Is this 60 or 120 refresh title says 60, details say 120?

Hello, I apologize but I'm not sure.  When I bought mine, it was advertised as 120 Hz.  The box does not say the Hz; it says "120 clear motion rate".  I've submitted an inquiry to newegg about this because I too thought I was purchasing a 120 Hz tv.

It's more evil marketing obfuscation like the useless "contrast ratio" of the past.  This is 60hz (the REAL refresh rate) with a "120 CMR" ("Clear Motion Rate).  The phrase was coined by Samsung and only used by them from what I've seen.  It's their way of confusing the customer (like you) into thinking a 60hz TV is a 120hz TV.  Ridiculous!  Should be illegal.  Here's more on it from c|net:

Though Samsung is fantastic at creative marketing ("LED" TV was its thing), it at least doesn't outright call the TVs with the aforementioned tricks "480Hz" refresh. Instead, it has "CMR" or Clear Motion Rate. "Samsung's more comprehensive Clear Motion Rate takes into account all three factors that contribute to motion clarity: panel refresh rate, image processor speed, and backlight technology." In other words, a TV with a CMR of 240 could be a 120Hz panel, with an average processor, and a scanning backlight, or a 60Hz panel, a fancy processor, and a scanning backlight. It's unlikely a TV with a CMR of 240 would be a 240Hz panel, as such an expensive panel would almost certainly come with one or both the other features.

Is this tv good for gaming ?

I must say this tv does very well with gaming. I have a ps4 and also my pc connected to it. I have not noticed and motion blur and the color has been fantastic as well. I have had zero problems with it.

There was no indication, however, it didn't look like it was ever taken out of the box or used at all. It works flawlessly.

Will this TV accept a non-HD composite signal from a DirecTV set top box (red,white,yellow wires)? I currently have the Samsung 32" 4050 which is 720p, and I use the coax input for OTA, HDMI for a Roku media player, and the composite input for DirecTV, and would like to use a similar configuration for this 39" 5000.

Yes, that would work fine, there are two hdmi inputs, a coax, and a component/composite which share a video in but have separate audio ins.

From the research I did I think this is a 2012 model.  I don't know of any way to determine when or if it was sold new or anything about the refurbishing.  Newegg might be able to tell you more if you can give them a serial number.

Is this tv good for HD gaming with the newer consoles? as in can the tv keep up with the rapidly changing images and is there a great deal of latency?

Absolutely!  I've got my XBox One hooked up to mine and games like Halo: Master Chief, Battlefield 4, Destiny, and Titanfall all look amazing.

Does this TV have input(s) for a PC? For instance, I want to play the updated X-COM computer game on a large screen TV. My computer has both VGA and DVI outputs from the video card, which I bought here at Newegg and love. It's a GeForce GTX 650 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card in case you need the info.
