Newegg.com - Computer Parts, Laptops, Electronics, HDTVs, Digital Cameras and More!

Pros:

It's got a 1920x1200 resolution and a matte screen! It's perfect for editing photos if that's what you're into.

The stand it comes with is fantastic as well. The adjustable base lets you contort it to any height and angle you want. The convenient carry handle on it lets you tote it around easily too (the base even fully folds up towards the monitor making it easier to carry around).

Comes with DVI to DVI, VGA to VGA, and DisplayPort to DisplayPort cables (and the power cable too).

Cons:

NO HDMI CONNECTION! It's not a deal killer though since you can either buy an HDMI to DVI cable, or an HDMI to Displayport cable right here on Newegg if you need it.

It would have been great if HP would include a mini-displayport adapter or a mini-displayport to displayport cable with the monitor, but at this price it's hard to complain.

Overall Review:

I am a photographer and I do my own photo editing. I have this monitor attached as a secondary output on a dual-monitor stand alongside my trusty Gateway high def 24" monitor. Being that my primary monitor has a glossy screen, the matte screen on the LA2405x makes comparing how images will look on the two screen types a breeze. Color wise they're nearly identical (the glossy screen on my Gateway monitor does make that screen a touch more contrasty and does punch up the saturation a tiny bit). Both screens are color calibrated and look virtually identical though side-by-side color wise, blues look a little weak compared to my Gateway monitor, but that's because colors have always looked punchy on the Gateway monitor.

The on-screen real estate from having a 1920x1200 resolution makes a difference if you're editing photos compared to 1920x1080 monitors. The price I paid for this monitor is almost 50% less than what I paid for my first 1920x1200 monitor too!

I can't tell you how gaming would be on this screen since I don't do any of that on this system.
