Less than Ideal But Got It Working Again 02/18/2013
This review is from: Rosewill RCR-IC002 - 74-in-1 Internal Card Reader with USB 2.0 Ports & Extra Silver Face Plate - Fits 3.5" Drive Bay
Pros:
I was in need of a card reader and was pleased to see that Newegg was offering a coupon for this particular product. I installed the card reader easily and was happy to find that it had a blue LED rather than a red and worked as advertised. Months passed until I got a windows message stating that one of my USB devices (card reader) had "malfunctioned" or "unknown device".
I contacted Rosewill and they said the fastest way for them to help me was that they could reimburse me with a Newegg gift certificate. Sadly they only gave me what I originally paid for it and did not cover the price of the unit's current price. But props to them for suggesting that.
After researching, I found that another user on 4m4z0n commented that they had the same problem. They went into Device Manager (Win 7), uninstalled device, disconnected card reader from mobo, and rebooted. They then connected the card reader back to the mobo and another reboot. Magically this worked for me also.
I believe I started having the problem after I did a bios update. But so far so good. I've only tested micro sd and SD cards and they seem to be working just fine as well as the USB port.
Cons:
Card reader malfunctioned but after uninstalling and re-installing, it started working again.
