It is not surprising that a company that makes great monitors would make great televisions. The X46BV is proof that the theory holds true. This 46" set supports HD resolutions including Full HD 1080p and computer resolutions up to 1920x1080. The panel has a 178° viewing angle so everyone in the room has a great view.

With a TV this good you want to plug everything you can into it. Sceptre lets you do just that with 3 HDMI, 2 Component, 2 S-Video/composite and a VGA port. There is also a coax in for your cable TV connection. The built in digital tuner ensures you are ready for the switch to digital broadcasts.

A picture this good should be up where everyone can see it. You can hang it on the wall with a 200x600mm VESA wall mount bracket. Or, it will look good on any entertainment center. The bottom mounted speakers minimize set width for an easier fit.

  • newegg HDMI Input The Sceptre X46BV-FullHD features three HDMI inputs to receive high-definition digital video and audio through a single, convenient cable connection. HDMI’s appeal has made it the choice interface for a broad selection of HD-capable video devices and gaming consoles.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat tv

Pros: great tv all around

Cons: lil heavy

Other Thoughts: after a huge dispute with service net id like to inform people what happened to me. something is wrong with my tv if i had to guess its a screen issue i called service net to get it repaired. a tech came out DID NOTHING TO MY tv he handed me a card and took model number of tv which service net should have given them then left. a few days later i get a call from service net saying they cant fix tx they wont replace tv so they going to buy out my contract. but not before they subtract the 125 fee for having a technician come out and look at tv for when i argued this fact i was met with hostility and a no attitude there was nothing they could do period and if i didnt like it dont get another item with one of their contracts on it. i have never had such a poor experience with any company before and it saddens me that a great company like newegg deals with such a poor customer service related company. be careful if you buy their contracts you may get less then you think you will

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Amazing TV, great price, Can be used as a TV and computer monitor

Cons: Heavy (for a female) to move

Other Thoughts: I have had this TV for more than a year and absolutely love it. I use it as a TV and computer monitor. When I bought it, I didn't expect too much as I believed you get what you pay for, but this TV has greatly exceeded my expectations.

4 out of 5 eggsSceptre 46" 1080p LCD HDTV X46BV

Pros: First HDTV. Great price for a nice big screen. Nice picture and easy setup. Have not noticed issues with remote control mentioned in other reviews.

Cons: Speakers are very weak. Depending on the audio source and specifically accents, dialogue can be hard to decipher. May want external speakers or a surround sound system (don't have that yet).

5 out of 5 eggsVERY Happy

Pros: Easy to use, fantastic picture. cannot be beat at this price!

Cons: Sound is weak, but i have no intention of using the stock sound for very long anyway....

Other Thoughts: Well worth the investment! I got this TV, a mounting kit, UPS, and a 2 yr extended warranty, shipping and taxes all for just under $800. Most TV's in this range cannot be purchased for that price

1 out of 5 eggsCheap knock off.

Pros: Picture good. Arrived in good condition.

Cons: I should have interpreted the specs more carefully. It says it has only two aspect ratios, 4:3 & 16:9. I did not read into it that there is NO zoom. Movies in letter box have to stay that way if they are from the cable or dish. A dvd player has its own aspect ratios. The instructions tell how to enlarge letter box to a complete screen, but when I wrote technical support about it, they just said THAT model does not support zoom. A waste of money for me.

Other Thoughts: I'll be replacing it sooner than I would have expected, and, believe me, it will not be with another Sceptre.

5 out of 5 eggsVery happy

Pros: Very happy with my purchase. Easy to hook up and when I did---wow-what a beautiful picture (after playing with the settings a little)!!! Very big screen-sturdy base. Clear picture. Couldn't ask for more---and what a great price. Offical plug: "a great tv for the average guy/gal. Im sure it's better (bigger brands) out there but this one is perfect if you want your basic big screen, clear pic, and great price. All i want to do it watch tv (dvds, gaming, etc) isnt that what a tv is for--this one will do just fine!

Cons: Im ok with the sound. Im sure it could be more powerful but thats an easy fix (hook up more speakers). Tv is in my bedroom so sound is isolated and just fine for me.

Other Thoughts: Major props to of the best online purchase experiences EVER. I ordered online thursday-received confirmation of payment the same day-Got confirmation number for shipping on Friday, and received by preferred carrier on tuesday. I am still shocked at the speedy service. Thank you Newegg

4 out of 5 eggsImpressive

Pros: -Large screen
-Only 2 stuck pixels on mine
-Many ports
-Fast start up
-Free HDMI cable!

Cons: -Weight (71lbs)
-Shipping time (8 days)

Other Thoughts: My TV is having a current problem with the speakers. I am getting a popping noise from the right speaker and I am wondering if it is going to work its way through. I will wait a week to see if it needs to be repaired/replaced. Color settings are a little funky to start off. Sound is a little bass heavy out of the box.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Deal!

Pros: Everything that anyone else has already stated. Jaw dropping clarity and depth on HD. The sound is fine! Plus, one little thing that no one has mentioned yet. The remote has a button for closed captions. This means you don't have to go to a menu to toggle them on/off. As someone who needs cc most of the time, but also needs to turn cc off for certain types of viewing, this is actually a big deal.

Cons: My set does have that buzz, but it's really not audible while watching/listening. Now I'm going to have to spring for the extra $ to get HD satellite.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy this terrible brand

Pros: After a few months of use, thik lines of dead pixels appeared in the left top section of the screen. It looks like the pixels started dripping for some reason.

I contacted Sceptre support for RMA, spent about 200$ dollars in shipping charges to get the TV over to them. After they have received it they blamed it on physical damage which is a bunch of lies and refused to repair or replace the unit.

Cons: After continues conversations with Sceptre over the phone and emails back and forth, they still insisted on blaming the physical damage.

To get it shipped to them I spent hours packing the TV hoping it wouldn't get damaged in shipping. When they received it they refused to repair the TV and when they shipped it back to me they just threw it in a box with "popcorn foam" in it.

Other Thoughts: Terrible product, terrible support. If something will happen to your screen, they will do anything not to repair it even though its still under warranty. Mark my words and go with any other brand.

This piece of .... TV was replaced by a 52" Samsung.
