This review is from: Microsoft SideWinder X8 Black 12 Buttons Tilt Wheel 2.4GHz Wireless 4000 dpi Gaming Mouse
Pros:
Lots of buttons. "Charge-and-play" feature similar to Microsoft's own Xbox 360 wireless controllers. Comes with rechargeable batteries. Texture/feel of mouse and buttons. Three sets of mouse feet of various textures and styles. Wireless responsive and lag-free. On-the-fly DPI adjustment.
Cons:
No way to know when battery is done charging. Slightly heavier than I'd like, and no interchangeable weights. "Sidewinder" button can't be mapped to do anything other than open the Games folder on Vista/7. No real difference between feel of each of the types of mouse feet. See other thoughts for more.
Overall Review:
This is my first "new" mouse in about ten years. I'm upgrading from a MS Intellimouse Optical. I had heard that the bluetrack laser tracking has an issue with cloth mousepads, so I was a bit hesitant to buy it at first since I have a cloth mousepad that I've had for probably ten years (Max Payne mousepad = win). Not a single hiccup. I can't tell any real difference between the various sets of mouse feet, but I wonder if it's because I have a cloth mousepad. Overall very happy with this new mouse.
