung again and explained everything. I was told that the TV is now no longer under warranty. But I was able to convince the rep that the problem was due to a malfunctioning remote. The rep agreed to send out a replacement.

Today I got a call from Samsung. They said I would not get the new remote because the TV no longer has warranty. I said that the other rep already agreed to send the new remote. And on it went...

I am so disappointed in Samsung's customer service, their refusal to honor their warranty and their matching of a very nice TV with a cheaply produced, malfunctioning remote.

Other Thoughts: The remote is essential especially for accessing the SMART-hub functions (like Netflix). There exist iOS apps that can do the same but they are inconvenient and they cannot start the TV. Generic replacement remotes (like some Logitech models) cannot access the SMARThub functions.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful!

Pros: The best purchase I have ever made! I LOVE this TV! I upgraded from a 32' Samsung to this 55' Smart TV. Now I just need to get a bigger apartment...

Cons: The lag time is a bit long...but 'first world problems' right? Its perfect!

5 out of 5 eggsBEST-EVER

Pros: Man, this TV is great and it came cheap too. I love it and the colors are just awesome. Slim, and sleek and anyone that walks into my living room with this bad bo mounted on the wall just says: "WOW!" GREAT BUY and Shipping was excellent too....

Cons: Only 3 HDMI so if you connect all of your devices directly, you will be short unless you connect through an AV (Receiver) or you have an HDMI hub. I dont have such issue yet but I am knocking on wood since I havent purchased my game console yet. I hope not to have to connect that directly.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly what it says it is.

Pros: Okay, I got this TV from NewEgg and it is a great TV for the price. Could the apps be better? Yes. But, as I am only using this as a large monitor for my media center, it is fantastic. Coupled with my 2 Ceton InfiniTV Cable tuners, this TV will be responsible for me not accomplishing a lot of things outside of watching TV and Blu-Rays...

Cons: I am not a TV app person, but, I will say that I am not impressed with the apps. NetFlix, for example, displays at the lowest resolution possible. On my media center, which is the primary reason for this TV, NetFlix displays at the highest resolution. (My Internet is 30Mbps download, so it certainly isn't the cause...)

Other Thoughts: NewEgg had this TV on a special at almost half off! You guys are awesome!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent LED Edge lit panel!

Pros: Been after this for a while, it's the best non-3D Samsung at this size. I love the overall thinness, and the bezel fades into nothingness giving the impression of an even larger panel. It looks very arty. I've had this for a month cranking through my blu-ray collection and it's very sharp and bright. No blurring on fast movement, just the slightest of edge bleed in the corners in a pure black room. I'm a fan of Samsung monitors and LED TVs, have had four so far and no problems. Oh, it's also very light to physically move around, one person could heft it but use two just in case. ;)

Cons: Online apps appear quite rudimentary and is a near universal knock on this generation of Samsungs. I looked at them briefly. I'm hooked up to a Win7 MCE so I don't need any of them.

Other Thoughts: Very pleased so far, would recommend it and/or buy again; didn't see any of the issues the 1 star review noted.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Flat Panel

Pros: Excellent picture, light weight, thin profile. Wide viewing angle is great (170+ degrees). Remote is well laid out and has a back light for dark room usage which comes in handy. This set is very bright thanks to the LED. Wi-fi was simple to setup, the other web apps also.

Cons: Sounds seems a little hollow, but not bad for such a thin set and definitely adequate for most TV usage. Run it through your own sound system to kick it up a notch. Power cord is very short (~ 3'), plan on running an extension if you place away from a receptacle.

Other Thoughts: This is a solid flat panel LED TV with a great set of features. Setup was easy and straight-forward, had the TV on and the internet going in 5 minutes. The software needed to be updated as soon as I got connected to the web but that's to be expected. Had to create a Samsung online account to get Pandora to work (??), the other web apps that I have tried so far work great (Netflix, browser). There is one set of component inputs which is shared with a composite video in, might have liked another composite in for the legacy gear. I guess I'll have to upgrade to HDMI ready gear (see if I can get that by the budget committee.... :^)

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Do It

Pros: Awesome picture. TV is pretty awesome, almost perfect.

Cons: The set picks up interference and turns off then back on when random lights in my house are turned off. Samsung sent out a technician who told it it couldn't be fixed, that's just how Samsung made them. Samsung is now telling me to get lost, it's not there problem?

Other Thoughts: Everybody I know swears by Samsung TV's and loves them. That used to be me too, but no more. I will never buy another Samsung product.
