2 out of 5 eggsIt WAS a great TV

Pros: Loud. Great Picture. Nice U.I.

Cons: HDMI Inputs stopped working

Other Thoughts: Right after the NewEgg replacement expired, both HDMI ports stopped working. The TV still works with just a COAX connection but neither HDMI inputs are accepting signals. Disappointing.

4 out of 5 eggsgood tv

Pros: very nice screen size if you are wanting something cost effective and have a semi close viewing distance.

Cons: i took one egg because the very top 3-4 rows of pixels died in the first week.

Other Thoughts: i was using this for a monitor and its a tad to big to be sitting that close to. i upgraded to an asus VX238H 23inch 1m monitor that i am absolutely tickled with. this tv will be retired to an easy life of spare bedroom viewing.

overall a good tv and would have had 5 eggs if the pixels had not died

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Do It

Pros: Price

Cons: 1st set I received looked horrid. I know its refurbished but there was polishing compound all over the screen edges and caked on the vent. The bezel had splotches of discoloration on it. I returned for a replacement and recived one with the power indicator not working. Condition was better but still unacceptable as they are listed as "refurbished" not "used." I returned this one and Newegg agreed to give me store credit. I have a 55" Vizio and love it, but I will not be purchasing any refurbished ones again. Lesson learned!

4 out of 5 eggsWonderful monitor replacement

Pros: Didn't intend to use this as a monitor first, but the results are a vast improvement over my previous monitor, to the point where I'm considering getting another to use as a TV. Too bad they're not going to be available any time soon.

Cons: Would prefer an actual DVI connector for the PC input so I don't get the VGA "ghosting." Also found what may be a scratch in the screen plastic or some residue from previous ownership on the screen, but it's not affecting the picture and is barely noticeable.

2 out of 5 eggsTV works great but

Pros: Inexpensive, lightweight slim design with good picture.

Cons: Remote control did not work, Looked as if someone purchased the TV and returned it after stealing the remote control out of the box. The remote I got was used and abused to the point I couldn't read the numbers and did not work even with new batteries, so I called Newegg and they directed me to Vizio, Vizio stated Newegg is not an authorized dealer and refused to help with the remote, called back Newegg and they wanted me to ship the entire TV back to evaluate. What the heck, I purchased a universal remote but am not happy with this experience.

Other Thoughts: Why not replace the remote and not the entire TV in the future??

4 out of 5 eggsgreat picture for the price

Pros: works well, good HD picture, reasonably fast response for gaming too. love the thin small size but big picture.

Cons: could do with an extra HDMI port, and the factory settings need tweaking for color and sharpness. the built-in tuner could be more sensitive when used with indoor antenna

4 out of 5 eggsViewing angle

Pros: Good brightness, contrast color sat, and price

Cons: Poor base mount angle. TV points back and can not be adjusted. Had to place a 1 inch shim on back of mount.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Full 1080p resolution, connectivities, 5ms response time (perfect for games), price.

You can also connect a USB thumb drive in the back and display pictures (non-progressive .jpg, I think). I use the USB connection for a small, but bright, LED backlight (actually a laptop LED.)

Cons: It's refurbished, so you don't really know what was wrong with it if anything and if those issue got fixed, but looking at the good/bad review ratio, that chance is lessened.

The stand tilts a bit, nothing a wall mount can't fix... or a book:p The remote seems a bit fragile; it's worn out, but holding up surprisingly well.

Other Thoughts: Don't forget to calibrate the T.V. The default settings are for store floors with the bright fluorescent lighting. [Search: AVC HD Calibration (it's free) or something smiliar to get the best out of the picture.]

There are certainly better HDTV's out there, but if you're looking to save some money without sacrificing quality, then this T.V.'s a keeper.
