5 out of 5 eggsamazing board

Pros: Amazing board, when it was around it was the best in its class in terms of price and build quality and performance.

dual pci express at this price and some limited overclocking are superb.

Cons: pretty much none!

3 out of 5 eggsAn OK mobo but no WOL

Pros: Cheaper and supports Sandy Bridge.

Cons: Only one system fan header. Most mobo have atleast 2.
WOL not working at all, seems like a typical Gigabyte issue (google). After I shutdown the system, the network LED remains lit for a second and then it turns off. I have checked that ERP setting is disabled. The BIOS says, if you enable ErP setting, then WOL will not work. So, I made sure ErP is disabled. All other settings are set to make sure WOL is enabled. All my MSI/ECS/ASUS motherboards have same settings and all of these work fine with WOL. Not much help from the Gigabyte support as usual.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Cheap
Built pretty solid compared to other boards I've had.
DDR3 is awesome.

Cons: The case headers arent color coded (like another reviewer said) so I hod to go off PinOuts in the manual but it all worked out. (I still need to plug in the power light though)

Other Thoughts: Not really a con but the board has no IDE connections so you'll need SATA drives (hard and optical). I knew this going into it so all was good..

My setup(Everything bought here)
Windows 7 64bit
This board running i3 Dual Core 2120, 8gb DDR3 G Skill Sniper RAM and a OEM 1tb HDD.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Cheap. Nice specs. Supports i7. Good build quality.

Cons: XP drivers for it are junk. Don't install, don't work, so no onboard ethernet nor onboard sound.

Google tells me that I'm not the only one with this issue, not by a long shot.

Gigabyte have no working tech support, nor do they make any version of the driver other than the known broken one available.

Other Thoughts: Avoid.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent value!

Pros: I purchased this motherboard along with an Intel i3-2100T (35 watt) processor and 8GB (2 x 4GB) of G.Skill Ripjaws X Series RAM to make a quiet, energy-efficient, low-cost computer for my wife. At the price-point for this board, I have no complaints. The BIOS is simple yet clear and easy to navigate. The board fired up the first time.

Cons: A small con only – the headers for the front-panel ports and switches are not color coded, nor does the user’s manual diagram the pin-outs well. So I needed to get out my magnifying glass and read the tiny print on the motherboard to get it right.

Other Thoughts: Although these H61 motherboards have an on-board video solution, they also have one dedicated PCI-e x16 slot to add a discrete graphics card, including a high-end one if desired.

5 out of 5 eggsNicely Done Gigabyte

Pros: Easiest build ever - Windows 7-64. Booted to an external USB DVD drive to install Windows 7. Looks like a well engineered board with quality components. It's amazing what they fit on such a small package.

Cons: No IDE slots, SATA only. Not really a con but good to know that you need SATA drives for this, optical too.

Other Thoughts: Be aware there's only two RAM slots, so make it count. I went with 8G of G-Skill Sniper. If you need real good video, buy a PCIE x16 board.

5 out of 5 eggsNo USB 3 ports

Pros: I don't usually do this, but ... BinaryGK where did you find usb3 ports? I don't think this board has them. They all seem to be USB2.

Cons: Neweggs review system doesn't allow for commenting on an erroneous review without picking a number of eggs.

Other Thoughts: All of my Sandy Bridge experience has been with P67 motherboards. This would probably make a great system, but you could spend another $200(?) and get a P67 motherboard and a 2600k chip and go wild. (easy 4GHz+ overclock)

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!

Pros: USB 3.0 for 85 bucks,
OH WAIT, you get LGA 1155 (SANDY) as well. Fired it up first time np, runs like a champ, packages very nice, very pretty looking mobo, I'd buy this any day.

Cons: None at all I mean cmon name brand mobo, newest socket type and USB 3.0 for 85 bucks, hello!?
