Old BIOS!!! 03/01/2013
This review is from: ASUS P8Z68-V LX LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
Pros:
Great deal for the price
Cons:
The BIOS is old, will not support intel ivy bridge technology. Unless you have an older LGA 1155 socket CPU that you can use to boot and flash the BIOS, you will have to RMA to ASUS for the newest BIOS.
Overall Review:
ASUS customer support was very helpful considering the reason for my RMA.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for providing feedback on this motherboard. Z68-based motherboards may not have the latest BIOS required to support Ivy Bridge CPU's. However, in addition to using an older supported CPU (such as those supported since BIOS version 0403: http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/P8Z68V_LX/#support_CPU) to update the BIOS and RMA the motherboard to us, you can also purchase a BIOS chip with the latest version from our eStore (http://estore.asus.com). If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us below. Thank you.
