5 out of 5 eggs Great TV set 11/05/2011

This review is from: Sony 55" 1080p 240Hz LED-LCD HDTV KDL55HX820

Pros:

picture is SOOOO clear.
the form factor is really cool looking.
the glass on the front makes maintaining a clear picture very simple.

Cons:

no wireless-N. only G.
massive menu system.
3D glasses are extra.
the built in DLNA media player does not play xvid or mkv.

Overall Review:

ignore the people that say the 729 is the same set at a cheaper price. you get what you pay for. IMHO, having the glass on the front is very important. windex and a paper towel and the screen is crystal clear. cannot do that on a plastic covered screen.
i used the lan connection on mine since the WiFi is not N.
the built in DLNA player sucks. but that does not matter to me since i use WD TV Live players anyway.
the 3D menu is very simple. push one button and choose either side by side or over under as the source. for those of you that are not familiar with 3D, your discs are usually side by side, but having the over under option is sweet since Comcast broadcasts over under. The 3D is AMAZING. the screen is so bright. I have mine in a sun lit room and the pic is still perfect.
