Good bang for the buck 10/16/2011
This review is from: Motorola CHARM Dark Sapphire 3G Unlocked GSM Phone w/ Android 2.1 / 3.2 MP Camera / Wi-Fi (MB502)
Pros:
-Bang for the buck, you get a lot for the price
-Good build quality
-Good full qwerty keyboard
-Android 2.1
-Wi-Fi calling if you have a T-Mobile sim
Cons:
-Internal memory, while specs say plenty - is mostly full with software you can't uninstall
-Battery life: But it is after all a smartphone, there are apps to address this
-Screen size a tad small for browsing, though double tap lets you zoom in
Overall Review:
I did some research and bought one for my son, and have one for me now. He's a hard core texter, and former qwerty phone user from the big name vendors. He wanted droid with the power of texting. He seems to love this phone, is able to get plenty of apps for it, and it has wifi which is great.
Does have limits with internal memory, but you can get around that by being smart on how you use the SD card. If you put apps on the SD card, make sure its got a good speed rating.
I've tested it with AT&T and T-Mobile SIM cards and it works as described. Get 3G on both and it has good wifi managment. It's an underestimated phone and if you are willing to do some research on it, and will find it quite capable. I use mine as a backup to my BB unit. It can display documents, works with active sync, and has good social app integration being a droid phone.
