1 out of 5 eggsTerrible manufacterer service

Pros: cheap price

Cons: Product not as described. Slow service response from manufacturer/distributer. Dishonesty on part of service department of distributer. AVOID AURIA PRODUCTS!

Other Thoughts: My displeasure at dealing with the company vending these tv's to Newegg was not worth the savings on the tv I bought. I cannot recommend them. The added cost of packing, shipping for service, then the service NOT being provided, being told something would be fixed when they could not fix it, etc, only left a very bad taste.

I was so displeased I notified Newegg, who did nothing about it. They still deal with them, obviously.

Avoid this manufacturer. Auria sucks...

2 out of 5 eggstelltale

Pros: one has to admit, that even for the best value finder person, its not very often "you runs into a brand new 42" 1080p TV, that works AVERAGE for the price that I paid, in any brand....

Cons: the (black level) on this TV is Bad really, really Bad!! and its even worst on "DVD" the colors are horrible you can count all bleeding color and black level, on this thing, and there's no way to do anything about it inside the menu, the manual and remote is also of little help,

the fact of the matter is, you cant get in touch with the company for warranty,(eqd corp) if you do" they put you on hold permanently, and if your lucky to talk to someone it ends up, that they have to called you back,..... and they don't return calls.. this Auria will be my first and last

Other Thoughts: in the future I'll be staying with the regulars (SAMSUNG,SONY,PANASONIC, LG AND TOSHIBA..

2 out of 5 eggsNice for as long as it lasts

Pros: Nice picture, good basic television for watching or playing video games. It has enough inputs to accomodate most feeds and worked well out of the box. Had it been reliable, this would have been a fantastic TV for the price.

Cons: Within a couple months we lost audio on two of the HDMI inputs. A couple of months later we lost the HDMI ports altogether, leaving us with a single input. The AV input still works, but a single HDMI is very restricting given that we have several HDMI devices.

Other Thoughts: This this is a very effective space heater. We have it in the kid's game room and it turns the place into a suana if you leave it on for long.

4 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Price - $400 shipped.
Picture - 1080p (auto sensing down to 480i if needed)

Cons: Shipping Box. 1st one came with a nice large puncture wound (distroyed screen). Newegg was fast to help get this fixed. 2nd one arrived, in good condition.

This is the EQ4288p, not the EQ4288, as stated.

Hard to get my Logitech Xbox remote to 'learn' the commands, since it did not have it mapped already (no pre-set settings for the EQ4288p)

Other Thoughts: I don't care about the unit's sound quality, since I'm running it through my A/V receiver (along with other items). Nice arrayment of connections.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product with a great price

Pros: nice and crisp picture. I dont care what other reviews say, the sound quality is good. I dont get crazy bass out of it and I never expected it to. Swivel is nice. Easy installment, good price. picks up all the channel really easily

Cons: >Upon muting the mute sign doesnt goes away after few seconds which is extremely annoying at times.
>Newegg sent me the EQ4288p version which has lower specs and after reading other reviews I am not the only one who has this problem.
>Hate the remote as it works at times and sometimes just doesnt. I tried changing batteries but theres definitely something wrong with the remote. annoying at times.

Other Thoughts: its my first lcd tv ever bought and I am really happy with my purchase. Thanks to Newegg and Auria.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Product Ever!

Pros: Great LCD HDTV for the price paid! The video is crisp and the audio works just fine.

I mostly use this TV for video gaming purposes; however, I do occasionally hook it up to my PC using an HDMI cable for movies, tv shows, and for the emulators I use to play old school games like Super Mario Bros etc.

I paid a total of $450.81 (Taxes in - Free shipping of course)
And I couldn't be happier.

Its the first actual LCD TV I've purchased, and although I was speculating that AURIA was an unfamiliar brand, and that I should stick to the typical brand names, I took a gamble at the cheap price and the helpful comments.

Great TV over all!

Cons: Didn't affect me whatsoever...

When I went to pick up my TV from Purolator, (the shipping company), there was the exact same TV being sent out to another customer.

In comparison to my box, which had minimum damage, his box had corners torn out, dirt all over the box, tears and punctures, mud on the plastic (You could literally see the TV)

Not sure if anything can be done about this on's part, but beware!

I got lucky-- my box was fully intact and I had no problems hooking it up.

Minor Defects:

I noticed that with my TV, there were air bubbles in the plastic around the contour of the TV. You can't see it with the naked eye; however, it is noticeable.

Other Thoughts: For those who experience bad audio, buy a nice blu-ray entertainment system, and use the audio from there! It'll definitely fix that problem!

5 out of 5 eggsExtremely good quality for the price!

Pros: Extremely easy to set-up and get working. Took about 15 minutes from getting out of the box to getting it standing on its own with everything connected. Color is phenomenal compared to other TV's for even 50% more expensive.

Cons: Since I have to put something here... They could have made the font size bigger on the actual TV menus. They had 42" to work with, after all. But for me personally, it's not even close to a problem.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for my grandparents as a Christmas Present, and they couldn't be happier. We were watching A Christmas Story all day when I got it set-up, and the whole family could finally watch at once without sitting on top of each other! :D for $400, this is far and away the most ridiculously good value on just about any piece of electronic hardware I've ever purchased!

5 out of 5 eggsGood value

Pros: Good size, awesome color and image. Got it on the memorial day sale for 399, worth every penny. Lots of inputs, including 3 HDMI, I had no dead pixels and no damage to the plastic like other reviewers complained about. Not to heavy, and I love the rotating stand, and the easy to use remote is nice.

Cons: In a really dark environment with dark scenes you can sometimes see the lamps behind the screen, not enough to take away from the movie though least I dont think so, minor annoyance is all it is. And the remote does need to be pointed in the general direction of the right side of the screen, but not necessarily AT the receiver. Oh, and I wish it had analog sound outputs, that kinda stank, but not a big deal I did get a good deal on a digital sound system at a garage sale (Sony digital surround sound with 8 inch sub and 5 speakers $45, and yes all works well)

Other Thoughts: Not a $800 42 inch tv, but it will definetly blow away anything you can get at wally world in that price range, heck it will blow away any wally world 42 inch I dont care what price they are. Other then being able to see the lamps when its dark, its a good solid TV, every bit the image quality I wanted. Im using it as a primary TV, and dont regret buying it for an instant.

4 out of 5 eggsFirst HDTV

Pros: >>Vibrant colour; crystal-clear picture; glossy black finish.
>>TV has a rotating base that is very handy.
>>Fewer than 3 dead pixels, none of them noticeable.
>>Price (WOOT)

Cons: >> Poor contrast in dark areas of video output. In fact, my fifteen-year-old CRT has better dark-area contrast (and it's still running). This is why I posted four eggs, not five.
>> Bad speakers, but not as bad as the other reviews had me thinking. (Loud events are too loud, and quiet events (conversations) are too quiet)

Other Thoughts: This is the first HDTV I've ever purchased, and after lots of comparisons and reading-up on the subject. If this TV keeps working fine for at least a year or two, I'll be a satisfied customer. I also just got inFamous 2 on the same day I got this, and they look awesome together (except night missions, because obviously the world is darker and this TV doesn't do darks very well.)

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost too big

Pros: 3 HDMI ports, component and composite, and a digital coaxial out. 42 inches of screen space in 1080p along with a sound system is like being at the movies without kids kicking your seat.

Cons: There's a hum in the speakers like it's being over powered, the digital out takes care of the problem, would liked an optical out instead but nothing a converter box couldn't fix.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a 26 inch RCA and absolutely love playing games on this massive screen.
