5 out of 5 eggsLCD TV

Pros: I think the quality of this LCD is far better than its selling price.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: UPS tried to see how badly they could handle the box. It had several major dents. I was completely surprised to start it up and no problems, no dead pixels.

3 out of 5 eggsdisappointing

Pros: Really nice Picture

Cons: Does not work at Max resolution when using VGA (1680x1050) also has Very odd resolutions that work and do not work with VGA... The stand does not tilt or swivel so it's always leaning forward

Other Thoughts: 3/5 and just barely needs more working resolutions and needs base to tilt and swivel.

4 out of 5 eggsFairly satisfied; decent TV

Pros: For what I've done with it so far, it seems to match all the name brands in terms of features. I had to fiddle with it a little bit to work with my computer, but now that it's working, it looks great. I'm not sure what else to say... it works well, to my liking.

Cons: The stand tilts slightly forward. It's not too much of an issue for my setup, but it might affect some people. I'm still fiddling with the color settings; they seem a little bit off at the moment. The computer resolution only goes up to 1440x900; it would be nice to have it go to 1680x1050. There's no optical input for audio.

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm pleased with my purchase. I have an excellent computer set up now, which includes this new TV. I have all audio going through my computer speakers, so I haven't tested out the TV's speakers. I love being able to quickly switch between my computer, Xbox, and TV. And as usual, the Newegg service was superb.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Price, picture is quite impressive for the price tag, backlight control is a nice feature (its easy on the eyes when the room is dark and you can turn down the light on your tv). Remote has several buttons for switching between inputs so that's a breeze, easy to mount on wall. Overall I am happy with this tv. The picture settings for each input are saved individually, so when I switch from HDTV to N64 I don't have to adjust the settings each time.

Cons: Inputs are put in vertically( not perpendicular to the TV) so now that it is on my way the plugs pull out easily if I move them around. Speakers don't sound amazing, although they can get as loud as I need them without distorting. No side input for hooking up something quick. Headphone input is on the rear. All minor cons compared to the price/picture ratio.

Other Thoughts: I picked this up from Newegg on a special for about 280 plus a free wall mount. Product arrived in just under 24 hours after ordering, but was defective (backlight was making BRIGHT patches on the screen). Calling customer service was frustrating, so after an online chat with a representative (which was relatively pain free) I received an RMA. New one arrived about a week later, this time with dead batteries in the remote. Besides these mishaps, I am definitely more than happy that I made this purchase. Some people say menus are too small, but I don't have any problems reading them from about 6 feet away, which is how far away you should be from a TV this size. For some strange reason using the remote turns on and opens Windows Media Player on my Toshiba laptop (weird).

1 out of 5 eggsFoggy picture

Pros: good price

Cons: The picture fades out randomly. I cannot figure it out but it goes from a clear picture to a white foggy picture. I cannot figure out how to fix it or why it just randomly fades out like that

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HD-TV so far

Pros: HD-TV graphics and everything is very clear.
easy setup.
Price was really affordable.
(Cons are not really cons but i thought you may want to know what could be better)

Cons: *Running a DVD on a laptop and watching it on the HD-TV is not the best idea. The TV gets too dark ( or may be this is simply due to the VGA connection- I will update this review when I get an HDMI cable )
*It would be better if I had the ability to adjust the view. for HD-TV broadcasting, one or two letters at both right-end and left-end side go missing. Well, honestly I don't see this as a big cons)
*Came with it's original box ( would expect another bigger box to cover it ) and the safety type was broken. However clearly the TV wasn't used before. so no complaints
* takes about 20 mins to find all the channels on time warner.
*so far 2 times it reset all the channel memory, (do not know why but it is not a big deal for me)
*all the cable entrances are at the back ( not on the side)
* Can not clone the view of my laptop on it (unless it's 800-600). This is somewhat disappointing. However I can extend the screen when I chose the TV as the primary.

Other Thoughts: Honestly I don't think the resolution of the menus are not too annoying. they are small but I have glasses and I can see them.
And for the price I think this is a really good deal. I hope it continues working flawlessly .

And thank you newegg for the fast shipping.

3 out of 5 eggsHad it for 3 months

Pros: Still working, great picture

Cons: Poor sound quality in the speakers. I've noticed a few times recently that the speakers are crackling... making me nervous that the speakers are going to go out within 3 months, well passed when it can be returned

Other Thoughts: crossing my fingers

3 out of 5 eggsPoor analog tuner

Pros: Good price and the picture quality using the digital tuner is very good. I haven't tried it , but I would guess if connected to a computer or game console the picture would be equally good since these do not use the analog tuner.

Cons: The analog tuner has an odd defect. The left sides of objects have a green fringe while the right sides have a purple fringe. If this were a CRT display I would say the electron guns swere slightly misaligned. I can't think of a good reason this should happen in an LCD, but the two I returned and the two replacements have the exact same problem. If most of what you watch is digital, no problem, but most cable will have a lot of analog for some time yet, so I wouldn't recommend this set if you're going to be watching cable.
