5 out of 5 eggsLooks great in HD and not bad in SD

Pros: I have this hooked up to a dedicated HTPC running SageTV with an HVR-1600 pulling in both cable box SD and QAM channels, piping through a 2600gt using DVI. The picture is great and with the ATI decoders, SD looks good, better than I expected. HD looks amazing and when I tuned into a football game I swear my first reaction was that I was looking out of an open window. It is that good.

Cons: Hmm, I disable the blue LED so that is fine. It does seem to lose the DVI when paused sometimes but picks it back up right away when I press play or move the mouse.

Other Thoughts: AIT shipping is what it is. It took 7 business days but it was undamaged. FYI, this monitor is made in Mexico so that probably helps keep it from getting too beat up (a trip from China is reallly long...). Hurray for Hecho en Mexico! I'm coming from an 800x600 projector and the difference is amazing.

5 out of 5 eggsI'll never buy another CRT again

Pros: No dead pixels, nice sharp image, plenty bright enough (for low brightness and contrast ratings). Autosource switching and blue LED can both be disabled if you try. PC playback of TV and DVDs is better because it uses the whole screen without stretching things out. I don't need a stand-alone DVD player anymore. It will be a long time before I feel the need to replace this. $900 delivered, cant beat this deal!

Cons: For the price? none..
Compared to other screens? No tuner, no 1080p. AIT shipping was less than impressive, although delivery was successful with no damage.

Other Thoughts: Since I got this, I find it difficult to go back to the office and use the 19" crt monitor.

AIT shipping was a little slow compared to typical Newegg shipping, and communications with their local hub were not productive. I wish there were another choice. Best sub-$1000 screen out there!

5 out of 5 eggsWhat i think so far

Pros: Wow much bigger then I thought it was going to be. Very nice picture, i dont even have the HD ordered through the cable company yet and im not even using an hdmi cable yet but the picture is great, i think its going to be outstanding once i get those things.

Cons: Very heavy, but il deal.

Other Thoughts: Best bang for the buck, huge awesome tv for only 800 bucks, im pumped so far.

5 out of 5 eggsBest 42" LCD for the buck!

Pros: For almost half the price, you can enjoy HD-cinema, gaming, or internet browsing at your living room! Great picture quality (tested it with HD-movie trailers and gaming at 1280x1024 resolution), beat my 19" LCD big time in comparison.
~Disable the auto-sourcing, adjust the picture setting in the TV by using a HD-movie or trailer or game, don't go below DVI or HDMI ~ it is not fair to the TV.

Cons: Average sounds (not important, people usually have it externally), and yes, average control (not like i ever use it other than turning it on).

Other Thoughts: For gamer entering HD-gaming or cinema at home. Don't expect miracle at this price, but it is a very fair price for such amazing quality.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Picture, Great Value

Pros: For real estate, it's "location, location, location." For an LCD TV, it's "picture, picture, picture" - and this one delivers.

Easy to set up out of the box. No problems with pixels. If I'd wanted a computer monitor or a game monitor, I might have wanted more. But for live sports, the reason I bought it, this is a dream TV.

Cons: I don't know why, but I can't get a great deal of volume from this TV. I'm not talking about the quality of sound, just the amount. I have it in my den, not a big room, and I'm going to need to get separate speakers just to fill this room with sound.

Other Thoughts: Newegg.com has had great values on this monitor, and if you're looking for a great picture most of all, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsValue

Pros: A fourty-two inch HDTV for under a thousand dollars. I don't think there is much more to say. I was looking for something high definition that would let me play the 360 and watch HD broadcasts and DVDs. On Sub-50" TVs, I read you can't really spot the difference between 720p and 1080p. The TV shipped in a week, came without any dead pixels. A few tweaks and adjustments and it looks great. No bleed through on dark scenes, surprisingly high contrast (I turn the backlight down to 50%), fairly good saturation. Very sturdy case, with a sleek and minimalistic finish.

Cons: The speakers are pretty weak. Very lacking in bass, but the money you save you can invest in an awesome sound system.

1 out of 5 eggsHas broke twice.

Pros: -Has a good picture
-Played the Xbox360 on it and is very clear.

Cons: This has broke twice on me. Both times it has been different things. The 1st time it wouldn't turn on anymore. This time it doesn't have picture but has sound. So I have to send it in to Westinghouse, which will cost me to ship it since they dont cover shipping. Hopefully you live in California, because sending the TV to their shop in california is pretty expensive from here.

Other Thoughts: I own 2 other Westinghouse 37" 1080p (37w3) sets and they work flawlessly. Haven't had one problem with them. So I recommend you either go after one of those, or go after the new 42" 1080p one. It may just be my bad luck, but I haven't had troubles with any of the other HDTV's in my house. =)

P.S. I bought this from a store not newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsbetter than expected

Pros: Good picture. Good sound. (Source is a DVR/Cable box and a 30$ DVD player - Neither is HD). Lots of menu options. 4.5 stars would be a better rating. Looks good.

Cons: Blue light is bright (bad at night), but stuck a piece of blue tape (3M) over it.

Other Thoughts: Purchased at worst buy (I usually get everything at Newegg - best service) For the price you can not go wrong.

5 out of 5 eggsAn Outstanding entry level HD Monitor

Pros: A+++ Turned off the Westy boasts a clean, sleek and low profile design. Turned on, jaw-dropping 720p clairity. Received a "special" price via Newegg Newsletter, so sign up now. I could not pass it up!
Worried about AIT delevery? Don't. How about 4 business days shipped to the front door? Professional service and just as quick as the 'big boys'. Safe and secure packing materials. Zero dead pixels. Plug and play in minutes.

Cons: ----This space intentionally left blank due to the lack of cons----

Other Thoughts: The Westy's display menu really lets you fine tune the screen to your partictular room/venue. The built in speakers provided sufficient sound for regular tv viewing.
While watching the MLB Homerun Derby in San Fransisco, I had to apply sunscreen due to the lifelike picture. The lack of an internal tuner is a non-issue for me because I use a satalite provider for my HD services. Great tv, great price and insanely crisp picture. If you are waiting for the perfect product to introduce you to HD life, the Westinghouse W4207 is most definately the tv/monitor for you.
